The leader takes the rises and falls but the text holds the key to salvation.
I didn’t seem to have long to wait, after only a couple of minutes, I heard Zoe’s voice in my head.
“Yeah, whaddya need?” asked the voice in my head.
“Um, is there a way to wake him up sooner?” I asked aloud.
“Um do you have to be stoooooooooopid? Duh. He is a robot part. How do you control them?” She asked in a dumbfounded voice.
“Oh. Thanks.” I replied as I put the key in my pocket.
“Who are you talking to?”Asked Alaina, team B’s team lead.
“It doesn’t matter,” I replied, shaking my head.
“Why not?” She pushed.
“Because she probably won't show herself to you. Thats why.
“Ella, please, we need to know who is giving you this information,” she replied pleadingly.
“I can't tell you, I'm sorry,” I looked away from her. There was a moment of silence then I walked over to the robot that was team d’s leader. I melded myself with him. Then, I left the room, and I left the building. I started using his atomic transformer to create food out of dirt. That was pretty much all there was anyway. Alaina found me using the transformer. She knew that was what I would be doing anyways. She sat down next to me.
“Hey, what happens next? At this rate, we are going to need someone using him twenty-four-seven if we want to feed everyone. Even then, it might not be enough. Does that mean we all starve? I doubt that even all four of us can feed all of earth as robots for long. So what do we do?” She asked.
As if to answer her question, a low and behold zombie showed up only a couple of yards ahead of us. It tunneled into the ground, feet first as candy launched up out of it’s open mouth. A couple seconds after it disappeared, It rocketed out of the ground with hidden rockets on the feet. It landed next to the hole with a metal clang. It closed it’s mouth and looked at Alaina. Her mouth was in the shape of an “O”.
The zombie-like robot looked at me. “Zoe will be here in 1 week. She will help with food production in clear fields. That means areas with no debris. They have to be 1 acre segments. She will plant the seeds. You must grow the plants.” It said, then it disappeared.
“Who’s Zoe?” I asked.
“Well, it’s pretty hard to explain…” I said, “however, if we want her to help us, we had better get moving and clear as much space as we can for her to plant seeds. We need there to be no debris at all, and we only have one chance, we only have one week to take it.”
“I will take a speedbot and deliver the message to the north hemisphere. I’ll tell Murphy to bring it to the south. This better work, or we will commit mutiny,” she stood up and walked away. I hoped this would work.
