It was a midsummer day, the wind blows through the crack of leaves from the willow trees surrounding a crowd of black spots. The heavy atmosphere was a huge contrast to the vibrant weather nature innately emits.
Eden looks up towards the sky and through the crack of his fingers he sees a swallow flying high in a circular motion, as if it's waiting for something.
Such a lovely day, but.. Eden shakes his head to get his mind straight, His dark brown hair flying free as he lifts his hand to calm it down. He looks up once more to see no sight of the swallow; dejected; he looks down to at his feet, not daring to look straight or sideways as if he's afraid of facing something.
"Eden, my s-son. Y-your father, l-look at your father dear. It will be the last time we see him in flesh n-now" Linna stutters through her tears and right after her sentence she suddenly collapse. At that moment, Eden wakes up from his stupor to lift his mother up as she was about to fall. Immediately, he turns his head towards the direction he has been avoiding all this time, clearing his consciousness he could hear the murmurs of people;
"Poor boy.. He lost his father after so many months of being apart.."
"Yeah, It was a car accident. Carl was a good man. He died just like that huh?"
"Makes you think the good people always go first"
Hearing the whispers of the people around himself, Eden's hazel eyes lost focus due to the tears threatening to fall down to his chin.
(Dad.... Dad is dead? He told me he's not going to leave again. That's a lie, He's just sleeping)
Eden's thought was jumbled up and all words he could muster to stop the whispers of people were "SHUT UP! HE IS NOT DEAD. H-He's just really sleepy, he'll sleep in the warm bed for a while only. So don't you dare say he is gone" as he shouts at the people at the back whilst holding his unconscious mother, looking extremely vulnerable.
"My, look at his crude and rude words. Little one, Your father... He is sleeping in the coffin. The angels have taken him already. He is in a better place now. Take your mother somewhere so she can rest her mind. Honey, why don't you go help the child out" says a women in a long black dress with an aggrieved look on her face as she points her husband to help Eden carry his Mother to a nearby tree next to rows of headstones.
Looking around and seeing everyone staring at him, Eden decides to silently carry his Mother along with the man to the nearby tree. His mother, still unconscious and clearly very pale and withdrawn droops her head on his small shoulder.
As he sits down, watching the crowd of people who are his parent's colleague, family and friends gather around the sunken earth with a white coffin inside, his thought drifts to the events that took place before all of this.
