Mist blew into my face.
The wild wind howled and whipped my hair around.
This is the place where I feel calm.
Gray clouds gathered, almost blocking the sun.
I wiggled gritty and coarse sand in between my toes.
This is the place where I feel calm.
I let anger, sadness, and joy wash over me,
So that I may feel whole again.
This is the place where I feel calm.
Small creatures hiding in the rocks,
Waiting to be found.
This is the place where I feel calm.
Shells scattered everywhere.
There! There's a sand dollar!
This is the place where I feel calm.
My mind was a raging ocean.
My mind is a still creek.
This is the place where I feel calm.
The waves came in and out,
Drawing me . . . in and out.
This is the place where I feel calm.
