***this planet is entirely fictional, especially the weather and temperature, because, correct me if I'm wrong, after doing some research I figured out that Ocean Worlds have little to no land to block wind so it would pick up speed and be suuuuuper windy, so no thx. Wind?~gone~***
***Traetans can breath underwater because they have gills on both sides of their neck***
Traetys(tra-ay-tis)(other world, mostly water)
-There are two suns Traetys orbits called Kish and Hosh(Kish is bigger and Hosh is about a third of Kish’s size)
-Night is referred to as set and Day is referred to as stir
-Water is warm during stir and cold during set because of the two suns that the planet orbits
-The temperature during stir can be anywhere from 125-170 F, but during set it can drop to the 40-60s F(while farthest from Kish and Hosh in the orbital, the temperature will get colder)
-One orbit(year) takes 195 stirs, and each stir is 38 hours long
-On the first 8 stirs of every orbit there are lights in the sky(similar to the Northern Lights), and it is considered great luck to be born during those stirs, and good luck to be born during that month(each month is roughly 24 stirs)
-There are 8 months in an orbit.
-Most Traetans fear set because of the predators that come with the cold/darkness
-There are many predators that rich Traetans don’t have to worry about, but the poor have to stay on guard or risk being killed(especially at set)
Houses
-Rich Traetans have good resources and protection from the weather, poor Traetans will have trouble surviving the predators but the weather will only make them uncomfortable(weather protection is a luxury)
-Poor/working class Traetans will live either in their shops on the third island, small-medium sized boats, or in underwater caves(dangerous)
-Rich/well off Traetans will usually live in big/luxurious boats or underwater houses(instead of caves, but they are more expensive to build)
-Lots of jewelry is rare because planet is all water except the core, ocean floor, and the main three islands, so it costs a lot(corral jewelry and jewelry made from animals like shells and such is inexpensive but it’s more metals and gems that are rare)
-Some metals and gems can be found on Traetys, but most are imported from other planets
-It is a custom for people who can afford to, to give people jewelry on their 17th Birthstir(equivalent of Birthday)
-17th Birthstir is when Traetans are considered adults, and when they graduate from third school, can start working and living on their own
-Neighborhoods are like the towns or cities of Traetys, except they are usually smaller
-Most neighborhoods are temporary, as Traetans love to move around, but those that are permanent are usually larger, with a school at the center
The Main Three(three big islands, around the size of Hawaii's main island each)
*First Island is for farming
-gets most of the fruits/vegetables and materials for making clothes from there
-there are fields of flowers as well(although much smaller than the crops)
*Second Island is for factories
-process the food, make clothes, and make/build other vital stuff
*Third Island is a huuuuuuge market
-you can buy pretty much anything you need, travelers from other planets will oftentimes bring their goods here to sell because it is always busy
-people can set up a shop there and sell things/live there, and foreigners without boats that want to visit are only able to visit Third Island, which has hotels as well
Schools
-big boats anchored to the ocean floor/huge boulders in the middle of neighborhoods(most Traetans are homeschooled though)
-first, second, and third schools are free and anyone can go to them
-first and second schools teach basic skills(reading, writing, math, other languages, history, sciences, and hunting)
-third school teaches more classes useful to getting a job(most people work at factories, farms, or sell things at shops on Third Island), so not everyone takes third school or finishes it(lots of Traetans hunt for their food and live underwater)
-to get education regarding a certain job, you have to take at least two orbits of special classes that you pay for(or be sponsored by someone with that job) and start working with them as an apprentice
-four years of first school(starts at 7 years old), four years of second school(starts at 11 years old), and three years of third school(starts at 15 years old)
-buses are medium sized motor boats that can fit 20-ish kids(they look like bright red pontoon boats)
Wildlife
*Hippalar(pronounced hip-lar):
-Lives in herds and in the shallow parts of waters
-Has a smooth deer-like face with feather like scales extending out of the back of it’s head like a mane(similar to a lion)
-Four fan like fins that appear like seal arms but more paper like and a skinny tail where the fins at the end fan out, similar to the flippers
-Different shades of blue to blend in with white undertones(females have darker/larger fins on their backs than males)
-Has one smooth horn in the middle of its forehead
-Small agile bodies that can grow up to be the size of a miniature donkey
*Gandet(sounds like it looks)
-Most common night predator
-A huge crocodile-like creature with four small horns on the crown of their head
-Roughly the size of a bus when fully grown(they are based on terror crocs)
-Their skin can be made into cheap accessories and clothes, and their teeth made into jewelry
-Their meat is undesirable to many rich Traetans, but the common folk are more than happy to eat it, because it’s so cheap and easy to cook
-They are very docile during stirs, to the point you can swim up to them and even pet them, because that is when they’re gathering energy from the suns and staying warm
-They spend most of the stirs asleep, but will wake up if people get too close(they won't attack though). During this time it is best to attack because they will rarely fight back
-At sets they become aggressive, only because of the cold. If kept relatively warm they would not cause any trouble
