Mr. Lucas was a forty-something-year-old science teacher, with thick round glasses and a pudgy body, that had no patience for kids that didn't want to learn. He turned around from the chalkboard where he was writing complex formulas, used to find the different locations of alternate worlds, and saw a young student with dark hair staring a cross in his hand and immediately call him out. "Mr. Moore are you paying attention?".

The young man said "uh sorry what were you saying" Mr. Lucas decided that he would make an example of the young man.

"Well since you believe you don't have to pay attention in class why don't you stay during lunch and clean the rooms".

        Jason realized he was being made into an example by the man so he just accepted the punishment. A few hours later it was time for lunch and Jason was headed back to the science class to clean. When he got there he was surprised to see Amanda sitting there waiting for him. She saw Jason walk in and immediately she blush and put her head down.

"h-hey Jason," she said nervously.

"what's up shouldn't you be at lunch right now?" Jason asked her with a curious look.

" I thought you wouldn't want to be alone so I-I came to keep you company if that's ok with you if not I can go, I down want to trouble you at all" She stammered look nervously at the ground.

" No you can stay I don't mind". he replied with a smile. as he walked over to get an eraser to clean the board the sky turned pitch black and the ground started to shake wildly.

        At the same time around 30 miles away from the high school in underground secret facility men were running around checking data and making sure everything was ready, sitting near an elevator was a forty-year-old pudgy man overseeing the lab The elevator door opened and out stepped a thin man in a navy blue trench coat and purple mask decorated with gold runes running down the left side of it.

"Is the portal ready yet Professor Lucas?" Asked the masked man looking at the man who was overseeing all that was going on in the lab.

"Yes we can activate it once all the servers are fully functional in about 10 seconds" replied Lucas. He then pushed a button and a large round ring came into view. Lucas looked at the masked man waiting for permission to activate the portal and when the man gave a nod he pressed the large button. Within the ring, a black shadow like substance filled it making it impossible to see through, for a moment everything was still when suddenly alarms started going off and the masked man wanted to know what was happening when suddenly a scream rang out and one of the researchers started to be enveloped in a thick black smoke soon all the researchers were caught up in the same black smoke. By this time both Lucas and the masked man were in the elevator about to close the door when Lucas felt a push on his back and was throned out of the elevator.

He heard a low chuckle and the masked man say "sorry no one else can know what happened here" then smoke caught Lucas and the elevator doors close. a few moments later the portal exploded.
