Asteria, Vita, Florian, and Rilynn  were all sitting at a table inside the cafe eating their lunch when Luca came over and placed a cake in front of Asteria which read “Happy One Month” on it. Asteria didn’t catch on at first but when she did she gave Luca a huge hug.

“This is so sweet Luca! You didn’t have to do this,” said Asteria as she let him go but grabbed his hand to sit him down in the empty chair beside her.

“I wanted to give you a little something after finishing off a month here in Limestone,” said Luca as he sat.

Asteria had been at Limestone for a month and she was comfortable with the friends she made and the classes she had. Her crush on Florian grew larger as he was continuously coming early as she asked him to so she could cook breakfast for him which he enjoyed every time. It also gave her the chance to get Florian close to her mother which was working because her mother loved him. Asteria and Vita were acting as if they were best friends since birth and Luca was always there to add a little happiness in her days. While Asteria and Rilynn were still enemies. Asteria refused to fix it and Rilynn could careless as she continued to annoy her. They would still compete in gym and Chem class as well by making sure one of them had the best answer to a question. 

Asteria took her finger and took off some frosting. She tasted it and let out a moan of satisfaction, “You have to try this Vita...” Asteria began but Vita was already licking off the remaining frosting from her finger.

“This is so good! Did you make this homemade?” asked Vita as Asteria started to cut pieces.

“I did actually. It would make me happy if you had some same for Florian and Rilynn as well,”

Florian happily obliged as Asteria handed him a piece while Rilynn looked away from them all. Asteria ignored her and cut a piece for Luca. Luca thanked her and Asteria gave him another hug. Rilynn then suddenly got up from the table. Vita asked where she was going and she told her she was going to get a brownie.

“She is so rude. Why get a brownie when Luca gave us this cake?” claimed Asteria as she glared at Rilynn as she walked off.

“I don’t mind it. She doesn’t have to eat it,” said Luca as he took a bite of his cake.

“You honestly deserve this cake Asteria. You are the star of the school now,” said Vita as she licked frosting off her hands.

“I didn’t except that to happen so fast and actually I didn’t know it was going to happen at all. Every where I go people are staring at me or trying to talk to me every chance they get,” said Asteria.

“That’s probably because you are such a cutie,” said Luca making Asteria blush.

“Why are you calling me that now?”  asked Asteria as she grew red while Luca stared at her.

“That’s the name I will call you for now on,” replied Luca.

“And I will call you Ash,” said Vita as she continued to enjoy her cake.

Asteria smiled at her accepting the name as Luca turned his attention to her necklace. He asked her where she got it and Vita and Florian quickly mouthed to him telling him to stop asking questions about the necklace. Asteria looked bothered until arms wrapped around her.

Rilynn who was the one behind her and she gave a sudden blow in Asteria’s ear causing Asteria to grab her ear as she grew flustered, “No brownies! Please feed me Asteria.” Said Rilynn as she whined.

Asteria then pulled her arms off of her and turned to punch her in the gut. Rilynn was holding her stomach as Asteria scolded her. Luca watched them until Rilynn threw a cold stare at him. He then looked away as Florian and Vita tried to ignore Rilynn and Asteria.

“I should go,” said Luca as he got up.

“What? Why?” asked Asteria as she was pulling on Rilynn’s ear.

“I have something to do. Enjoy the cake,” replied Luca as he walked off.

Asteria said bye to Luca same as Vita and Florian did as she let go of Rilynn’s ear and Rilynn escaped to her chair. Asteria went ahead and started to eat cake more. As she ate each bite she looked in love. Florian mentioned that Luca was a “great guy” and that he loved him. Vita agreed and Florian and then Asteria said the same. Rilynn looked over to the other side of the cafe and noticed Luca talking with Seraphina and her friends. 

School was over and Florian and Asteria were making sure Vita got on the bus safely. When she did, Asteria grabbed Florian’s hand and they went off home. Luca who was inside the school watched Florian and Asteria walking hand in hand laughing about something through the window. 

“Stupid girl,” said Luca out loud to himself.

Luca moved from the window and walked down the hall. Elsewhere inside the school was a class that was supposed to be empty but two students were inside. Rilynn was kissing Seraphina as she sat on the desk in front of her with her legs wrapped around her waist and her arms around her neck. Rilynn grabbed hold of Seraphina’s butt and squeezed causing Seraphina to moan. Their tongues were soon connected as Seraphina pulled Rilynn closer to her body. Suddenly the door opened making Rilynn pull away from Seraphina. Luca stood at the door way with a smirk on his face.

“Wow! Maybe if I came later I would’ve seen something much nicer,” said Luca as he walked inside and closed the door.

“What do you want?” asked Rilynn as she fixed her clothes along with Seraphina.

“Seraphina,” replied Luca.

