I sat under my boat watching the sunset below the sea, as much as I hated this life that view sometimes was worth it.

The sky waves of gold and red as if the sky and the clouds where aflame it mirrored in the waves of the ocean onto the dusty sandy beach.

"Hi," a voice said beside me I didn't care to look who it was as I already knew the voice

"Hi, it's a nice view tonight" I said

"It is" she smirked. I looked up and saw she wasn't looking at the sunset. She was looking at me in her usual fancy dress, her hair done perfectly, "what are you up to tonight?"

"This I guess" I shrug with a small smile to her

"Lampwick" She asks "do you wanna come inside? I have pie?" She offered

"I don't know y/n" I said a little nervous

"Well, you know where to find me" she smiled, kissing my cheek before she went back off up the beach towards her little house.

I sighed I hated myself but I grabbed some things and followed close behind her.

I have come to know y/n very well, she actually believed it or not the same age as me even if she was much more mature than I was. We always knew each other fairly well but over the last couple of years I'd gotten to know her... very well.

She takes me in every so often, feeds me, lets me stay there all for a trade I was never really happy with.

Y/n was married, her father insisted on it. Her husband is...away a lot he's barely ever there anymore so when he's not. I am.

I hated myself for what I was doing, shacking up with a married woman all because she feeds me and gives me a place to sleep while I do, I felt like a whore like I was selling my body for food and shelter. Not that I didn't enjoy being with her if it wasn't for her husband I wouldn't mind hell I'd she wasn't married I'd have married her by now. But the fact her husband had no idea about me he didn't even know I existed many times they had walked past me in the street she would secretly blow me kisses while he had no idea.

Once we arrived at her little house she gave me some food and some clean warm clothes taking the ones I had been wearing so she could wash them. Once I finished up I was eager just to get to bed and get some rest when a crying erupted from the other room

"Ooh I'll get it" she says hurrying off a moment I couldn't help but get up and go over to the door… continuing the other reason I was so unsure about all this.

I peeked into the little room full of painted wooden toys, and a few plush bears the little crib in the centre where y/n stood picking up her daughter who was crying rather loudly little maddie she was only just a year old now "shh shh shh it's okay, it's okay mummies here" she cooed y/n saw me in the doorway and smiled "maddie, maddie darling look who's here" she smiled moving maddie so she could see me too and she instantly stopped crying

"Daddy" she giggled

"Hey kiddo" I laughed taking maddie from y/n gently bouncing her

"She misses you when arthur's here" y/n says

"Well she doesn't see him all that much, I don't think she really knows who he is" I explain

"Uummmm… he's only seen her twice" she says "he gets upset with her sometimes, she won't call him daddy"

"Why not?"

"Because she thinks your her daddy" she laughed kissing my cheek and heading off to do something else as soon as maddie got sleepy I tucked her back in bed and went back out to find y/n who was cleaning up the dishes

"Y/n… am I Maddie's father?"

"Lampwick… I told you already I don't know" she says "I have my theory's who's her father"

"Which are?"

"Well the first half of the month arthur was here and the second you were so that's no help" she sighed "just working mathematically it's much more likely she's yours" she explained "and she's a blondie" she giggled kissing my head

"But?"

"But… facility she doesn't look like you" she says

"She looks like you" I laughed

"Aww thank you" she smiled "I don't know lampwick I really don't, maybe when she's older I'll be able to tell a little easier" she explained "she thinks your her daddy"

"I know she does, I just… I barely see her. If she's my daughter then I don't want arthur raising her not if she's mine y/n"

"I know"

"But it's not even like we can do anything, even if by some magic you and arthur did get a divorce and we could be together...what if Maddie's not mine? What if she is Arthur's? She barely knows him she thinks I'm her father, I couldn't take her away from him"

"I wish I knew lampwick honest I do, and if I was sure of course I'd divorce arthur to be with you" she smiled nuzzling close to my neck "come on let's get to bed" she smiled tugging my hand towards her bedroom ...
