Hearing the young girl's question. Ryan, Emily and Luke all looked at one another as silence pervaded the room.
After what seemed to be a long while, Luke opened his mouth as he spoke calmly. "Currently, you're in our headquarters."
"H-Headquarters...?" The young girl was taken aback after hearing his answer.
"Yes. The headquarters of Zephyr."
"The headquarters of Zephyr?" She repeated to herself, "How did I end up here? The last thing I remembered was that I was in the alleyway, and then..."
"You were attacked by a few people and Ryan came to save you."
"Ryan?" She blinked at the name, suddenly she remembered the introduction from earlier. Quickly, she turned towards the white-haired male—Ryan. "Was he the one who brought me here?"
"Yeah, I was the one who brought you here," Ryan replied back. "After the whole incident, you fell unconscious and since you were injured, we had to bring you here to treat your wounds."
"...I see," The young girl muttered as she looked at the bandages on her leg.
"Ahem, now that this is settled. Would you mind answering some questions for us?" Luke inquired.
"...I'll try my best to answer." The young girl meekly said.
"Good, good. Firstly... Would you tell us your name?"
"My name? Ah... Right..." The girl thought to herself for a few seconds in order to remember her name. "It's... Jinia."
"Jinia? I see. That is a nice name you have there," Luke smiled at the answer.
"Thank you..."
"Now then... Let's move on. Do you remember who or why they were attacking you?"
Jinia shook her head. "No. I do not... When I try to remember, everything's a blur. All I remember is that I was being chased and then I ended up here."
"Hmm... I see." Luke nodded his head in understanding.
"Then, if you don't remember who or why they were attacking you... Do you at least know where you're from?" Emily asked.
"Where I'm from?" Jinia blinked at the question.
"Right, which part of the city are you from?"
"Uh..." As Jinia was lost in thought, she helplessly shook her head. "Sadly... I don't know where I'm from either. The only thing I seem to remember vividly is my name."
"I see. Then, if you only remember your name, then I guess it is useless to ask other questions," Luke said as he took a sip from his tea.
"I'm sorry for not being able to answer..."
"Ah...! Don't be, Jinia! It's not your fault that you can't remember... So please don't blame yourself." Emily hurriedly said.
"Yeah. It's probably coming as a shock to you which is why you can't remember..." Ryan said, "I think you should rest up a bit more, then we can continue talking tomorrow."
"...Alright, I will." Jinia nodded her head.
"Hmph, how funny coming from you." Emily glared at Ryan.
"Ack- I'll go to rest too alright?" Ryan coughed at Emily's glare.
"Yeah sure... We'll see about that."
"Haha... Anyways, Emily, would you mind taking Jinia back to her room?" Luke asked as he stood up.
"Oh, sure! But then, who will make sure stubborn Ryan will rest up?"
"Don't worry about that, I'll take him up since I have to see master Zeke."
"Luke..." Ryan helplessly looked at Luke.
"Aha... It's been a long day for us." Luke chuckled, "Come now, let us just rest for the night."
"Yeah, yeah..." Ryan sighed as he got up from the couch.
As he got up, Ryan heard a voice from the side of him.
"Thank you for saving me, Ryan..."
Upon hearing the voice, Ryan turned to the side to see Jinia bowing to him in gratitude.
"No problem, I was just doing what I always do." Ryan smiled as he and Luke walked away towards the elevator.
"Make sure you get some rest, Ryan!!" From behind him, he could hear Emily's voice.
...
Zephyr's Headquarters—7:31 P.M.
Ryan and Luke walked through the hallways as they entered into the elevator.
"So, what do you think about the situation Ryan?" Luke asked as they got into the elevator. While doing so, he pressed on the number '4' on the buttons.
"The situation? Well... I'm not so sure what to think about it, if she doesn't remember anything, then she'll have to stay here for the time being right?" Ryan replied back.
"It seems so. I'll need to report this to master Zeke."
"Right..."
"Besides the description you gave on her attackers, was there anything out of the blue?"
"Nothing. They were just men in black who were chasing after the girl... I don't know what group they affiliate with."
"I see... I'll relay this to master Zeke to see what he thinks."
"Right. Thanks, Luke," Ryan said his thanks as the elevator door opened.
"It's nothing. Anyways, you should head to your room now before Emily starts to kill you for not resting."
"Aha... I will, I will." Ryan took a step forward, "Have a good night Luke."
"Have a good night too."
The elevator door closed as it moved to the next floor.
...
Opening the door to his quarters, Ryan stepped inside and drew close to the window, looking out on the night city. Citizens making their back home through the streets or having a night out could be seen.
'Phew... What a day.' Ryan let out a tired breath as he gazed at the streets. 'I hope I can get an easier day tomorrow...'
He continued to let out a tired breath, as he suddenly saw a pinked haired woman walking out of the headquarters in a classy get-up.
"...?" He blinked at the sight. "Velvet?"
Seeing the sight through the window, he helplessly sighed. "...Well it's her usual thing I guess. I hope she doesn't get too drunk and cause trouble..."
Ryan shrugged as he headed towards the bed. "Well, whatever... I'm beat. I hope dad won't give me any missions tomorrow... Granted, I'm hurt... So, I don't think he will anyways..."
Ryan's muttered to himself as his tired eyelids closed. Quickly, he drifted off into a slumber.
