I could smell my own fear
I could feel that the beast was near
It hid in every nook and every cranny
of my body, mangled and scrawny
I could see my bones breaking out
I could taste iron in my mouth
The wall was splattered with blood
And I fell to my knees with a shattering thud
I could hear myself eviscerating her
But I couldn’t fight the raging cur
How it ended? I do not know
But the guilt follows me wherever I go
