In the world of Omegaverse, humans have one of the three secondary sexes. Those secondary sexes form around adolescence and can be determined through examinations. To ensure the accuracy of the result, sex examinations are carried out twice throughout middle school and high school. The examinations are usually conducted through school grounds. There is also an alternative for free examinations available on hospitals that can be conducted upon request.
THE SECONDARY SEXES
Alpha (α)
Alpha makes up 20% of the population. Considered the ‘superior’ sex, known for having superior intelligent, built, and strength. A lot of Alphas are said to be successful simply because they are Alphas. Both female and male Alphas can impregnate Omegas and female Betas. Alphas can also be impregnated, though the chance is extremely low. Alphas react to Omega’s pheromone and can mark them.
Beta (β)
Beta makes up 70% of the population. Considered mediocre. A good majority of people are Beta. They can’t detect and won’t be affected by an Omega’s pheromone. They also can’t get intimidated by an Alpha’s pheromone. Can’t mark an Omega, nor being marked by an Alpha. Only female Betas can get pregnant. Male Betas can impregnate both Beta and Omegas, though the possibility of impregnating a male Omega is quite low.
Omega (Ω)
Omegas makes up 10% of the population. Used to be discriminated, though they are more accepted in the society now. Omegas can release pheromone during heat which usually happens once every three months. Omegas have the highest chance of pregnancy, especially dominant Omegas. Male Omegas have a low chance of impregnating other Omegas or Betas. Most unmarked Omegas wear protective collar on their neck to avoid being marked by an unwanted Alpha.
DOMINANT AND RECESSIVE
Alphas and Omegas who are dominant exhibit their secondary sexes trait early, even before the sex examination. Dominant Alphas have stronger pheromones and stamina, and able to smell Omega's pheromone from afar. Dominant Omegas have longer and more scheduled heat period, and higher chance of pregnancy even outside of heat.
Alphas and Omegas who are recessive exhibit their secondary sexes trait late, or known as late bloomer. Some recessive exhibit their secondary sexes trait on the second sex examinations, some exhibits those traits in their 20's. Recessive Alphas have weak pheromones, and lack of inability to spot an Omega's scent. Recessive Omegas have shorter heat period, irregular period schedule, and weaker pheromones. Recessive male Omegas have smaller chance of getting pregnant, even during heat.
MATING AND MARKING SYSTEM
Omega will release pheromones during their heat period, which lasted for around a week. At this period of time, Omegas have a higher chance to get pregnant. The pheromones can lure Alphas and cause Alphas to go into rut. Alpha that bites an Omega’s nape during heat period will form a bond. The bond can’t be undone. The pheromone of Omegas that have been marked by an Alpha will no longer affect any other Alpha aside from their mate.
ESTRUS (HEAT PERIOD)
Heat period for Omegas lasted for about a week, once every three months. There is also an exception where Omegas have an irregular schedule. Heat can also be triggered when an Omega is near their fated Alpha. Omegas that have mates can no longer affect another Alpha, though they still have their heat periods. Heat can be suppressed with suppressants.
SUPPRESSANTS
There are two types of suppressant: pills and inhibitor. Suppressant pills are prescribed for Omegas to suppress their pheromones around the time of their heat. On the other hand, there are two types of inhibitors: one for Omega and one for Alpha. The Omega inhibitors are used when they suddenly go into heat. The Alpha inhibitors are used to prevent Alphas from getting affected by the Omega’s pheromone.
FATED PAIR
Although such a rare chance and considered a myth, there are a few numbers of Alphas and Omegas who are fated pair. Alphas and Omegas that are fated pair will react to each other the first time they see each other.
