~~I am so sorry I haven't updated in months. I have been kind of in a writer's block, but now I am back. I will try my hardest to continue writing for all of you. This chapter is going to have a lot of word vomit, I am sorry. It is important for the story.~~
~~Blaze’s POV~~
Rain slowly hit against the window and grew louder as a storm began. Thankfully, Nova and I were sitting comfortable at a table in the Library.
The Library was humming with soft murmurs of conversation from the small groups of students that littered across the oak floor, some moving in between the shelves, searching for a specific book, some were sitting at tables or at one of the various fireplaces that were ablaze and spread warmth throughout the dark area. The Librarians were - thankfully - relaxing at the front desk, thankful for some peace from pestering students.
Nova was flipping through one of the Lineage books. His eyes skimming the pages quite quickly. I had inquired about it when I first noticed and Nova just stated he reads quick. I glanced down at the Lineage book in my hands. I had one of the more recent ones with family names starting with W. Nova’s was a few decades older.
“Hey…” Nova’s voice sounded softer than normal. Maybe it was his inside voice?
Shaking my thoughts, I glanced down at the book as Nova pointed at a name.
“ ‘Corvus White… Married to Lyra Major.’ Huh. Does that name stick out to you?”
Nova was staring at the name intently. He slowly nodded. I couldn’t help the excitement rising up in my chest.
“He killed Lyra… After their first and only son was born. Draco White.”
“Wait, why did he kill Lyra?” Confusion was evident on my face.
Nova blinked a few times, seeming as if he was trying to remember. “I think it was because Draco wasn’t his kid. Corvus was infertile, he knew from a young age but he still didn’t want to believe it. He had to accept it when Draco was born with white blonde hair.”
“I thought white hair was normal in your lineage.”
Nova shook his head. “No, Lyra got pregnant with her brother’s child. My lineage is incest. Well, it was because of them, but afterwards it wasn’t. The white hair stayed because the two were of pure magic. The hair became a sort of destined gene infused with magic to be the dominant gene.”
The reasoning seemed sound. It wasn’t unusual for magic to take hold of certain strong genes.
“Is there anyone else? Maybe we can find a more recent family member.”
Nova shook his head. “Draco White’s wife and kids are all blacked out. And so is everyone afterwards.”
“What?” I grabbed the book and began following the line. It was true. The rest of the lineage was blacked out.
My frustration was high and it just spilled over and out as I slammed the book down. “Fuck.”
“Excuse me. The Library’s rules are to be quiet at all times.” A bald haired male in the Librarian white cloak was partially floating beside the table, staring at me.
Without thinking I blurted out, “We need help. Can you remove the black?” I showed him the book. The pages having black boxes over all the names.
The Librarian’s pale eyes squinted at me before looking down at the book. His eyes immediately widened and snapped back to mine. “No. Forbidden.”
“But, we need to see it. For a school project.” I easily lied through my teeth.
The Librarian seemed conflicted for a moment before he shook his head. “No. Forbidden. Contact the Headmaster or Headmistress for permission. Leave.”
Nova’s hand gently grabbed the book and set it aside. He grabbed my hand and pulled me up and towards the door.
“Wait. Where are we going?”
“Headmaster.” Nova glanced at me. I could swear the boy had mischief swimming in his eyes.

Thankfully the pathway to the headmaster’s office was covered from the rain. I think the school had some magic that covered the pathways when it stormed. It wasn’t long till we were knocking on the headmaster’s door.
There was a soft voice calling us to enter. Nova pushed the heavy oak door open.Inside, Headmaster Nikoli and Headmistress Nikolette were seated at their respective desks, both reading a thick book binded in worn leather.
Headmistress looked up and smiled. “Blaze, Nova, what brings you both to our office?”
I was going to speak but Nova stepped forward, his voice was rough as he spoke at normal volume. “Tell me about my family.”
Headmaster was turning a page when he stopped. It seemed as if a heavy silence flooded the room as the two looked at each other before looking at Nova.
“It is best that you don’t know. That you continue to not know.” Headmaster spoke, his voice thick and low. I couldn’t tell if he was trying to be stern or if he was feeling guilty for something.
Nova shook his head. His face was relaxed and his eyes bore into the Headmistress’. He stood strong and unwavering. It was very unlike Nova.
“Tell me. I have to know.”
There was another shared glance between the two siblings before Headmistress shut her book and exhaled heavily. She ran her hands over her face, rubbing her eyes before setting them down on top of the book.
“Sit.” She nodded her head towards two chairs sitting in front of her desk.
We both sat. I felt as if something bad was going to be spoken. Something that should be kept unvoiced, but was somehow necessary to be spoken aloud
