“So, how was your meet and greet, Lin?” Melissa asked, having her head in her hands and looking like a very skilled detective.
“It wasn’t a meet and greet,” the boy sighed. This woman was a chatterbox, and nosy on top of that, with her red curls holding all the secrets of their workplace. He already regretted befriending this tiny Irish fairy two years ago.
“Then what?” She pursed her red lips together.
“He just wanted to gift me their newest CD. As compensation for the trouble I went through.”
Melissa’s eyes widened.
“Whoah, that’s huge though! It’s release date isn’t until next week, right? And you already have it!”
Lin nodded and grinned.
“It’s even signed.”
Melissa started to fan herself dramatically.
“Whoah, whoah! When’s the wedding, Baby boy?”
A second later she felt an elbow jabbing in her side, followed by a mocked huff. She knew Lin hated to be called that, but she couldn’t help herself. Even though she was smaller than her colleague, she loved to take him under her wings like a mother goose.
“Anyway, I have to get going. People are waiting for their paychecks.”
The redhead smiled and waved, and Lin was glad to get out of there. She would offer to plan their wedding ASAP if she got the chance to do so. He shook his head. No, he was just a fan, nothing more, he told himself. There was nothing more between him and that godly man. But before he knew it, his mind had already wandered into the deep dark of his soul. No Lin, no!

Work had been exhausting. He loosened his tie, dying to get out of this constrictive suit that was mandatory for his job. Why did he ever get into bookkeeping? Sure he was good at it, but he couldn’t really be himself at work. That’s why he loved going to concerts.
Just as he was ready to leave, he got a text. He felt his heart racing as he read from who it was. Alex.
Hey this is Alex. I remember you telling me you worked as a bookkeeper, right? Well, I wanna ask, do you mind helping up out with this finacial stuff for the band? Ofcourse we’ll pay you.
His idol wanted him to do their finances? Maybe Lady Luck was in his favor this time. It was at least a chance to see him again, and not just on stage.
I’ll think about it tonight, okay? Let you know in the morning.
He hit send, packed up his stuff and then went on his way home.
A small town really had its charms, like he didn’t need a car to get somewhere. He could just walk anywhere he needed, and enjoy the clear evening sky. He pulled his scarf up just a bit higher, it was already October after all.
He passed the coffeeshop and saw Lana packing up, it looked like she was done with her shift soon. Leaning against the wall, the bricks’ coldness seeping through his jacket already, he decided he would wait for her. They had to walk in the same direction anyway. Lana was great company, even though she never shut up about her customers outfits of that day.
“Hey Linny, nice seeing you here.”
That voice. Lin had to suppress the urge to growl, he really did not want to see him here.
“What do you want?” he snarled.
The man in the dim lit street held up his hands in defence. He was taller than Lin, and bulkier on top of that too.
“Calm down, calm down! Is that how you talk to your boyfriend?”'
“Ex-boyfriend,” Lin clarified.
The man huffed and shook his head, his short brown curls bouncing with the movement. With a devious smirk on his face he leaned over the smaller man, a hand planted on the wall to suport him.
“Tsk tsk tsk, just because you don’t want to see me anymore, doesn’t mean I feel the same way. I never agreed to us breaking up, remember? You were the one to run away. So you either leave with me or I’ll take your cute little ass right here and now.”
The ex hovered his free hand over to Lin’s face, lightly trailing his fingers over his cheek.
“Don’t you dare, Dimitri,” Lin said while slapping the hand away from his face, “Leave me alone or I’ll get you a restraining order.”
The sound of the store’s door opening distracted the two and they looked to the side where Lana stood.
“Leave Lin alone. We have you on camera, so leave or I’ll call the cops.” She was no bigger than Lin, but her face told them to not mess with her. She could look really scary if she was mad.
“Fine, fine, I’ll go. For now.” He shot a malicious grin at his ex-lover, and then turned around, casually waving them goodbye.
A relieved sigh escaped Lin’s mouth and he relaxed his muscles. He always tensed up in these kind of situations.
