Elliot finally made it back to his room. His body was excessively tired as he stretched out his arms and glanced at one of the maids that entered the room after him. She prepared his nightgown, keeping her head down as if trying to avoid eye contact.
For precautions, there was going to be a new maid to take care of his needs. The young maid had curly brown hair neatly tied up in a bun. Her big brown eyes stared at the white grown as she timidly placed it onto the bed.
Elliot watched the new maid fiddle with his clothes as she helped him dress. He tried to recall what was her name, though his stare seemed to be too intense for the young maid as her fingers shook from buttoning up the nightgown.
“I-Is there anything else I can get for you, your highness?” the young maid’s voice shook. Word traveled fast, especially in this slow estate. Everyone knew what had happened to Ginny, and it quickly put everyone on edge.
Elliot felt lazy as he sat onto the comfy bed and nonchalantly waved his hand, “that’s all for today, you can leave.”
The young maid didn’t hesitate to the room.
The door quickly closed leaving Elliot alone. He felt that he could finally stop with the act as he fully fell onto the bed with a long sigh. Today felt longer than usual, the information that was dumped onto him was grand. Now that Mathew was on his way back, Elliot figured he should investigate his reason to visit.
Mathew didn’t visit the estate often, despite it being his own home. Elliot figured it had to do with how chaotic the kingdom was.
Elliot stretched his body once more before drilling into the fluffy blankets. He figured that once Flynn came back, he could push the work of investigating Mathew onto him.
The man was able to find a doctor that could identify the poison that was in him. Elliot felt confident that the ex-general would be able to investigate a single prince.
With that thought, he felt his heavy body sink deeper into the bed, but just about as he was going to fall into a deep sleep, he heard some shuffling on the balcony.
With the small sounds, Elliot’s eyes shot open. He didn’t forget that he had a target on his life! He jolted from the bed to see the sear curtains flutter in front of him. His blue eyes darkened alert and ready to call someone over when he saw a familiar figure appear before him.
Elliot was beside himself and cursed aloud without thinking, “dammit Flynn, you scared the shit out of me!”
The corners of Flynn’s mouth quirked up as he strolled into the bedroom, “well, if you’re that scared, then you should learn to lock your doors.” Flynn played with an apple in his hand as he tossed it up a few times, “just think of this as me teaching you a lesson. You knew someone wants to take your life, yet here we are. If I’d been anyone else, you’d be dead already.”
Elliot’s face paled as he pressed his hand to his forehead, “enough, I don’t need this right now. Mind telling me why you’re even here? I doubt it’s something like ‘teaching me a lesson’”
Flynn stayed silent for the moment before saying, “I found her sister.”
Elliot eyed him, “that fast? Where- “ though he didn’t need to finish his sentence, noticing Flynn’s dark expression he figured something wasn’t right. He knit his brows, “what’s wrong?”
Flynn sighed, “your intuition is quite astonishing, really... I was only able to find what I believe is her body. According to some soldiers, she was killed a few years ago.”
Elliot frowned; Uriel really didn’t keep his promise, which meant Ginny jeopardize herself for nothing... He couldn’t help but wonder how she would take all this. perhaps she would grow to hate the entire royal family. If that was the case… then it wouldn’t be wise to keep her close.
He let out a deep sigh, “where did you put her?”
“I’ve hidden her in a good place..." Flynn paused and looked over at Elliot as if studying him, "what do you want me to do?”
Elliot went through his thoughts before getting up and grabbing an outer coat. Flynn watched him before lifting a brow, “you’re going to see her?”
“Someone has to tell Ginny, and I’m sure she would want to see the body…or at least bury it.”

The night was long as the waning crescent moon hung high in the night sky that was peppered with white stars. Ginny pressed herself onto the ground beside her sister as she wept somberly. Her tears covered her face as they streamed down her red cheeks. Her voice sprayed sporadic and mashed up sentences, unable to decipher a single word.
Elliot stood in the distance, watching the weeping woman sit beside the small body draped with a white cloth. The emotions he felt didn’t seem to match the scene before him. He wondered; did anyone weep for him?
Was he dead? And the afterlife he was given, was it just to follow this damned system’s rules and tasks? What was his original world? Did anyone miss him too?
The feelings jumbled together, making his brows furrow. It wasn’t until a small voice trailed behind him, catching him off guard.
“I’m sure.”
Elliot blinked and looked back at Flynn, who was standing not too far behind him.
“…what?”
Flynn gazed at the child whose once bright blue eyes were now nearly black like ink as he slowly repeated, “I’m sure someone will weep for you and that they’ll miss you.”
Elliot was taken aback; did he say all that aloud?! What about the system part?! Sir! Explain! Please!
Elliot kept silent for a moment, “I’d be happy if at least one person wept for me…” the words slowly crept from his heart. If he really was dead…he wanted at least one person to miss him…
The night wind chilled the atmosphere as silence overcast them, only broken by Ginny's slowing sobs. Elliot stepped forward and waited for Ginny’s sobs to quiet down. “I can arrange for her burial…”
Ginny quickly wiped away some tears as she bleakly stared at the white sheet. “Thank you…prince Gabriel…”
Elliot tried to observe Ginny’s expression, though her words didn’t feel vengeful, he could still see some hatred in her icy eyes.
Elliot was quick to speak, “revenge for your sister…I can arrange it for you.”
The words immediately caught Ginny’s interest as she turned her head towards Elliot. He narrowed his eyes at the fire that burned in Ginny’s.
Elliot’s eyes darkened, “Though, for this to work…I will need your utmost loyalty. Any signs of betrayal I will make sure you suffer.” Elliot didn't think this type of threat would work on Ginny. After all, what more suffering can one go through after losing a loved one? But he had to gamble.
Ginny pursed her lips and fixed her posture as she kneeled on the ground. Her forehead touched the cold dirt as she carefully spoke. “This servant knows her wrongdoings and swears upon her life to never do so again. I will follow prince Gabriel to my death…”
Elliot watched his wet nurse before him when he heard the consecutive beeps.
System: Side task completion: Ginny, 75% method, Revenge Plot. Pending completion, Ginny 25%, Mathew 100%.
25% left…Elliot wondered if that last bit would be until she completes her revenge.
He pushed the thought into the back of his mind as he prepared to have Ginny’s younger sister ready for burial.

