Aiden stood in the small room he was given. The room had a twin-sized bed pressed against the corner to his left and a small nightstand lay next to it. The nightstand supported a small lamp with a mosaic glass dome sitting on top. A small wardrobe stood next to the door, it was mostly empty, it contained a second pillow and an extra blanket.
There was a window smack dab in the middle of the wall letting in the suns rays. Two cream colored curtain hung on either side, small cream straps bolted to the frame half them securely. As he approached the window he noted that the curtains were actually quite thick and would be more than adequate to keep the light out.
He gazed out the window and saw a huge vegetable garden, laughter streamed into the room from people tending to it and children weaving in and out of the rows.
Tentatively he reached out and swung the window open. Fresh air flooded the room making Aiden sigh. A few eyes glanced his way, non seemed to be interested in what he was doing and went back to their work.
Two sets of eyes peered up at him, they both supported thick black hair and stormy gray eyes. The girl had her hair in a braid, while the boy’s was styled short. He leaned out the window so they didn't have to stand on their toes to look in.
"Who are you?" the little girl asked. Aiden opened his mouth to speak but before he could get a word out she continued.
"I'm Aya and this is my brother Lucas." she beamed up at him "Do you want to play?"
Airen held up his hand before she could as any more questions. He smiled wondering who had sired such beautiful children. Clearing his throat he answered all her questions in order.
"My name is Aiden Summers. It's a pleasure to meet both of you and I'm afraid I'm not allowed to leave the room. So I can’t come and play." he finished smiling down at them.
They both let their heads fall to one side and scrunched their brows. I unison the asked. "Why not?"
Aiden’s arched a brow "Why I can't play or why I can't leave?"
This seemed to sump them, they looked at each other then back at him.
"Both," they said in unison once more.
Aiden wondered how he should explain his current predicament.
"The packs Alpha doesn't want me to leave so he put me in this room.” he finished swaying on his elbows.
The twins looked a bit confused but nodded their heads as if in understanding. Then as if some great idea struck the girl she beamed.
"Why don't we come and play in there?" she didn't even wait for a response before she started ordering her brother around to help her climb through the window.
Before Aiden could stop it they were both perched on his bed and looking around. He looked back out at the patrons in the garden but no one was paying any mind, a few just pointed and laughed at what they just witnessed. No one rushed forward fearing for the children's safety. Guess he didn't look threatening or wasn’t seen as a threat, either way, he was relieved.
He turned his attention back to the duo wondering what crazy scheme they were thinking up next.
Aya sighed in disappointment as her eyes scanned the room. Aiden looked around as well. There was nothing to entertain them with until Aiden spotted the little bookshelf above the bed and it still contained a few books.
Aiden quickly scanned the titles chewing the corner of his bottom lip. One book caught his eye, it was an adventure book he used to read when he was younger. Maybe Aya and Lucas would like it too, he removed it from the shelf.
"How about a story?." he asked cheerfully.
Aya and Lucas both nodded their heads eagerly and shooter apart leaving room for him to sit in-between. He was just finishing up the first chapter when he heard small shallow breaths coming from both side. Placing the book on the nightstand, very gingerly he eased out from between the twins and grabbed the blanket.
He meant to get out before he covers them up again but Lucas started whimpering as soon as he sat up so he lay back down covering all three of them. No sooner had his head hit the dashboard two arms circled his torso and snuggled in close.
That is how the pack’s Delta Grat found them. He was looking in as the omega was flexing his fingers squeeze his eyes shut.
Aiden wasn't sure how much time had passed but he couldn't feel his arms. He wiggled his fingers to get feeling back into them, he squeezed his eyes shut against the prickling that crawled up his arm.
A snort drew his attention to the window, a pair of light brown eyes met his. He watched as the man's shoulders were shaking while he was trying to hold back his laugh.
