What was wrong with me? Was I so ... useless? Or was I just unwanted? Well, maybe that was it ... No one had ever given me the love and affection I needed, not even my parents, for them I was nothing more than a ballast, a useless weight that they would carry around until death. But why was I a burden? Why was I unwanted? I didn't feel like I did anything wrong. Well, because of me, my parents had to marry, forced by their parents, because they wanted to give me a father and a mother ... because I was not a child of anyone, but I was only the fruit of an accident. You know, those accidents that often happen to young people ... I was one of them. But it wasn't my fault that I was born! So why? Why all this hate? I just wanted to live a normal life! We all have the right to have one, right? So why couldn't I have it?
My looks didn't help either.
Even though I was now 16, I was so skinny it felt like I could break at any moment. My hair was short and pitch black. The face like that of a child and the skin so pale it looks like that of a corpse. The eyes, on the other hand, were so light grey that they looked like those of a blind man.
Was this my mistake? My appearance? Or my clumsy and awkward attitude?
Home felt like hell. Each one lived on its own as if the others did not exist. If we hadn't lived in the same house, no one would ever have mistaken us for a family. There were no sweet words, there was no family warmth, there was only a monotonous and continuous silence interspersed with violence.
Yet ... that seemed an ordinary day, one like any other, but I could never have made such a big mistake.
It was a simple spring day, I had woken up, dressed and left trying not to meet my parents' eyes, walking with my head down, just like I was taught.
The hours passed slowly and boring, especially at school: as usual, after all.
At school, I was used to everything: the insults, the threats, the hostile looks.
Was I so wrong?
That was the only day of the week we went out at seven p.m., due to two projects that took a long time.
As soon as the bell rang, I almost ran out of class and then school. No, I didn't want to get hit one more time, not this time.
Once out on the street, the noise of the car horns hit me with all its power and the air was fresh. It was already dark and the street lamps weren't enough to completely illuminate the streets small areas were shrouded in shadow, but this did not mean that the city would stop: the cars ran along the road as if they were participating in a race.
I took the usual road, it was the shortest but also the least safe since there was no reliable lighting, and one side of the road was bordered by the woods. Nobody set foot there, it was dark and dangerous. There were even people who said they saw glowing eyes inside it.
I adjusted the shoulder strap and walked faster, I didn't want to stop in such a place.
A sudden thud and a warning siren made me jump. I turned and saw them ...
Three men, one behind the other, come out of the bank that overlooked the street with bags full of what must have been money ...
One of the three was not wearing a balaclava and despite the darkness, I managed to make out his features. I was petrified by that scene, I couldn't move, not even a muscle. They were also armed. What was I supposed to do?
Trembling, I managed to step back, but fell to the ground, drawing attention to myself.
"Ehi you!" shouted the unprotected one aiming the silenced pistol at me.
The courage I didn't think I had given me the strength to get off the ground and run as far as possible. Unfortunately, the only way I could take and where I would be safe was the forest.
Screams of rage followed my escape ...
I ran, ran and ran until I felt my lungs explode, but my pursuers didn't stop and I couldn't let them catch up with me.
Ashot.
A scream.
Two laughs.
The bullet lodged in my right shoulder painfully and with such force that I fell to the ground. I rolled on a carpet of leaves with an unbeatable crunch.
I groaned in pain and squeezed my shoulder in my left hand: it hurt like hell. I looked at the blood-soaked hand and blanched.
The laughter of the two men reached me even sooner than I thought. I had no more hope! I would have died! They would have killed me ...
Perhaps that was one of the less terrible things ... no one would have noticed me missing, no one would cry for my death ... The very thought made me cry.
"Look! What happens? Are you crying? ”One laughed.
The other pressed the gun against my face following the laughter of his companion.
"Hey! But it's a boy! It seemed a female! " he leaned over me, I could feel his breath on my neck. "And I wanted to have some fun!"
"Why? Don't you want to have fun now?" a light of madness lit up in the man's eyes. "It shouldn't be that different and it looks just like a girl."
He threw the gun on the ground and knelt on the ground, licked his lips and stroked mine with his fingers; while the other forcefully opened my legs and slipped between them.
"N-no, p-please, no," I stammered, trembling.
The only answer I received was a burst of amused laughter from the two of them.
I tried to escape, but it was all in vain. My body, weak and wounded, could not compete with those two.
Furthermore, the blood did not stop coming out of the wound, slowly consuming all the strength I had, or that I had left, making escape even more impossible, even just rebelling was unthinkable. My thoughts clouded over, I would soon pass out and I didn't even dare imagine what those two would do. They already have taken off my shirt and their tongues danced ravenously on my body.
In addition to the pain of the wound, there was also the cold of the night and the disgust of what they were doing to me.
Suddenly I heard a cry.
With what little strength I had left I turned towards the origin of that cry and what I saw made me return the strength to shout: the lifeless body of the man next to me was lying on the ground while his head was a few meters further away. Now, in his place, was another man, much bigger and much more terrifying.
The man between my legs stood up with his gun in his hand and shivered backwards.
Now, even if I was free, now that no one was holding me, I still couldn't move, I couldn't find the strength. I was lying down motionless waiting for imminent death. What else could I do?
"YOU!" the man still alive barked.
There was a shot, then another and another, finally a cry and not of pain, but fear.
«Try again, you'll be luckier ...» said the mysterious man.
Soon after, the man who had shot fell to the ground with a thud and I could see his lifeless eyes.
"And now it's your turn!"
I didn't know if that man would save me or kill me as he did with those two, but neither option seemed the best.
“Let's see if you finally learn your lesson! This is my territory! "
A large hand grabbed me by the neck and I lift myself into the air as if I weigh less than air. He squeezed hard and soon I found myself without oxygen in my lungs, it hurt, but I didn't rebel, I just had to wait in silence for the end.
Although I was about to die, the thing that mattered to me at that moment and that intrigued me was to see his face, the face of someone who was liberating me and who was killing me.
I couldn't, I fainted even before I caught a glimpse of his features.
Finally, the eternal ox filled my eyes and I was able to let myself go once and for all. Maybe it wouldn't have been so bad to die, it's a little painful, but it would finally be the end ...