Elliot slept in the next day; no one but Flynn dared to wake him. Once he heard the loud knocking on the door, Elliot lazily got up, “enter.” He yawned with furrowed brows.
“How long are you planning to sleep for?” Flynn waltzed in as he pulled out a few clothes for the young prince. He paused as he set the pieces of clothing onto the bed. Why was he acting as his maid?!
He eyed the young prince who slowly started to pull on the garments… backward.
Flynn sighed and quickly helped him into his clothes, “how incapable are you?”
Elliot furrowed his brows as he glared at Flynn, “I am very capable…I just-“ he stopped himself before he said anymore. He hadn’t fully woken up and gotten into character.
Quickly, Elliot brushed away Flynn’s hand and called in some of the maids, “why are you here anyway? Shouldn’t you be in the garden?”
Flynn mirthfully watched the young prince struggle with his clothing until the maids walked in.
“I just thought you’d like to know that everything is set up, and I’ve told Ginny where the burial will be.” Flynn stepped back as he let the maids help Elliot in fresh clothes. “Also, there was a notice that stated prince Mathew will arrive in a few days.” Flynn’s words dulled as he said this. Elliot figured he didn’t want to see the big prince again.
Elliot let his eyes shine, “really? He’s coming by so soon?” Flynn watched this prince showing an innocent-child-like face. Didn’t this child poison his own wet maid not too long ago? Flynn couldn’t help but feel something was off, or rather, Elliot was not showing his true nature.
Flynn simply nodded, “he seems to have a guest joining him since he told the servants to prepare a grand meal.”
“Then we better get everything set up.” Elliot then waved for the maids to leave the room, “make sure the estate is in top form before brother comes home.”
Flynn was about to walk out but was stopped by Elliot. “Not you.”
Flynn lifted a brow at the small prince that no longer showed a gleeful smile, he couldn't help but feel that Elliot was too quick to change emotions. "What?"
Elliot only sighed and put on a pitiful face, “my brother wouldn’t come back so soon without a reason...”
Flynn quickly caught on as he lifted a brow and made a slight smirk, “you want me to investigate?”
Elliot narrowed his eyes before avoiding eye contact, “is it wrong of me?”
Flynn didn’t say anymore. He felt this prince was playing too much. He made a simple bow, "then, I'll do what you need." and quickly left.

Elliot’s days were boring. He had classes in the morning, which he was determined to focus on, and he would eat and nap during his off times.
It had been peaceful for the servants. They were starting to think that their prince was being possessed by a demon or rather an angle with the lack of pranks and mischief. Elliot also didn’t think the system would let him go on like this for long either.
Ever since he discovered Ginny’s betrayal the system seemed rather lenient on going out of character. Either way, Elliot wasn’t complaining. If that meant that he didn’t have to put in the effort in making childish pranks, then he was fine with it.
Elliot rested in the garden; the shade covered his pale body keeping him away from the blinding sun. The wind gently pushed through the leaves, creating light rustles. He watched as the petals danced around in the sky until he heard footsteps travel towards him.
Elliot thought this was simply one of the servants, but as soon as he saw a sword glare, he instinctively rolled over. The blade of a longsword was lodged in the grassy mud, cutting straight through the blanket Elliot was resting on.
Elliot’s face paled at a man in silver armor as he shimmied the sword out of the ground. If he hadn’t dodged, that blade would have gone straight through his head! He didn’t give the man any time to free the blade as he rapidly turned and raced towards the estate. What was this?! Where were the guards?! The maids?!
There didn’t seem to be a single servant around in the estate. Elliot felt a pain in his chest as he heaved for air. Damn this body! What made him think he would get far like this?!
Elliot could hear the man’s footsteps creep closer, making his heart painfully drum in his chest. He wanted to call for help, but the pain was too strong. He could only clench onto his shirt as he tried to calm his breathing.
He had to think fast, or would be made into minced meat!
