Dakota’s POV
“Ew why are you guys being so gross!” I jumped at the sound of Austin’s whining. I didn’t realize that he was back home already.
“We’re just kissing, asshole” Hunter is still as loving as when we first met.
“Yeah trust me Austin, this is tame. You do not want to have seen the terrors that I have. I still get nightmares” I roll my eyes at Blake’s comment.
“That’s disgusting Blake. It’s still weird cause you guys are...old” Was I this annoying when I was sixteen?
“I know right. You’d think they’d be more appropriate when children are around” I guess Blake never really grew out of the annoying phase.
“Children?! Blake you’re literally forty years old! I’m only in my thirties” I crossed my arms and scowled at him.
“Not me! I do actually have children of my own. You’re the one who’s a grandma here” That’s right Blake managed to find someone to marry him and have children with. He actually has two girls and a baby boy. Hunter loves the girls, but I’m pretty sure that he’s obsessed with little Jonah.
“Hunter, Blake is bullying me” I looked up at Hunter and pouted at him. He rolled his eyes at me, but leant down to give me a kiss.
“I don’t know what you want me to do about it” He shrugged it off.
“What do you mean! You should ground him or something” I grinned evilly, “or you could have him teach the advanced hiit class this week”
“No! I’m really sorry Dakota. Anything but exercise” I still find it amusing how much Blake despises working out. Hunter has lost some muscle after his retirement, but is still in very good shape. Austin actually has turned to athletics like his father, but is more into football at the moment. He actually has his first game of the season tomorrow, and the whole family will be there.
“You’re forgiven for now,” I dismissed him as I shrugged my way out of Hunter’s hold, “and you! Since you were so unwilling to help me, I don’t think I’ll be very willing for anything other than sleep tonight”
“What! Oh fuck you, Blake. Now I’ve gotta deal with blue balls cause you can’t keep your damn mouth shut” I smirked as Hunter chewed Blake out while Austin looked like he was going to throw up.
“That was way too much information. I thought that you were too old to even get it up” Austin thought that he was being funny.
“Think what you want, but that limp that your mom says is from working out isn’t from yoga” I blush and hide my face as Hunter smirks.
Austin’s eyes widen in understanding while his nose scrunches up in distaste, “Gross! You better not be doing that while I’m sleeping”
“Why the fuck not? It’s our house. You’re lucky we soundproofed the room because if we hadn’t you’d definitely be able to hear why your mom is limping” Hunter raised a brow.
“Okay can we move on from this. I really don’t want to hear about my parent’s sex life” Austin waved his hands around in protest.

“Come on brat, we’re going to be late” Even though I’m not the same teenager that I was when we first met Hunter still refers to me as his brat.
“I’m just trying to make a good impression. I want to keep my status as the cool mom” I explain as I stare at my outfit in the mirror.
“Brat, I believe that just by saying that you don’t qualify for being the cool mom. Also you look more like a teenager than a mom” Hunter walked back into the room and gave me a once over. I was wearing a denim mini skirt with an orange camisole, and some cute sneakers. I thought that I looked great, and by the hands groping my ass, I think Hunter agreed.
I squirmed as he thumbed my thong under my skirt and kissed along my neck, “Hunter, stop. You said that we have to go, and I don’t think Austin would be very happy if we showed up late to his game because we were too busy having sex. He would definitely notice now that you blew my cover”
He pulled away reluctantly after giving my butt a hard slap, “I honestly don’t know how he believed that stupid lie that you kept telling him”
I ignored him, and grabbed my bag before heading off to the car. Luckily we managed to find a parking spot despite the huge crowd. I saw my brother Callum waving us over to where the rest of the family was already seated. Callum has a 10 year old daughter who looks just like him. Brady and I have been able to mend our bond and it makes me so happy. Him and Bridget have a boy and a girl.
My parents are both here as well with a giant sign with Austin’s face on it which I’m sure that he’ll love. It doesn’t surprise me that Hunter already has Jonah snuggled up in his arms by the time that we greet everyone and settle down.
“Hi grandma. You look really pretty” Blake’s oldest daughter Stella told me. It’s still weird to me that I’m already a grandma at my age, but given the circumstance I guess it’s not that weird.
“Not as pretty as you, Stella” I gave her a big hug and she giggled.
The game was really exciting, as football is really popular and important here so everyone comes to the games. I may or may not have had to console a fuming Hunter when someone from the opposing team threw Austin down by the mask. They got called for the illegal play, but Hunter is still very protective of his family. Austin’s team ended up winning even though it got pretty spotty in the third quarter.
