Just like that, Lunar and Erien spent some mornings and afternoons together. Midnight ended up coming along for most trips.
Walks along the coast side of Lake Michigan, all three of them, had become a weekend thing in the mornings. Not too many people and Midnight played in the water which she was too happy over.
Just as promised, Erien called off work for a while. With Deimos being a friend and him being the owner, it was easy. Gave more time to hang out with Lunar, and secretly, even if using Midnight as the main excuse to be around him, Erien enjoyed it immensely. To have some peace of mind now around someone who made him feel comfortable, it made Erien cry when he would be alone.
To have something so good like this, it scared him. Nothing good ever stayed for him, so if he could hang onto this for as long as he could, he forever would.
“Erien?” Lunar poked the side of the brunette’s head. Erien blinked back to reality and looked up at Lunar. The larger male beside him smiled in a mix of concern and happiness,” You okay?”
“Oh yeah! Just lost in thought. That happens a lot with me when I’m walking.”
“Okay.”
Today the both of them had planned to just walk around. Most likely to find their way to Grant Park. It had turned into their favourite place to just sit. The fountain was a good view too not going to lie.
As Erien and Lunar walked, Lunar tapped his hand against Erien’s. At first, he thought it was just because sometimes they would have to press together because of people or weave in and out from the crowd and Lunar’s hand would end up against Erien’s. But when Erien learned that it wasn’t by accident after it proceeded when the crowd had ceased. Small flips formed in Erien’s stomach when Lunar’s index finger hooked onto his and didn’t release. Lunar was wanting to hold hands.
“So, Grant Park again? Or do you want to head a different way and just walk around until I have to open up the club?”
Startled from his sudden speak, Erien’s face flushed red as he tugged his hand away behind his back,” Anything is fine. If you rather walk around so you are nearby it’s okay with me.”
Lunar nodded, stuffing his hands into the pockets of his jeans as they kept on walking. Erien hooked his arms around Lunar’s right arm and never looked up. If he looked up, Erien knew he would’ve turned redder than he was already. People were probably looking no less.
Lunar shifted a bit, tightening his arm to keep Erien close. In conclusion, they just walked around. It was too close to the time for Lunar to open the doors to his club.

The familiar crowded dance floor seemed to be lighter than normal. The steps down to the bar area felt as though they floated above everything. The lights, even though dimmed, seemed to twinkle like stars all around. Was it always like this? Had the club dancefloor always been this high energized from the first day he had gone there? Erien didn’t know. He was too busy, his stir stick swirled a whirlpool in his drink the female bartender gave it. It was someone else he noticed. He didn’t like that too much but at least her face showed not to talk to her. Resting bitch face was at one hundred and ten percent.
“There he is!” Lucas and Anon came over, arms in the area as they greeted their friend. Erien rolled his eyes with a smile with quick exchanged hugs.
“Hey, guys. It’s been a while.”
“Sure has sir. Where have you been? You dropped off the face of the earth.”
Erien took a drink from his glass, shrugged with an innocent smile. He was known for that. Ghosting everyone for a while until his soul came back to earth and wanted to deal with people again.
Lucas, Erien and Anon all scooted into a booth. Since it had been some time since the last of them all met up, it was time to get all caught up in one another’s lives.
Amongst that chat, unwelcome faces gathered to the table, Lucas ended up being dragged away by some people to do a drinking contest. Anon snorted, bothered that his younger brother had gotten all the attention. Erien smiled as he fiddled with his black T. He’d been waiting for Lunar to come from upstairs for whatever reason he was up there.
When he did, Lunar was accompanied by a woman, she seemed to be flaunting herself on him. Small sick tight feelings kicked in Erien’s gut a bit. Anxiety had started to kick in. Slow, but it rose as they got closer.
So it was stupid to gain some feelings for him, Erien thought to himself keeping his head down. He didn’t want to see it in case it was true. But it made Erien think back to this morning. Was the arm holding just a friendly thing because of all the people? The hand taps from this morning were really just because of people and when Lunar hooked his finger with his own, was it so he didn’t lose Erien?
“Hey, Anon, I need to sneak out. Someone I know is here and I don’t want them to see me. Can you help me?”
Anon popped the last fry into his mouth with a muffled yep and rose from his spot. Erien followed, Lunar just inches away as he stayed hidden between Anon’s large frame and the bar counter.
“Have a wonderful night Mr Salvatore!”
“You too,” Erien heard him reply back. Just a few more steps. And Erien would be free from the club and he’d walk home and be with Aitne.
“Erien? Are you leaving already?”
Busted though. Jeez, it must be fun being practically a giant person to see everyone and anyone here.
Erien swivelled around on his heels, a forced but believed smile formed to his pale face,” Yeah sorry. I’m just not feeling it tonight. You have a good night. I’ll see you-”
“Can you wait for me?”
Erien pressed his lips together. Lunar looked upset that Erien had decided to leave. And the occasional threatening glance to Anon proved that. But Anon was oblivious to it.
“ Salvatore I have to go. I’m s-”
“Lunar.”
“Huh?” Erien saw how the dark Lunar’s hues turned when he said, Salvatore.
“You know to call me just Lunar. No more Salvatore.”
Erien nodded, motioned his head towards the door,” Okay Lunar.”
As Erien stepped back around to leave, arms trapped him in place. A tight embrace made it harder to ignore than the Night club owner had changed his cologne. Not that anyone was purposely smelling him so they could make a note! No! Erien just happened to have noticed.
“Gross. You smell gross.”
Lunar let go instantly of Erien as he nonchalantly sniffed himself in confusion.
Erien smiled soft,” Your cologne. Not really you. I remembered the one you used to wear. I think it was Armani Code. Hard to find someone who doesn’t wear that one so it’s easy to tell it is that one.”
Lunar mouthed an, oh, his cheeks turned an embarrassed pink. Both of them stayed in a moment of silence before Erien finally left.
“We’ll hang out in the morning. Just come over. The door will be unlocked. Goodnight, Lunar.”
