Well that's definitely an interesting way to start a backstory. I was really under the impression that Rose went back for spinel and told her about pink diamond abandoning her and taking her to Earth. Basically that would be pink trying to make up for the horrible thing that she did to spinel by abandoning her and leaving her to wait for over a thousand years.
