Whoosh.

Uhh..

The sound of rushing wind whipping past his face was loud and but soft.

What?

It’s dark, incredibly, so much so that it’s almost impossible to see.

Who?

He reaches out, his arm stretched into nothingness, only to realize that his arm won’t respond. In fact, he can’t even feel his legs, or anything for that matter; just the rush of wind flowing upwards his back. None of his limbs are working, responding.

He can’t move. Not an inch.

Where am I?

A hint of light glimmers in the left corner of his eye, causing him to blink. He slowly cranes his neck to the direction it came from, and watches the creeping rays of dawn breakthrough the blackish-blue hues of night. As the sun slowly ascends, he sees clouds break, revealing the ocean, vast and mysterious, stretching for miles on end to an unknown destination as far as the eye can see, while further in the direction under him, a large landmass was ascending to meet him.

Uhh.. my head, why does it hurt?

He blinked again, and felt a warm fuzzy feeling snaking its ways throughout his body, until it alighted upon his fingers and toes. He looked at his left hand, and watched as a cloud was sliced by his numb appendage. And it is here that he realizes the obvious.

He was falling. Falling from an absurdly height.

But how? He wondered, how could I—

Boom!

The sound erupted with such force and intensity that it snapped him out of his weariness for a brief moment. It was close, and yet it seemed so far away, before a flash of light struck passed him. It lasted but only a second, but the searing heat it gave off was unbearably painful as it zoomed past him just a mere foot and a half away from his cheek.

“Ach!”, he exclaimed, wincing.

Even though it hardly touched him, the intensity of energy it gave felt like a hot knife slicing through butter, the sensation of his skin searing off, and his flesh cooking like raw meat, even though there was no abrasion whatsoever. He tried to move his hand cup his face, only to be splashed by warm red liquid.

“Wha—“, he started, only to look at his hand.

There were deep cuts in his wrist, and blood was falling up ward into the sky.

How did I—

Ka-Boom! Ka-Pow!

The explosions were stronger now, so much so that the vibrations they gave off could be felt by him even as he fell through the sky. Then.

Ka-Bang!

Another one this time happening above him. He winced, and tried to shield his face, as a watched as a massive chunk of land had flung into the air exploding into thousands of shards of rock and ground as what looked like a building was destroyed by the sheer force of the blast. Another explosion leveled the already crumbling structure, before it fell out his view, tumbling back to the earth. And then he saw it: a large sea clouds covering the area in which the chunk of land came from, obscuring his view. He was falling into it. Thunder rumbled and lighting cackled in this cloudy expanse, and it was very clear to him now, that whatever lay under there was surely and most undoubtedly dangerous and would kill him without hesitation.

Oh god, he thought, why is this happening?

In a few minutes, he would be subject to whatever horrible thing lay beneath the clouds, and all the while his mind was as blank as a corpse.

What do I do? He wondered, what can I--?

He didn’t get a chance to finish.

Ka-Plow!

A new explosion belched out, this time directly under him. He screamed in pain as the fireball singed his back and legs, only to have the scream curtly smacked out of him by a slab of crumbling pavement. He gasped for air as his tumbling body was soundly punched and kicked, juggled by the debris that surrounded him before a smaller explosion cleared the debris away just as the sea of clouds swallowed him whole. Rain soaked him to the bone as the rushing wind caused him to shiver, and lightning cackled around him as the thunder roared loudly deafening his already fragile ears. He screamed again, his voice fighting against the raging storm he found himself inside of. The swirling maelstrom tossing him to and fro, while shapes of creatures, human and otherwise, twisted and writhed about him, created intense battles of natural and unnatural phenomena.

And then.

Something that popped into my head late night. I couldn't sleep, not much, but I woke up early this morning and started writing. I hope you like it.

Amrielle was always weak at heart. Abused and bullied at home, at school, it seemed he was always destined to be so. And then his near brush with death only further damaged his fragile state.
Those types of scars never truly healed, and so he took his own life. Or at least he though he did. Now awoken in an alternate universe where everything and everyone wants him dead, Amrielle is forced to stand up for himself and fight for the right to live.

But with more secrets surrounding his own origins, and the looming danger his presence poses not only for the world he's fallen into, but also the world he left behind, Amrielle must now confront his own broken past in the hopes of finding an answer to question of his own uncertain future.

A random story that popped into my head.

Status: Currently in Hiatus.
As with my other story, given the sudden changes I've experienced in life, this story will be pushed aside in favor of taking a new direction. I may continue this story in the future, but as of now, I have yet to decide as to when.
