Two weeks later, Suzu was standing at the JR Rail station, a few suitcases at his side as he looked for Hoshi. There were only thirty minutes before they had to board the train and he still wasn’t there.
“Oh god, I’ve been scammed. I’m out ¥1,250,000 and I’m going to wind up set up with like, one of Hinata’s cousins and they’re going to be exactly like Hinata and bouncing off the walls and far too much to handle and—”
“Yuudai-san!” a familiar, silky voice called for him.
Suzu turned and saw a short, wine-haired, figure dragging two large suitcases and two spare bags behind them as they hurried his way.
Hoshi was even more beautiful in person. Suzu shouldn't have been as surprised as he was, but part of him had just assumed the images online had been purposely photoshopped to make Hoshi look more appealing. But now that he was standing there in front of him, Suzu found him just as, if not even more, stunning. Bright blue eyes that shone in the morning light, a lovely smile on his face, very little makeup accentuating already beautiful features, a perfectly tailored suit that fit quite nicely on his form, and neatly braided hair. Suzu was honestly a little speechless looking down at his date for the next five days.
Should he have dressed better? He nervously reached up at his hair, suddenly feeling completely self-conscious for the first time in years about his hairstyle as Hoshi got closer.
‘Why did I wear it up like this today? I should have styled it differently!’ Suzu fretted to himself, giving a slight tug at his trademark violet-dyed twin-tails.
He had never really cared what people thought of his hairstyle before. He knew it wasn’t super conventional for a guy but it had always worked for him. But now looking at how utterly gorgeous Hoshi truly was, he felt completely underwhelming with his juvenile hairstyle and casual clothing.
‘There is no way anyone will believe I'm actually with this man. This is already a failure before it began!’
“Good morning, Yuudai-san,” that same silky voice from just a few weeks ago greeted him so casually.
Suzu actually couldn’t speak for a moment.
This was actually happening now. Hoshi was real. Hoshi was actually real. He had not been scammed. He was here and talking to Suzu as though they weren’t involved in a business transaction.
“G-Good morning Hoshi,” he said, mentally cursing himself for sounding so nervous, “that’s quite a lot of luggage for five days.”
The redhead laughed. It was a sound Suzu realized he had missed from their phone call. A sound he was excited to hear for the next few days.
“Looking this good takes quite a bit of accessories, Yuudai-san. Which is also why I’m a little late, sorry about that! But I made it!”
Suzu smiled, “We still have about twenty minutes, so it’s not too big of a deal. Do you um, want a coffee or anything?”
“Oh no, I’m good, I also grabbed Starbucks on the way, another reason I showed up 15 minutes late,” he said amused, “but we should start getting our stories straight, so to say.”
“Stories?” Suzu asked, tilting his head a bit.
“Yeah, how we met, any background info I should know about you that any of your typical boyfriends would know, what kind of background you’d like for me to have, that kind of stuff.”
“O-Oh, right. I suppose that would make it a bit more believable, wouldn’t it?”
“That’s the idea! So,” Hoshi sat down on the bench, “tell me a bit about the event and yourself.”
Suzu sat down, a few spaces apart from Hoshi, “Um, sure.”
Hoshi scooted a bit closer to Suzu, smiling and ready to listen. Suzu prayed he couldn’t hear the rapid beating of his heart.