We waited until Austin came back out from the locker room to bombard him with love. I could tell by the redness in his ears that he was a little embarrassed to be loved on in front of all his friends.
“Aw come here, Austin. I’m so proud of you” I forced him into a hug, and was surprised to hear snickering in the background.
“Nice catch Austin. I didn’t know you had a girlfriend. Though she is so gorgeous, I wonder why she settled for you” Some boys that I had never seen before teased my little boy.
“No way! This is my mom, not my girlfriend. How could you even think that” Austin yelled out and they looked shocked.
“That’s your mom!? Sorry bro. She looks so…” They decided that it was best to just stop talking.
“Also I’m actually a guy so...but Austin does refer to me as his mom” I think that really made their eyes bug out of their heads.
“Hey brat, the kids are getting hungry. We should probably get going soon” Hunter walked over to us and pulled me into his side. He looked over to Austin with a smile, “Nice game son, but next time I better not see you let someone grab you like that”
Austin looked sheepish, “Thanks dad. Can we get going, you guys are embarrassing me”
“How are we embarrassing you? You should be glad that we actually showed up on time when your mom looks like that” Hunter grunted still lamenting the fact that I denied him earlier. I rolled my eyes and continued walking to the car.
“Dad! I don’t want to talk about that” Austin whined.
“Yeah Hunt, you should have heard it. You were right when you said that I looked younger. Those boys thought that I was Austin’s girlfriend. Can you believe that?” I laughed and Hunter chuckled.
“Obviously they’re blind. There’s no way that you would ever land someone like your mom. You don’t have enough of these…” I giggled as Hunter flexed and posed as if he was at one of his old competitions. Austin face palmed and climbed into the car.
“What did I do to be punished like this?” Austin grumbled and stared at his phone trying to ignore us.
Austin is so much older now that it’s kind of scary to think about. I feel like it was just yesterday when Hunter brought him home. I loved him instantly, and he was definitely a mommy’s boy. He still is as much as he denies it.
I remember his first day of preschool he was absolutely terrified, and kept clinging to my legs every time I would try to leave. Eventually Hunter got him to settle down with the promise of ice cream if he was a brave boy. We are not above bribery. There were lots of challenges that came up with parenting especially in terms of our relationship. It really helps determine your willingness and ability to work together.
When Hunter raised Blake he was on his own for the most part, and didn’t know what it was like to have to work with someone else in raising a child. Sometimes I would get really upset with Hunter being overly blunt while he condemned me for coddling Austin too much. I think we manage to balance each other out really well. Despite all of the rough times we still love each other just as much and maybe even more.
One time Hunter had to go out of town for a week due to some publicity event to promote both his brand and the gym. Austin threw a temper tantrum right before his Daddy had to leave, and refused to say goodbye. Hunter tried to play it off but I knew that it really hurt his feelings on the inside. When we got home Austin acted like everything was fine, but when the time that Hunter usually came home from the gym rolled by he kept glancing at the door. After a while of this he eventually realized that something was wrong and came crying to me asking when Hunter was going to be home. I told him that he wouldn’t be home until the end of the week and Austin burst into tears. He demanded that I call his Daddy and they spent the rest of the night on the phone talking and eventually just snoring away to each other. Austin likes to deny that this ever happened.
Blake and Austin are also extremely close now. Blake grew out of his “I hate Austin” phase fairly quickly when he realised that Austin practically worshipped the ground he walked on. Austin actually helped Blake prepare for children of his own which I still can’t believe.
One of the biggest things that has happened is that about five years ago, we were all sitting in the living room just enjoying each other's company when the news caught my attention. The reporter flashed a picture of Ron and reported that the famous bodybuilder was being charged with sexual battery against multiple women. The news shocked all of us, and I didn’t know how to feel in the moment. I’m relieved that he is off the street and can’t hurt anyone, I feel guilty for not speaking up about it, and I feel sad that those women had to go through such a terrible thing. It was happy news for Hunter, and he celebrated the incarceration of the scumbag. I guess what goes around comes back around eventually.
“Mom are you going to get out of the car?” Austin’s voice broke me out of memory lane. I smiled at the young man in front of me. I’ll be so sad when he’s finally all grown up.
“Yeah, don’t rush me” I scoot off of the seat and hump out of the car. Somehow I get squashed in the middle of the booth, but on the bright side I’m squished in between my husband and my little baby (even if one of them stinks).