"So you're the little omega the pack is buzzing about. I'm Gray the pack's Delta. Looks like you found some friends already good for you. Well good to meet ya.” he sauntered off with a wave.
Before Aiden could speak he was gone. Why do people keep doing that? Just have a one-way conversation then leave. It was infuriating.
Aiden was still staring at the spot he had vacated when Lucas woke up followed by Aya. They were rubbing the sleep out of their eyes when a soft voice called them to dinner.
Aya and Lucas hopped off the bed eager to eat, said their goodbyes, with a promise to play again tomorrow they walked out the door. Aiden waved good bye and got up after a good stretch and fixed the bed. After he was satisfied he turned and walked out the door to find something to eat. He stood in the dimly lit hallway frozen. With a deep sigh, he looked to the ceiling at the realization the door had been open this whole time. He had been sulking and moping around in a room that wasn't even locked. A smile spread across his lips as he shook his head, heading in the direction that carried the scent of food.

A week later he had become very familiar with the comings and goings of the packhouse. In some strange twist of events, he had become part of the team that was in charge of caring for Alpha Hunt’s children.
At the moment he was busy trying to hide because he was not allowed out of the packhouse they were playing hide and seek with a twist inside the keep. The rules were simple hide when it was your turn but if you Wanted to switch spots you could, but if you got caught in between, a chase would ensue. You had to run away and hide again unless the seeker caught you while running then you would be it.
It wasn't all that confusing but it did take a lot of stamina to run back and forth, especially with two energizer bunnies after you. He zoomed past Alpha Hunt’s office door for the second time. His arm came out bearly missing him, Aiden’s eyes sharpened to a wolf's a split second before the hand came into view and using his senses ducked just as his a hand reached out.
He turnerned the corner and slammed into Cid. He was busy apologizing for having knocked into him when a pair if arms encircled his waist, followed by another a moment after.
Aiden still had his head ducked between his shoulders when he heard Cid chuckle and ruffle Aya and Lucas’ heads.
"Be careful now," he drawled and walked around the trio.
Aiden let out a sigh of relief and brought the children back to their afternoon tutor. After dropping them off he went back to his room closing the door and slumped on the bed.
His thoughts drifted back to Mike, and he wondered if his pack was doing okay after the ordea. It was stupid and selfish to hope for his mate to come and get him. Aiden had come with the Blood Moon Pack only under the condition that not a single another resident of the Campbell Pack would come to any more harm. Malachi Hunt had agreed and whisked him away.
But that still didn't squash the hope Aiden carried that Mike would come for him. Perhaps he shouldn't Because every instinct told Aiden that the Malachi had something brewing and Aiden was the main ingredient.
Unable to find rest on the bed he got up, wrapped a blanket around himself before he opened the window inviting the cool autumn air in. It was mid-October and soon the Harvest festival would be celebrated. It was one of Aiden's favorite festivals that had the most delicious foods.
His memory took him back to last year, Mike had bragged about finding his mate before Aiden and how he would seduce her under the swell of the harvest moon. They had laughed and Aiden had teased him about stupid things and enjoying each others company. Mike shortly after became the Pack Alpha and had been too busy to visit not even on Aiden's birthday, even though he had promised.
On the night of his birthday he had a dream a about Mike and them being mates. Fear of rejection had sealed his lips a secret he kept from everyone even from his mother. For almost a year, until his heart could take it anymore. Finely in July, he had confided in his mom about his dream. Not long after Mike came to visit and he has seemed so happy about Aiden being mates, and had readily accepted.
Aiden frowned as he looked out over the forest with yellow, red, and orange leaves swaying in the breeze. Had he imagined it? Maybe Mike was like the rest of his pack, maybe he didn't want a submissive omega as a mate. Was he so easy to throw away? Tears streamed down his face at the chilling thought.
Wiping his tears away he closed the window and curled up in bed. He would wait till his birthday which was on All Hallows Eve at the end of the month if he didn't come by then Aiden figured he would have his answer.
