Whoa, wait a minute, hold the phone! Did Tripp just call me his girlfriend?! Not only that but in front of everyone?! His announcement left me speechless, I mean what could I say to that? I could act just as surprised and question him but wouldn't that have been weird? You don't just simply embarrass a man like Tripp.
"Now back to the business at hand, if you don't mind we have prepared a little presentation on projected sales and quantities of phones versus the cost to produce them. Clark, if you could please?" He continued on unphased like he hadn't just dropped a bombshell. I mean come on, we didn't even discuss this! Isn't this supposed to be something you decide together?! Wait a minute, was Tripp jealous? I'm pretty sure Jay was hitting on me. Holy shit! The great Tripp, who has no weaknesses got jealous. This is too good!
The meeting was still going on, Tripp and Clark were presenting the rest of the slides pretty flawlessly and caught the attention of the investors who nodded along, confident in their trust with our company. Every once in awhile I'd steal a glance from Tripp but quickly look away, I could feel the heat in my face when I did so. I had so many questions bottled away in the back of my mind, but I had to hold them in until I could find time alone with him, which wouldn't be hard since he's been insisting on driving me everywhere. I hate driving though so it's been nice, I get super anxious driving somewhere new due to getting into a huge accident when I was younger.
I found myself zoning in and out on the meeting, occasionally I saw Jay staring at me and Kaylee glaring daggers but other than that it was pretty uneventful until Tripp called my name and asked me to join him. I thought I wouldn't have to give a speech! I have nothing prepared! Despite my hesitations I scooted back the rolling executive chair, painfully aware everyone's eyes were on me as I walked over to join Tripp. I smiled at everyone, unsure what to say. Please don't nervous laugh, I thought to myself because that's totally an issue I have.
"Sera, is there anything you'd like to add as an engineer who had tested the phones personally?"
Ugh think of something Sera. Don't choke! "Yes, I've personally had the pleasure of testing and going through the phone looking for bugs. The security measures are top notch with all of the latest Android updates, with future updates for years to come. Meaning the support for these phones will go on for years. It's a phone built to last and is very innovative." I glanced at Tripp, trying to silently plead for him to let me sit down. I swear he saw it but decided to ignore it. Ouch my feet hurt in these shoes.
"Thank you, does anyone have any questions one of us could answer?" He asked the intrigued crowd.
Immediately they began talking over each other asking questions, not necessarily to do with the phone at all.
"One at a time please!" Clark panicked, motioning for quiet.
Finally Jay raised his hand, "Yes I have a question."
"Please go ahead." Clark sighed, glad they finally found order.
"Okay but I'm curious about this relationship, you're not exactly known as a commitment type of man." He asked, calling him a playboy in around about way. He got a lot of general yeah I'm curious too out of the other investors.
I panicked and looked toward Tripp who kept cool as a cucumber.
" The answer is easy, we recently got reunited after a long time, but have a previous history together." He didn't seemed phased about the question at all, is it normal for investors or stock holders to get all up in your personal business like this when you're CEO?
The thing is, I haven't decided if I want to be apart of their rich life. Dating a CEO isn't like dating a normal person, he lives in a completely different world than me and is basically already married to the job. The question is would I be okay with that?
"If anything this will only benefit the company seeing someone with such technical knowledge and ability." He continued, making me believe they're just afraid for the company's future.
The investors nodded, happy with the answer.
"Ahem." Clark coughed to steer attention back to him. "Anyway continuing on, does anybody have questions about the projections, costs or the phone itself?"
One of the ladies stood up and grabbed her purse. "I for one am happy with this and you will continue to receive mine and my husband's support. The presentation was great and answered all of my questions." She turned to one of the other men. "Come on honey Andrea slapped the nanny again. She quit and left her alone."
"Thank you for meeting with us." Her husband extended a hand to Tripp before being rushed out the door by his wife to get home to their spoiled daughter who apparently made the nanny up and quit.
This caused a chain reaction of departure as well. I welcomed this as I still wanted time to check out all the booths and honestly it's been a few hours, my tiny woman bladder was about to explode.
I did a sigh of relief as it was just members of our company left in the conference room, everyone else seemed to have felt the same way. "Good work everyone, that wraps up another successful year! We should head out to the booth to see how we're doing out there." Clark announced.
We began to shuffle out of the conference room, I could have pulled Tripp aside and been all like what the hell man, but I had to pee so bad my only goal at the moment was finding a bathroom.
I slipped away from the crowd and after a bit of searching finally found one. It was nice to be alone from everyone else, but to my surprise when I left Kaylee was waiting for me and she didn't seem happy.
