Disgruntled Ian went back to the room, turned off the light, and went to bed. Lying on his back, he blinked and continued to stare at the darkness for a whole minute before grabbing his phone from the nightstand and started playing games.
After around 15 minutes, there was a sound outside the door. Instantly, turning the phone off and placing it back on the nightstand, Ian closed his eyes, pretending to sleep.
He heard the door open and close. Then there was the rustling of clothes followed by footsteps. Feeling the other side of the bed dip, Ian's heart quickened, fully expecting the alpha to try something soon. He waited. Hah, I won’t be able to sleep tonight! But just after 15 minutes, he succumbed to dreamland.
The next day when Ian woke up, he found himself alone. The alpha probably has gone to earn money.
After breakfast, he called his friend, Sean, to ask something.
“Which university are you applying for?” Ian asked his friend after the initial greetings.
“R University.”
“Oh wow! There!” He exclaimed, excited but then said in a sullen voice, “But you’re rich. Of course, you can afford to go there.”
“It’s not like you can’t. Don’t you have a rich husband! I’m sure he’d be happy to help.”
Ian tilted his head, “Oh yeah, he might. I’m not sure. You don’t know but that alpha is not what he looks like.” Another problem came to his mind, “But isn’t that university alpha only?”
“No. Of course not. Although there are mostly alphas. But there are some seats for betas and few seats for omegas too. But…”
“But what?”
“But only for mated omegas.”
“What!” Ian wrinkled his nose. “How disgusting! Why only mated omegas though?” He asked, curious.
“Well, there’s some history behind. At the start, it was intended to be an alpha only uni. But faced with much criticism later on, they had to allow betas and omegas. But limited seats for them. That means many alphas.
“And unmated omegas in a place filled with so many alphas’ pheromones, even with suppressants, which often don’t work, accidents were bound to happen. Uni’s reputation suffered and they had to change their policy to only-mated omegas. Also, not many omegas want to study in a place full of alpha pheromones. They feel uncomfortable or whatever."
“Ohh. So, there’s no chance for me.” Ian said in a dispirited tone.
“Of course, there is. You are at least married. And not with any ordinary alpha. Rayson Vandal recently donated a big sum to R university’s research facility. Go, have a talk with him. With his recommendation, and being his wife, I’m sure this unmated thing won’t be a hindrance.”
Ian tilted his head, thinking. “Hmm. I guess there’s no harm in trying.”
So, at the dinner table, Ian decided to talk about this matter.
“Exam results are out. I did well. So, I’m gonna apply for the university.”
“Hmm. Which one?” The alpha asked without looking up from his plate.
“R university.”
“Oh.” He forked the last baby corn and put it in his mouth, chewing, then nodded. “It’s a good university.”
Ian waited for the alpha to continue, to bring up the matter himself, but he didn’t so Ian had to say it. “But there’s a problem.”
“What problem.” He finally glanced at Ian as he asked in that cool voice of his.
“My friend said…that only mated omegas can attend.”
The alpha filled his plate with the bean salad. “He’s right.”
“So?”
“So? You can take heat-inducing medicine and we mate.”
Dumbfounded, Ian squalled. “What! No!”
“No?”
“Yeah. I don’t want to mate! Yet. Didn’t we just discuss it yesterday?”
“Well, you just hinted that you wanted to mate to attend the university.” The alpha raised an inquisitive brow.
“I didn’t…” Ian felt frustrated. The damn alpha has misunderstood.
The omega felt shy and reluctant to reveal that he just wanted the alpha to use his name to allow him an exemption from this thing. What if Mr. Rayson thought bad of him? Why does this alpha’s brain doesn’t work right, ah!
Feeling helpless and irritated, Ian stood up. “I’m full.”
Rayson Vandal looked at his little omega-wife. “Then who are you filling a plate for?”
“Myself. I’ll be hungry after going to a living room.” He replied crossly.
“Eat here.”
“Don’t wanna.” Plate in one hand and fork in another, Ian put a mouthful of spaghetti in his mouth as he sauntered towards the living room.
Rayson Vandal threw a mysterious-smile at the retreating back of the angry omega.
Ian finished his meal while watching a movie. Then he went back to the room. Mr. Rayson was already there, reading a book.
The omega narrowed his eyes suspiciously. Why is he not in his study today? He went over, got his pajamas then made his way to the door.
“Not again. Where are you going?”
“Other room.”
“To do what? The bathroom is free.”
“To Sleep.”
Rayson sighed, shutting the book with a thud. “Stop, right there.” He calmly said but there was a hint of warning in his tone.
Ian gulped and turned his head to look behind. “I won’t.” He said defiantly. “Wh—why are you standing?” Alarmed, he stuttered out as he saw the alpha stand up. Ian turned around, hurrying his steps to walk out.
Rayson Vandal followed. “I don’t feel like I married a wife but adopted a tantrum-throwing child.”
Tantrum showing child!? Mad, Ian picked up his pace, almost running. “Oh?! That’s because you’re an old man, Mr. Rayso—wahh!”
“And you proposed to be married to this old man.” He lazily reminded, not angry at all at being called old as he swiftly carried Ian up, throwing him on his shoulder without breaking a sweat.
“How outrageous! Put me down!” He almost shrieked, cheeks bulging, facing blowing red. The omega felt a great urge to punch the alpha’s back. He struggled, pajamas forgotten, and lost somewhere. “Put me down! You said you won’t touch me!”
“Mark you until a specified time.” The alpha corrected.
“I’m almost an adult! How could you do this to me! Put me dow—”
Smack!
“Did you just smack my bum!” Ian said incredulously, almost on the verge of blowing up.
“Yes. It’s very bouncy and soft.” As if to give proof for his compliment, the alpha patted Ian’s butt. The calm voice and insolent alpha’s action just poured oil into the firey omega. “No more yelling or I’d pull down your pants and let you taste raw smacking.”
Horrified, Ian immediately shut his half-opened mouth, clearly no longer doubting the evil alpha words.
Rayson threw the incensed and fuming omega on the bed. “No matter how many times you go. I’ll carry you back. Decide wisely, little one.”
“I’m not little.” He glared.
The alpha looked at the angry little omega, amusement in his eyes.
“Ah yes, you’re almost an adult,” he repeated Ian’s earlier words. “So, behave like one.” He finished before turning off the light and returning to his side of the bed.
Trembling with repressed anger, Ian quietly laid on the bed, still, looking into the darkness of the room as he plotted his revenge.
I would surely make you angry to death! That you’d want to smack your head on the wall and die! You two-faced evil alpha! Picturing such a scene in his head, Ian smiled smugly, finding it ridiculous and funny.