Rilynn looked at him and then to Seraphina suspiciously but she didn’t ask why. Seraphina tried to kiss her on the cheek but Rilynn dodged her and left out the class bumping into Luca as she left out and closed the door. Luca sat down on the desk and started to clap.

“What would the skank of the school want from me today?” asked Luca.

“Watch what you say to me! My father is the principal remember,”

“So what? My parents won’t allow him to do anything,”

“It won’t get you into the school you want my help to get you in,”

“Maybe not,”

“Then I want you do something for me and I promise I will get you into the college you want,”

“And that is?”

“I see how you are making friends with that bitch, Asteria, so keep going. Make her trust you and soon I will make my move,”

“What move is that?”

“Don’t ask questions. Just do as I say and you will get what you want,”

Before Seraphina could leave Luca called out to her, “Why do you care about her so much?” He asked her.

“She isn’t one of us and she needs to learn that Rilynn is mine,”

“I’m pretty sure she isn’t yours but go ahead and think what you want to please that sick mind of yours,” said Luca as they walked out the room together.

Rilynn was walking out the school when she got a message from her mother telling her to hurry home. She sighed as she sucked her teeth. She looked up and noticed Luca and Serphina through the window walking and talking. She then walked away.

It was evening time and Asteria was enjoying her dinner alone while her mother was stuck at work. She was clicking through the TV as she had herself wrapped in a blanket sitting on the couch biting into a burrito. She stopped when she saw Rilynn’s father. The channel was called Limestone Daily and the reporter was announcing that Blight, CEO of Shine Tech, had agreed to partner with Rilynn’s father, owner of Star Oil, to make Limestone a better place. The reporter then switched off to add on how they met up and decided on such a decision. It was at one  of the biggest events of the year. The event that Rilynn and her parents went to as the reporter showed a picture of her and her parents.

“She looks pretty in that dress but why is she such an ass,” said Asteria before she clicked to another channel.

At Rilynn’s mansion, she was eating dinner with her parents with Blight as their guest. Rilynn was dressed in a buttoned up shirt with her hair down and dress pants. Blight on the other hand was dressed in a suit along with Rilynn’s dad while her mother was wearing a casual dress to be comfortable in. They were talking about their future plans for both of their companies while Rilynn ignored them trying to eat her food. Soon their dinner was over and Rilynn’s parents were setting up a game of pool with Blight who snuck away to catch Rilynn before she disappeared. He asked if she would join him outside and Rilynn had to say “yes” because her parents were watching.

They walked outside into the garden in the back of the house and sat down on the bench there. Rilynn looked over at Blight and he looked at her. Rilynn glared at him.

“What do you want?” asked Rilynn.

“Where’s your brother?”

“I don’t know. Last time we talked he was in India trying to make a deal with some CEO there but he’s probably some where else by now,”

“He should be here,” said Blight as he looked on at Rilynn.

“Why did you agree to work with my father if you still want my brother to be the owner Star Oil and by the look on your face you look concerned,”

“I was tired of your father’s pestering calls and messages so I finally gave in. I still want to work with your brother,”

“Why is that? You never told me,”

“Well I’m not concerned just curious because your father has lost his touch. His mind is on power rather than helping Limestone and eventually the world to improve so I want to know his next move,”

“Sounds like him,” said Rilynn as she put her head down.

Blight shrugged his shoulders, “Well who cares about him, I wanted to ask you something as well,”

“No,” said Rilynn coldly.

“I didn’t ask the question,” said Blight as he started to laugh.

“My parents want you to marry me don’t they so your companies will always be together,”

“What? This isn’t the 1930s kid. I have no interest to marrying you. I wanted to ask you if you would see my sister more often,” said Blight as he was shocked with Rilynn’s words.

“I will see her when I see her. She should be well aware that is how this works between her and I,”

“I see,” said Blight as he smiled, “I guess I should head back inside before your parents hunt me down but I forgot to mention. I heard there is a new family in town. Have you met the daughter,”

“Yes. She happens to be an old friend,”

“Wow! What are the odds that she of all people would be the new girl. The universe works in mysterious ways. Don’t you think?”  said Blight with his eyebrow raised.

Rilynn looked at Blight as she tried to understand why he would say that but he was walking away from her. Blight dialed a number on his phone as he was far from Rilynn. He said “hello” as the other person picked up.

Asteria’s mother was in the office as Blight asked her if she was heading home, “I am now. I have to get back before my daughter kills me. I am also putting the finished papers on your desk,” She said as she got her things together to leave.

“Excellent work, I will see you tomorrow and have a good night,” said Blight as he hung up the phone and entered the house.

Asteria’s mother said “goodnight” as well before he hung up and headed out the office for the night. Rilynn was still sitting on the bench as she looked at her phone. Her finger was lingering on Asteria’s number but she didn’t dare click on it.
