The train ride was interesting, to say the least. Saku was very talkative, asking more questions about Suzu—obviously just to get some background and cover their tracks—but it felt very much like a first date. Though, Suzu couldn’t get a ton out of the other. Which made sense, given this was a job and not at all a real date. But, Suzu could admit he enjoyed watching the other and listening to him.
“Suzu-kun? Suzu-kun are you listening? Or do I just have you that captivated?”
Suzu felt his cheeks heat up again, “Sorry…”
Saku laughed and nudged him, “It’s fine. That’ll be perfect when we’re selling our relationship. Now tell me, how do you feel about PDA?”
“Er, honestly I’m not a huge fan of being that affectionate in public. Handholding and maybe like a light kiss or something are fine. But I don’t want to make a scene or anything.”
The redhead nodded, “Fair enough. So, what do you like in the bedroom?”
Now Suzu was pretty sure he was completely red, “W-What?”
“You know, like do you have any kinks or preferences I should be aware of?”
How could Saku just ask something like that? Especially with so many other people around? Suzu’s eyes darted around, checking to see if anyone was listening.
But there wasn’t a single soul giving them any mind.
Except for maybe one guy who was very clearly interested in Saku’s appearance more than what he was saying.
“Well? Suzu-kun? You can tell me whatever, I won’t judge!”
“I-I err what? We…I mean…that’s not why I—”
Suzu was stumbling over his words and felt like a damn fool. Why did Saku have to bring this up now–or at all?!
Saku laughed again, “Suzu-kun, we’re going to be together for five days,” he leaned close to Suzu, his lips brushing against Suzu’s ears as he said the next part, “and I’m all yours for those days.”
Suzu’s heart was beating rapidly against his chest and he was almost afraid it would beat right out. Of course, he knew what escorts were all about, but he hadn’t even thought about having sex with Saku.
Well ok, maybe he wouldn’t go that far. He just hadn’t thought that sex with Saku would actually happen. He wasn’t paying for that after all, he was paying for companionship. That was it.
Then again, considering the escort company had required him to send up-to-date medical records, he should have expected this conversation.
But that didn't mean he was ready for it.
Still, he shook his head and moved away from Saku, looking at him.
“No, you don’t have to. That’s not why I hired you, Saku.”
“Mmm, but why not indulge yourself, Suzu-kun? I promise you won’t be disappointed.”
Saku leaned closer again, but this time his lips were so close to Suzu’s. He felt temptation rise and it took more effort than he’d like to admit to pull back some.
“I… l-let’s just see how the weekend goes.”
Saku shrugged, leaning back in his seat, “Alright. It’s totally up to you. Like I said, I’m yours for the next five days. So long as you aren’t going to do anything illegal or beat me or whatever, you pretty much have free reign. But I do have some boundaries, so if it’s, like, really weird I need a head’s up.”
“Uh, right.”
The redhead didn’t seem deterred by Suzu’s reaction one bit and kept chitchatting, pausing every so often to check his phone until at some point, the talking slowed down, then suddenly stopped. Suzu glanced over to find that Saku had dozed off.
He took the time to admire Saku’s features. It wasn’t hard to believe that he was popular as an escort. Though, Suzu couldn’t help but wonder why he was in this line of work. Just given his personality—which hopefully wasn’t completely fake—he was definitely someone Suzu wouldn’t actually mind getting to know and even, well, date for real. He was very clearly not Suzu’s usual type, but there was something alluring about Saku. Something that had just drawn Suzu in.
At least, if nothing else, this was going to be a very interesting experience. He reached out to brush a strand of hair from Saku’s face when he felt his phone buzz.
“Surely Arata isn’t asking where I am already,” Suzu muttered as he pulled it out to check.
The name that lit up on his screen caused his stomach to drop.
Jiro.
It was the last person he wanted to talk to.
Quickly, he ignored the call, but that didn’t stop the confused and somewhat panicked thoughts from circling his brain.
What the hell was Jiro calling for? And why now? It was almost like Jiro had sensed Suzu had thought about him. But that was once! How could he have—
There was a soft sigh beside him, and he glanced over catching as Saku moved close to him, his head resting on Suzu’s shoulder. The weight of Saku against him suddenly calming him down, grounding him. He smiled as he stared at the sleeping beauty again.
Whatever Jiro wanted didn’t matter. Suzu had someone else to pay attention to this weekend.
‘I guess I am literally paying him to pay attention to me, aren’t I?’ Suzu mused to himself as he gently stroked Saku’s face.
