Few days had passed, maybe even a full week. Things were calm. For the most part. Diamond was spending time with her new pack family, her sister Opal helping her around making sure she wouldn’t get lost.
Erien was busy, lost in his work to hopefully make Kris lose the interest in his new hunt. He didn’t want anything to happen to her. A new friend, caught in the hands of a monster. Her family would be harmed. Her friends as well.
“Duncan!”
The brunette male with curl locks burst through the door in a panic, his heart racing from the yell his older brother let out,” What what!?” Erien was laying on his desk, giving a pitiful look. Duncan relaxed, an irritated expression on his face and he stomped over and nailed his fist down on to Erien’s head,” You fucking dope head! Don’t yell like that unless there is an emergency!”
“But there is, I’m hungry.”
Duncan groaned, still confused on how this baby man was his older brother. How this guy can, in 0.2 seconds, snap into a killing mood like a real beast. May the world never know.
“Then go eat. You don’t have to be in here constantly. Look, I know what Kris is doing has you on edge, but even you need a break. Go outside. You like the cold. Move it move it!”
Both the brothers left the room, one being shoved like their life was in danger if they didn’t go eat. If the outside didn’t happen. They laughed, disappearing down the hallway of the household.

Months passed now. Winter had come. Nothing was not covered in a blanket of white plush coldness. Snow claimed her land once again another year. Erien was by the unfroze creekside, sitting in the water as it rushed over his bare body, trying to bring him along with everything else to the pond down at the end.
His older brother was quiet. All the connections he had said he hasn’t been spotted in a while since he came here and went back home. And Lia was gone as well.
What is Kris planning? What is he thinking will happen once he returns the daughter to the StarDust clan. She won’t be happy, that is no doubt. Why else was she helped out to leave that place?
Erien closed his eyes, listening to the snow slide and fall to the ground. Well, he thought he was.
Diamond was walking with some new friends from the Binturong territory, giggling with one another about random things. One of them was looking around and snickered and pointed,” Looks like one of the wolves got out~”
Diamond and the other looked over and noticed, laughing now and deciding to pull a prank. They neared Erien by the creek, snowballs gathered in hand about to throw when one of them screamed and covered their face.
Erien shot up, racing to hide from the woman screaming as snow fell on top of him, thankfully covering what he was hoping to hide.
Diamond’s face was beet red as well just like her friends. Erien was just staring, having no time to even allow his body to tell him this was embarrassing until it just took over when he registered as Diamond and two more females. One too many.
“Erien.” Diamond was quiet now, turning away pulling her scarf up to her nose.
“Uhm, Diamond. Hello,” the heat on his face burning,” If you all would leave for the moment, I could get dressed.”
“Just stand up and get dressed! Not every day you see-” Wack! A snowdrop hit in the one girl’s face making her land back into the snow. Erien held a laugh back as he rushed up and behind some trees and dressed, buckled his black ground touching trench coat and reappearing to all three of them.
“Sorry about that. Normally it is vacant here. What are you girls doing out this far, do you realize had it not been me, you might have been in trouble?”
“Diamond said she knew the ways around here and if we got in trouble she could help us! You two are friends, right? We assumed so if you afforded to keep her with your pack~!”
Erien buried his face into the neck of his trench coat, the once tomato red was now a deep cherry red. He was mumbling to himself with a nod to the girls. The two squealed as Diamond shook her head,” I’m sorry. We will leave now.”
“Actually, why don’t you guys stay? Or, go get more of you. We are having a festival for Winter tonight. Take it as a pack inviting a pack and wanting to make friends you know?” Erien smiled, the light from the snow reflecting off into his eyes, a genuine pleasant twinkle of hope there would be a yes. Diamond giggled, now it was her to blush,” Okay. We will be back in a while then. See you, Erien.”
They walked away, letting Erien walk them. Then Diamond turned around, a sly smirk,” Nice birthmark on your ass too, Alpha~”
Erien tensed, his eyes wide as plates, his face now beyond any red shade ever seen. The girls laughed as they ran off to gather the rest of their friends and families for tonight.
He was left embarrassed and mentally face palming but smiling to myself as he went back to his pack to ready for tonight.

The Binturongs agreed to come over to the Carnation pack for the festival. It excited everyone that they wanted them over. It’s not common to be invited by them.
Music was waving through the breezing wind and tree leaves, the pups of the Carnation pack and the ruts of the Binturongs and Martens were playing together on the grounds. The adults laughed, ate, and exchanged conversations between one another.
The music started up, Chloe, Tien, along with some otters filled out from the group, grabbing people from the Binturongs and Martens, spinning and tossing one another in the air. Bare feet patted the earth froze ground, howls and claps beginning as the drums started up. Chloe yelped out smiling, her and Tien throwing their hands in the air. Voices joined in song as the words fell out. A new language that an elder wolf led. Soon, Erien and Duncan jumped onto two tables yelling out along with Tien and Chloe,” Hört die Geigen, hört die Geigen, Hey yo, Die Feuer sind entfacht! Hey yo, Folgt dem Reigen, folgt dem Reigen In der Walpurgisnacht!”
Pups and ruts danced around the adults that were hand in hand, racing around the forest of legs covered in skirts, shorts and pants. The grounds around shook as the dances took off, the music loud for the woods to hear.
Soon enough, the Bird clan flew in, numbers of them landing and gathering hands around, Rayna coming into view as she tapped Diamond on the shoulder who was staring at Erien while he danced on the tabletop, spinning and tossing a young child in the air and placing them on his shoulder. Diamond smiled,” Hello.”
“If you want to dance with him,” Rayna grabbed her shoulders,” Go! Walpurgisnacht is a german song for April 30th, but we can’t help but sing it out in winter. Go get him!” Rayna shoved Diamond through the crowd until Erien caught her in one arm before she landed to the ground.
Both of them were pink to the cheeks, smiling like idiots. Erien grabbed Diamond’s hands, pulling her up into the table and spun her. She squeaked out as arms held her waist close and the rhythm shook the table, same as their fast steps did following it.
“I’m glad you agreed. I saw you last time dancing when you stayed here before. Happy I can dance with you this time.”
Diamond blushed, keeping her gaze down,” I heard you sing from then too, just the one time before you disappeared after. Hehe, and how you did it again. It was amazing!”
Both of them laughed, continuing on with the dance and more as new music played late into the night.
