Steven asked this in innocence, but the truth was that Other Steven didn’t technically know, never the less, he did have some information.

“I’m you, from” Other Steven counted on his fingers a bit “7 years into the future, traveling back SEEMS to have created some form of Alternate timeline, so I’m having trouble teleporting back”

“Why’d you head back in the first place?” Steven was clearly very scared, this was understandable, when he met the alternative versions of himself in the sea shrine he vowed not to use time travel unless it was a real emergency.

“It was an accident, I was moving around a time glass that was going to be part of a jump drive design. I apparently didn’t to clear my thoughts well enough, which is annoying because I am normally good at that type of thing”

Steven looked slightly excited, 7 years in the future is a long time, he might have even mastered his powers by then.

“Let’s show you to the Gems!”

Steven grabbed Other Steven’s arm as they raced off, connie chasing after them.
