Noah made it to his room and heaved in resignation. Why hadn't he said anything? The alpha had taken his prey.
It was late afternoon and Noah still hadn't eaten. His stomach rumbled. He had assumed that he would be given the basic commodities as he was a guest at Gael's home. What's more, Gael's soul-mate... but it seemed that, other than Gael's mother, nobody really wanted him around.
He shifted back into his human form and put on his alpha's clothes, which were dirty. He limped towards the windowsill and looked out into the distance, wishing he could be anywhere but here.
Grumble...
Noah made a face of anguish. He was starving.
Knock-knock...
"Come in..." Noah said quietly, not used to anyone that wasn't his mother knocking on the door. He fixed himself up to make him seem as presentable as he could.
Creak
"Sir Noah, how are you faring?" Head-Butler Baldrick asked him.
"I'm fine..." Noah answered back politely. He looked up and the two of them stared face to face. "Although I am a bit hungry..." He said, downplaying his true hunger by a bit.
"The head of the Imperial Crescent Moon Pack, also known as Gael and Reina's mother, has requested you join them for brunch this evening."
Noah's eyebrows jumped at the information.
He blushed, trying to make sense of the situation. 'He must have been overreacting when he thought that he wouldn't be fed.'
He decided to ask Head-Butler Baldrick if Gael was attending as well.
"The young master is still training and says he will continue to train with the other knights... he is, after all, the knights' commander." Baldrick said with a hint of pride. He had been with the young master since he was young, and each moment watched as the child blossomed into an outstanding adult. He glanced at Noah.
'It is up to Sir Noah to prove his worth to be the Luna of our Kingdom. The road will be long and hard. There's just too much to live up to. ' He thought, recalling the incidents that had already occurred on Noah's first day in the castle. 'He doesn't seem aware of the situation he's in. I think it would be better for Young Master Gael to explain it to him rather than I.'
"Now, Sir Noah, let me help you get dressed... and hopefully help you wrap your swollen ankle."
Noah turned at that statement, and began to feel meek at being caught by the elder.
He blushed and licked his lips. "If you don't mind." He said, tilting his head up in embarrassment.
"Of course not, this is my duty." Baldrick chuckled at Noah's reaction.
Newly dressed and bandaged—of course Noah had to take a bath in that vile contraption again. He swore he would never live the memory down. Every bad memory he had happened near some form of water. He was lucky he hadn't developed a phobia of it at some point.
"Sir Noah has arrived." He could hear Baldrick say before opening the doors and leading Noah into the room towards the table where his alpha's family resided.
Noah was shocked to see the multitude of food on the table. It was like a feast for kings and queens. He looked up and noticed Gael sitting next to an empty seat. He shot a glance behind him to Head-Butler Baldrick and received a confused look in return before Baldrick returned to his station near the other butlers and maids, leaving Noah alone.
Noah gulped.
"My lovely Noah, please come here." His alpha's mother called to him.
She was dressed luxuriously in a full-gown ruby red dress. It was adorned with gems and other ruffles. What caught Noah's eye was the crown sitting on top of her head. He finally understood everything. His alpha, Gael, was royalty.
She looked him up and down.
'Gorgeous, simply lovely... he will give birth to many beautiful, healthy babies.'
"My son is extremely lucky to have an omega like yourself."
Seeing the shocked look on his face, she gasped. 'Did I say that out loud? Well, I guess that doesn't matter. ' Her eyes flushed at the innocent reaction she received from the young omega and she spoke up.
"Gael. I'm sure you know what to do. " She looked at Noah's nervous face and wondered why he was making it. Her eyes became sharp for a second after realizing that Noah could have been getting bullied again, before King Leopoldo released his pheromones, calming her down.
Gael stood up and grabbed Noah's hand, before leading him to his chair and having him sit down. They sat opposite the King and Queen, and both Reina and Gael sat beside him. He had to remember to call his alpha by his name.
They began to eat, and Noah, by default, did not know much about etiquette. He didn't know what to do or how to act, so he watched Gael attempting to learn on his own instead.
It was only until Gael looked at him that Noah realized that he had been staring for too long.
The Queen quickly understood the situation.
"Gael, would you mind feeding Noah?" She smirked behind her hand.
Noah was flustered at the idea, and was about to refuse when Gael lifted his fork to Noah's mouth and told him to "eat".
Noah stared into Gael's silvery-gold eyes and his heart beat quickened. He opened his mouth as Gael fed him, and his wolf began howling with joy. Both of them had been touch-starved and emotionally starved for their alpha. Noah's eyes dilated and he happily ate the food he was fed. He would take advantage of this opportunity before Gael suddenly decided to change his personality again. He couldn't keep putting off confronting his alpha.Or maybe... Gael was just doing this because his mother was telling him to.
'Think logically, Noah, your alpha does not love you.' He quickly turned his head, he had just lost his appetite. All the courage he had disappeared in a flash.
As quickly as brunch started, it ended. As Noah was made to stand up, he was told to sit back down and stay in his seat by the Queen.
"Noah, please stay and tell my bull-headed son your wants and needs. You can also complain about anything you are dissatisfied with. If he refuses to change, I will tell him off myself. I've heard how he's been treating you from Reina, and I would like to formally apologize right here. " She looked at Gael, who didn't seem to be as unwilling as she thought. When Gael's mother and the rest left, Noah glanced up at the handsome alpha in front of him, who was in turn looking at him.
"I have a lot of things to say."
