Back in our universe, Cerberus was used like a tool, not a creature. Humanity wanted her to go kill our enemies for us. I didn’t agree. Still, I wasn’t in charge. In the end, it was decided that we would go to meet the Chamhurs to have them help us. Honestly? I thought that it was a stupid move. I had met Briggs, I knew what the Chamhurs were like. They were aggressive. They would most likely enslave us and make us use Cerberus as a weapon for them. Still, I wasn’t in charge. We packed food and water onto Cerberus’s back while she continued to try to change our minds. She thought it was a bad Idea as well.
After everything was packed, all the humans climbed onto Cerberus, then, as I started to climb as well, I was stopped by the vice-president of the last few years, who was now president.
“You’re not coming-“ she was interrupted.
“Actually, she is,” said one of Cerberus’s heads.
“Who’s the leader here?! Certainly not a mangey dragon!” She yelled at Cerberus.
“Who’s the tiny human who I could kill in a million different ways? Certainly not the ‘mangey’ dragon!” Yelled one of Cerberus’s other heads, “I don’t have to do anything you say! I only need to do what Alise says! You may be the leader of the humans, but I don’t follow humans, and you can’t make me.”
“You are our property!! You belong to humanity, so you have to do what we say!” Yelled the human leader.
“I am NOT an item that belongs to ANYONE!! You have treated me like this ever since I was useful to you!! No more! I follow Alise and ONLY Alise, got that, human?” Growled Cerberus, rearing up and dumping anything not strapped down on her to the ground, including most of the people on her back.
Cerberus shook everyone else off and picked up Alaine, Murphy, and I and flew into space. We were in silence for a couple hours, when we met a pair of ships unlike any I had seen before. It was white and gold with soft pink in some places. The ship next to it was mostly silver and black, with purple tints. They both vaguely resembled alicorns. The white ship opened up a docking bay on the ship’s belly and Cerberus flew in. Inside, I saw zombots rushing around carrying various items. Was this one of the Fairy queen’s ships?
My question was answered then she came down a set of stairs in the docking bay. “Hey, you can use my ships if you want,” She said, “Cerberus messaged me. Also, if you want to use these ships, no human other than you three is allowed here, and you cannot give these ships to anyone else.”
“Thank you,” I said after a moment’s hesitation, “this is very helpful. I thought that you were leaving us forever though.”
“Nope, why would you think that?” She asked.
“Well it seemed like Cerberus was some sort of parting gift,” I replied stupidly.
“I will soon die, that much is true, but I have much more work to do,” she said, putting a hand on my shoulder. “Also, a word of advice?”
“Sure,” I said.
“Humanity may be important to you, but you have much bigger problems. You should head to the library in HQ within the next hour, allies from another galaxy in your universe are there too. They have been fighting beasts like the one soon to be here for a while now.” With that, she was gone.
I followed Zoe’s advice. Cerberus stayed behind, but we went without her. Near my universe’s part of the bookcase, there was another group reading our seres. “Hey, it’s Alise and her crew!” Said one of them, she had blonde hair and a pink stripe of dye just like me.
“Uh, hey, I guess,” I said.
“We were told that you might need our help,” Said the girl. Behind her was a scrawny little boy. He made a silent wave.
“My oracle said something about a big monster, relying on the help of another galaxy, and banding together with my worst enemies,” I stated matter-of-factly.
“Can I see?” She asked, standing up and trying her key in the bookshelf’s keyhole. It opened. She read the latest entry aloud;
The three sins, Pride, Wrath, and Envy
must band together or no future there will be.
A beast, bigger than you believe will come.
You must be ready or rely on the help of other galaxies.
“It really does seem like you’ll need our help. We’re from the same universe as you, just a different galaxy. We call them Sentinals. They have been going into several different galaxies and eating entire planets, squashing bugs like us for fun,” she said, looking at me with an expression of sorrow, “I thought I destroyed their nest, but there may still be a few stragglers, or maybe even another nest. That would be a shame. It was hard enough the first time. We also already put all the gear in storage. I hope it still works.”
“So then you can stop it, right?” I asked.
“From the text it seems that it’s a Titan-Class Sentinel. It took everyone we had to kill the last one, you’re gonna need help because you’ve only got us right now. No one else is coming, as for that first part though, any Idea what it means?”
“Actually, I think I do. Pride, like the Scihmets, which are cat aliens. Wrath, which sounds like the Chamhurs, which are dog aliens, and envy, like humanity. There is no way that we’ll all end up working together. All three of us have each other so much,” I said.
“Well, it’s either that or death, you decide. Meanwhile, I’m going to go do maintenance on our sentinel fighting gear. Bye.” The girl and the boy left.
“Well, we’d better search for clues.”
