Sam fetches me some clothes before we go to bed. He wanted to wash and dry my clothes he thought I had on, since he can't see. I had to come clean about not having anything on. I told him that some robbers stole all my belongings and they were the ones responsible for me being in the river.
But in reality, I have never worn a single piece of clothing in my life. Being naked is normal for werewolves. I do know that in the human culture they wear clothes, so I am going to have to get use to wearing clothes. I'm surprised that Sam actually wears clothes. He's a werewolf, so why does he wear them?
When I put on his clothes, they make a horrible ripping noise.
"Boy, do they not fit ya?" Sam says in shock. He really can't get in his head that I'm not a little boy.
"They ripped when I put them on." Finally, he should realize my size.
Now that I look closer at Sam, all hunched over like he can't stand up straight, he almost comes to my shoulders. But, if he could stand up straight, his height would pass my shoulders a little bit. It looks like the years has done a number on him. His hair is dark brown, but has splashes of gray in it. His skin is wrinkled followed by bony, brittle arms. I could snap him like a twig.
I'm actually really surprised that he was able to carry me. I know he's a werewolf, but in our human form we are mostly like an ordinary human. We don't have any special strengths, only body differences. What makes us different from humans is that we have higher body temperatures, more endurance, and we can smell better than humans. But, we do have the same strength as humans do.
"Tomorrow I will go to town and get ya some clothes to fit ya. For now, ya can wrap up in this blanket." He tells me handing me a long piece of fabric that feels so soft. If I could touch a cloud, this is how it would feel.
I was going to tell him he doesn't need to go to all the trouble of going to get clothes for me.
But, I rethink it. I couldn't go around naked while trying to fit in with humans. I would eventually have to get some. Since he is offering, why not accept it? That would be the easiest method to get some clothes. All I could say was thank you to him.
We say good night to each other and go to bed. Sam's room is across from mine, so he left me to be by myself, which I needed. The bed is the same one I was in earlier, it's nice and squishy. I snuggle in, wrapping myself with the fluffy soft cloud blanket. I'm content. I fall asleep right away without any dreams.
Morning comes so fast, I don't want to budge out of bed. But, I take a sniff in the air and there's this delicious smell that makes my stomach grumble. I just can't ignore that smell. I have to investigate where it's coming from.
I leave the cozy room and see Sam at the source of where the smell is coming from.
"Good morning, boy. Here, I found ya some clothes that should fit, they're my old clothes from when I was in my prime. Put them on before ya eat the breakfast I made for ya." He says pointing to a shirt and pair of pants that's in a chair.
They're twice the size of the ones I tried on last night. The size difference is so big. It makes me curious. What in the world happened to him in the past?
But, then my stomach growls reminding me that it wants whatever this delicious smell is. I hurry throwing on the clothes. They do fit me, but aren't really comfortable. I guess it's going to take some time getting use to wearing clothes.
After I put on the clothes, I hurry to Sam's side and look at what is making the delicious smell. My mouth starts to water looking at some type of meat.
"It's bacon!" Sam happily chirps, handing me a plate full of the delicious smelling meat. I take a bite of it and my mouth sings. It's so delicious. This bacon has changed my world.
I knew humans ate cooked meat and that going to have to eat it to blend in, but I didn't like the thoughts of doing it. I just couldn't understand it. Why in the world would they cook their meat?
I thought when you throw the meat into the heat, it would dry and become tough. But, no, I was wrong. Cooking the meat brings out more of the flavor and makes it have a nice texture to it. I imagine all of my favorite kinds of meat cooked. Would they taste like this bacon if they were cooked? The thought makes my mouth water more.
"Thanks for the food." I mumble between bites.
"No problem, boy. I been thinking, ya said that ya were robbed, so that means ya are broke and won't be able to keep yaself up. So I was thinking maybe ya could help me out for awhile and I'll pay ya. Ya can also stay at my place too." Sam said with a pleading look.
It kinda makes sense to stay at his place. I do need to get money in order to live in the human world. Maybe this is my chance? I do like Sam. He kinda already feels like a family member. But, I'm worried what he'll do if he finds out that I'm also a werewolf. Right now, my wolf is still asleep, so I don't know if he'll be able to tell if I'm a werewolf when my wolf awakes.
I also don't know when she'll be awake either. When she is, I might change into my female wolf again. I wish I knew what causes me to transform into her. If I knew, maybe I could avoid it or at least be ready for it.
She hasn't awoken since my first time transforming into her. But, just feeling her presence stresses me out. I just don't know when she's going to awake again, and I have no idea what will happen once she is awake. Will she easily take over like last time?
But, staying with Sam could be a very good step to slowly start learning how to live as a human.
"Sure, I'll stay, but just until I save enough money to be able to take care of myself. I don't want to intrude." I happily agree as he shoots me a big grin.
