Malachi had been gone for over three weeks and Aiden was getting restless. He received the occasional text letting him know that he was alright. But that didn’t stop Aiden from worrying, not to mention how bad his anxiety has gotten with him not around. Every little noisy made him jump he started to resemble a little mouse instead of a wolf it was getting ridiculous.
Right now he was having breakfast with Malachi’s parents, yes he was having breakfast but not actually eating. It was really hard to eat when someone glared at you through the meal. Today he was lucky because Cid decided to join them and Aiden could stomach eating some of his food.
This fact was noted by both elders Colin Hunt frowned as he watched the omega take a few bites of his food while Cid sat engaging him in conversation. His wife Hellen was glaring daggers at the two and the omega immediately stooped eating, Cid bristled jaws clenching encouraging the little Omega to eat again.
Colin looked at his wife in a way she new so well and slid her eyes away from the pair although reluctantly.
Malachi’s father, Colin Hunt, was although very intimidating, quite pleasant to be around his mother was a completely different story. She had accused him of seducing Malachi on more than one occasion. And was always mean to him.
The only problem had been that Aidan did not know what seduce meant and had to ask Will who had double over laughing. Finally explaining it to him in detail, he had blushed furiously and shook his head in denial.
Aiden had even been moved back into the Omega packhouse by the woman the same day Malachi left. Which was even harder because the room didn't have Malachi’s sent causing his anxiety to worsen. During his check-up the midwife got a scare when Aidan’s blood pressure spiked one day and ordered some of Malachi’s things to be brought to his room.
While his bond was away Aiden decided to refurbish his room so he would have some to sleep in comfort when he got back. It kepped his mind busy He chose a mahogany set of dressers and drawer that we're a deep brown. For the bed he settled on a walnut handcrafted bed with a lacquer finish.
The bed had been delivered by his pack just after Malachi left. Aiden had already requested the bed be made two months prior when he called his parents. He loved the work his packs carpenter created and how she always put extra work into the details.
In the center of the headboard a wolf was etched into the wood. The world resembles Balthazar to a T. Aiden had asked around for any photos or paintings of Balthazar but none had any. So Aiden had taken it upon himself to take some and got several good shots when then pack had done hinting one day. His favorite was when Balthazar had stood majestically against the setting sun. The one he chose for the bed frame was more masculine glaring eyes bared fangs and his mane bristling. He hoped Malachi would like the decode.
He also went a ahead and purchased new sheets a beautiful forest green with matching pillow cases and new pillows along with a plain white duvet. All in all, Aiden had been satisfied after he was finished. Altho he had wanted to repaint the walls he would wait until Malachi gave the ok.
Since his little project was done he bade very little to do. He had tried to spend time with Aya and Lucas but their grandmother would have none of it. So he spent most of his days walking around or reading he sometimes even got the courage to chat with the pack members who were always eager for him to join them.
Their very awkward breakfast interrupted, Aiden sighed in relief. Cid took Aiden by the elbow escorting him respectfully out the door and positioning him just so at the too of the stairs. He looked around as the pack started to gather into a semicircle in front.of.the Packhouse. Confused why he stood where the Luna would Stand to greet guests he added move to leave but was stopped by Cid as he took his spot at the bottom if the steps.
Cid and Helen Hunt hung further back, although Hellen was quite displeased about the arrangement.
Cid mind linked Aiden.
"You have to be strong lad. Remember your representing our Alpha, make him proud."
Aiden squared his shoulders and stood at his full hight. His face was schooled into one of calm and a gentle smile pressed his lips. He locking eyes with a few pack members who all noted to him with what he hoped was encouragement. A small hand slipped into his, Lucas and Aya scampered to standing next to him beaming a bright smile up at him.
He soon spotted a group approaching led by Gray his stomach fell Malachi wasn't with them. Altogether he was upset he didn't let it show on his face. He heard a simpler from Aya and squeezed her little hand to treasure her it was going to be alright.
As they got closer it registered in his head who Gray was escorting. He recognized several faces.in the crowd all scared and nervous. There eyes darted around until they landed on Aiden. Now all eyes were on him many in disbelief some in relief at seeing a familiar face.
Gray and Cid greeted each other clasping arms and joining their foreheads together. Cid murdering welcome home brother. Grays eyes lifted to Aidens a huge smile across his face. Aiden couldn’t help himself returned the smile just not as big.
"These omega's come from the Campbell pack and will be part of our own from now on. Everyone please welcome them and treat them with respect."
Grays's voice rang out through the crowd. There was a wave of whispers rippling and slowly dying out.
Aiden walked over to Cid and Gray discussing the options about lodging and clothes and necessities they may need. After a few minutes, a plan was formed and put into action as Aiden fired off the first orders to get all the omega's cleaned while he rests helped him prepare a meal, and gather the toiletries that would be needed.
The good news was that the Omega packhouse had plenty of empty rooms at the moment to accommodate the group.
Aiden was now busy as the pack members would come to him for his approval for their and that while they were cleaning and prepping the rooms and food.
Cid was shooed out of the way when he snuck into the kitchen to see of Aiden needed help. Martha had scolded him for being a pest when they had so much to prepare.
So he sat with Aloha Hunt on the couch watching everyone bustling preparing. Helen hunt chose to retire for the day, refusing to participate in helping Aiden.
Colin Hunt chuckled at Cid's dismissal as he slumped in a chair next to him.
"I'm impressed."The older Alpha said watching Aiden bringing a tray of food out.
"I never expected for all of you to accept him so easily. His the mate of another pack, the pack that killed your last Lunar. I thought you would all dispose him for being connected in any way to that pack."
Cid laughed at the memory of Aiden screaming he was Mikes mate and even demanded, Malachi not to hurt the rest of the pack. He had been visibly shivering from fear but didn't back down even when Balthazar stalked him. But that had proven too much for his mental strength because he fainted just as Balthazar took a step towards him.
A whole pie was delivered to them and two plates the pie was already sliced up, accompanied but a cup of hot coffee. This caught Gray’s attention and he joined the two or daring himself a plate and coffee.
Elder Colin’s eyes widened at the steaming pastry and got coffee neither of them ordered. He took a slice and brought a fork full to his mouth sighing in delight at the fresh backed pastry.
"He does that, you should have seen how many Alphas had requested to take Aiden off of Malachi’s hands. He received at least one request a day once he got back. He was more than a little frustrated." Gray chimed in as the Alpha nodded in understanding.
Aiden came out just as the new pack members were filing in. Cid and Gray stepped up behind Aiden giving him their support as everyone are and received toiletries and a room number they would be occupying.
All of them sent strange glances at Aiden as the omega smiles and laughed along with two dominant Alphas. No fear or reservation about being surrounded by three of them.
Aiden spotted two women she knew for a fact they were alphas and was confused why they would be here until he saw the bite marks on their becks.
"They are all the one the rogues managed to get their hands on during their raid." Gray clarified at Aidens confusion.
"We're all of them raped?" Aiden asked around a lump in his throat.
"Mostly yes, but I have a feeling some have been abused by their pack mates as well.”
Aiden nodded feeling his stomach drop, he had been lucky Allen had thrown him into the Omega packhouse before the attack.
Finally, evening came and Aiden was beyond exhausted he decided to text Malachi and give him an update. A knock jared him out of his thoughts, groaning he got up opening the door and Aya and Lucas slipped in.
He smiled at them and smuggled into the small bed, they brought their favorite bedtime story. He didn't get through an entire page when all three drifted off to sleep.
