The King and the Gem

Chapter Three: Thorns

Chapter Three: Thorns

Oct 14, 2020

The King always said, “Every thorn, though pain is caused, is a part of you. At the core, it is only there to protect you. It always will.”

When I wanted to dance for me, it wasn't time. When I wanted to sing for myself, it wasn't allowed. When I wanted to see the garden, it was promised.

Every thorn of every rose caused me pain. In a garden of no roses, there are no thorns.

In a room with no King, there is no gem.

Every thorn is only there to protect you.

But the King was a liar because I was left alone.

I don't like liars.
