To the gem, this new outside world was one where it’s beloved King had perished. Unannounced and unknowingly. It was dangerous outside of the walls. It always will be.
Regardless of the pain in the gem's chest, no pain was greater than the pain of the King being gone.
With a new ruler in place, out of the shadows and unknown, they boarded up every vacant home, shut every gate leading to the outside walls, and patrolled soldiers, creating a whole New World, right inside these very walls.
It was safe for many, but others had left when they had the chance. Being born in the walls meant that the outside world was a mystery. This opportunity was taken in schools: the outside world was taught to be dangerous and forbidden. It was, wasn’t it?
The more generations to come, the more memories of the outside world became obsolete. Therefore, any spreading information about the outside world, or the former King, were banished. Missing, never to be found...
Why would you ever want to go?
The new ruler was never questioned. Passionate they were. The throne room, where the King had sat, was a relic in time. Guarded, unseated eternally. Cold.
The private room was still just a mystery. Many questioned and rumored of it to not even be real. None, to this day, are able to confirm its existence.
Many are curious. Many wonder why, and how. Many wonder what. The farthest parts of the Castle are always off-limits...but in desolate town, who is to tell who enters here?
With dwindling time, resources and people, every day, parts of the castle are left unguarded.
One last chance. One last hope to learn the truth. It’s written in these pages, to be set free. It’s a hole in a wall. It’s a thorn in a bush.
Find me.
