Black shadows, darker than the dark itself and as thick as smoke, spew out of the amulet, curling around my body like hundreds, thousands of slender, cold tendrils. Their mere contact with my body sends a shiver down my spine.
Confused as to what's happening and where I am, I attempt to scream but all that escapes my mouth is air. My breathing is now leaving my mouth as shallow pants, turning into a thin mist in front of my face.
Beads of sweat roll down my forehead, leaving trails of moisture behind them, as I struggle to move my arms, or any limb for that matter. But with every movement the tendrils wrap tighter around my body.
The shadows continue to swirl around my body, swallowing it inch by inch with its cold emptiness. Emptiness. The feeling overwhelms me as they make my muscles convulse.
I frantically search my surroundings, but everything is dark, not even the moon that is high above my head shines a single ray of light onto anything around me.
My gaze snaps back to the monstrosity which is now wrapping itself around my neck, making its way towards my face. My legs go numb as I feel it reach my feet, tightening around my ankles.
My eyes widen when the shadows wrap at the top of my head, encasing my entire body in its darkness. My eyes screw shut as hundreds of jumbled voices fill my ears, screeching words that I can only assume are from a different language. A tear rolls down my cheek when they finally stop their verbal torture.
I gasp for air, gagging when I accidentallyinhale the shadow. A stinging pain rushes through my lungs as their filled withthe fumes of this atrocious thing. The air is sucked from my lungs, replaced bythe shadows. The sudden absence of oxygen in makes me lightheaded, my bodyfalls to the ground, immediately going limp.
