2012

 Dagny and Emir were walking down an alley on their way to the school. It was awfully quiet and they were aware of it.

 Normally, this alley would be full of little kids playing soccer around this time of the day.

I wonder what happened to them.

 There was an unsettling atmosphere. They could smell a metallic smell.

 There it was. Just around the corner, a woman lying lifeless in a puddle of blood. Emir was frozen in place.

"Wh-what do we do?" he asked.

"Settle down," Dagny said and crouched down. He cautiously approached the woman. He could see the blood pouring out of her neck. "We need to call the cops!"

"No, you don't!" said a deep voice and an elderly man in ragged clothes tackled Emir. He pulled a gun out of his pockets and pointed it at Dagny.

"N-o..." Emir said as he struggled against the man.

"You, lad are gonna come with me. Let's hope your pal over here doesn't call the cops on us or you are going to wish you were dead!" he said as he tried to intimidate Dagny but before he could notice he was hit by a rock right in the eye.

 Emir elbowed the man in the guts and got free.

"WHy you little sh-" the man pointed his gun at where Dagny was but to his surprise Dagny wasn't there. At a moment's notice, Dagny pulled the gun out of the man's hand and put him in a chokehold. And shot the man in the head as he couldn't keep him in the chokehold any longer.

 He turned to Emir as the man fell down.

"We never speak of this again. They were like this when we came here, got it?"

 Emir looked frightened.

"N-no... how c-could you kill him?" Emir asked.

"He attacked me first! You can't expect me to keep fighting with an armed man twice my size!"

"But..." Emir said as he turned around putting his hands on his head. "We need to tell the police about this, truthfully."

"WE CAN'T!"

"WE ARE GOING TO!" Dagny turned around and kicked the man's, now dead, body.

"You know what? Fuck it!" Dagny put the gun on his chin and pulled the trigger.

Damn it! I need to go through another eleven years of the same thing! I need to be careful next time. I shouldn't have been so quick to kill that guy.

2012-Another Run

Dagny recognized the alley as they were getting closer.

"Let's take a detour. We have a lot of time before classes start," he said as he pulled Emir away from the alley.
