At last! School's over... For students. Of course, as a functional contributor to the industry, I shall stay behind and do paperwork. I sigh as I thought to myself, desperate to go home and have the sleep of my life. Its usually how my life goes. I wake up, eat, work, go home, sleep, and do it all over again. Typical, and at this point, I am only waiting for death to come and end this never ending cycle of "boredom". I subconsciously dropped the red pen in my hands while I zoned out for a bit.
As the hour passed by, one or two leave the faculty to go home to their families and loved ones. I figured "It must be fun to have someone waiting for you at home, to cook for you, and to cuddle with you."
Zoning out again. More hours passsed and I finally had the opportunity to go home. I bid farewell to the ones who still preferred to stay and not ditch their paperwork to do it tomorrow morning.
It was currently 8:30 in the evening. It was dark and quiet, a little windy, but it was a peaceful night.
As I was waiting for a taxi to arrive, I heard soft and fading whimpers and unsettling laughs from the dark alley near me.
I subconsciously followed those whimpers that fade like a heartbeat.
Closer and closer, I find myself looking at three teenagers, two of them standing while the other... Holding unto dear life. I heard no begs to stop nor words of hope from the kid. Just groans and silent whimpers of pain. The other two slightly angry yet enjoying their little moment of inflicting pain. I couldn't stand no more, so I interfered with this nonsense.
"Who are you?"
Asked the boy with confidence in his eyes, the other suggesting to run away. Perplexed at the situation, I could only think of what a noble man would do.
"You got two choices, you either get the hell out of here and go straight home, or I beat your ass while I drag you all to the police station."
I said, eyes that pierced into their ignorant ones.
I truly am grateful that I wasn't wearing my uniform. Thank you friday!
" Should I be scared? "
The ignorant fool teasingly asked as his fists playfully hit my chest. More and more, the angrier Ive gotten, and hitting a kid won't make me hesitate to do so.
With that fourth playful punch after a moment of silence, I hit him.. Hard.
Hard enough for him to fall to the ground, and groan in pain, and enough to scare the shit out of the other.
"One last warning kid, or do you really wish for a beating?"
I said as I stoop down. Giving off a psychotic smile and piercing eyes. Without a doubt he rolled his eyes at me and walked away. I took a moment to reassure myself that they were gone. I sigh and turned to the person who was groaning in pain.
"Not here? Did that kid run already?
With that much pain, It would be impossible to get far".
As I exited the dark alley, I found the teen leaning unto the dirty walls, limping and trying to stand firm.
"Aish, kids these days, even a thank you ain't a thing anymore."
I let out a sigh, a slight hint of frustration. As I turned to help, I could not believe my eyes. The kid groaning and whimpering, bruises all over, and dull eyes,
