the final bell rang loudly in my ears, startling me out of my day dreams. i yawned and began stuffing my textbooks in my bag, only pausing to jot down the homework i wasn't going to find time to do.

zack met me at my locker, slinging his arm around my shoulders before shooting me a large grin.

i paused and gave him a look, narrowing my eyes slightly as he continued to stare at me.

" zack would you stop looking at me like that, its creeping me out " i frowned before shrugging his arm off my shoulders.

" no can do little car-car. i managed to get the location of this years party of the year, you're welcome by the way, and for once, this party isn't at your house! which means no cleaning up while your father slaps you, which don't think i didn't see that bruise on your cheek. you should really ice that"

he frowned, lightly tracing the mark on my chin. i hissed in reply before slamming my locker shut.

" no thank you, if you haven't noticed, i'm not exactly the party type zack, and keep your damn paws off my face, that fucking hurt you blithering idiot." i snapped, yanking his arm away from my face.

we made our way down the emptying hallway before exiting school. i let out a large sigh of exhaustion and rubbed my face gently before looking at zack, mustering up every last drop of pride i had and throwing it out the window.

" zacky-pie , best friend ever, can you pleeeeeeease drive me to work today, anya took the car " i whined, practically spitting out my older sisters name all while hanging my arms off the taller males shoulders.

zack scoffed and ruffled my hair, sending me another glorious smile.

" of course dude ! you dont even have to ask , however where am i driving you, because i swear you change jobs every other day " he laughed, ruffling my hair gently.

i hugged my only friend tightly, giving him a large kiss on the cheek.

" thank you zack, i don't know what i'd do without you" i thanked him before legging him go, which resulted in him rubbing his side gently.

" apparently nothing " he snorted before unlocking his shiny car. i slid into the front seat and typed in the directions to one of my many different part-time jobs.

as we drove up to Merino's Pizza Palace , i stretched my joints one last time, the satisfying pops filling the car.

"soooo... ill pick you up after your shift, just shoot me a text " he smiled before i could exit his vehicle. i nodded and checked the time on my shattered phone.

" hmm, well my shift ends at 7:30 so don't forget me " i smiled back gently and then headed for my job.

i exited Merino's through the back door, a large bag of trash in my pale hands. grunting with the effort i swung the bag into the dumpster before heading out front to where zack had parked his car.

i slowly slid into his car, immediately groaning softly at the feeling of cold air pressing against my sweaty body.

" so. take a shower, and then we can go get some take out " zack said blankly, keeping his eyes on the road.

after a long shower i pulled on some comfy clothes, to which zack immediately shook his head at. the taller male sifted through my closet before pulling out some dark skinny jeans and a loose fitting shirt, perfect to hide my bones with.

with a bit of grumbling i tugged the clothes on , my eyes shifting over to zack suspiciously. why was there a need to get dressed up for take out? i shrugged it off and then joined him in the car.

i regretted my decision to get in the car the minute we pulled up to a large house , its windows turning colors slowly. i could already practically feel the vibrations already from the loud music. i groaned loudly but allowed zack to drag me to the party.

the party that would finally change my dark world.
