Darkness.
Total darkness.
Crouching in the corner of this darkness, so cold and silent.
My senses do not obey.
Tic,
tok,
tic,
the sound of a clock somewhere.
I haven’t slept in days because of them. Those vile foul creatures, hurting, torturing me. I have waited so long for
someone,
something
to rescue me.
So exhausted, I let sleep take me over.
Just as I close my eyes, the door busted open,
flooding the darkness with light.
A figure ran to me, hugging me, saying,
"It’s all right, I have you now, none of them will get you.”
I never felt safer in the arms of a murderer.
