I looked down upon the creature, terror evident in my eyes. It’s eyes dead, body cold. It’s lifeless body almost picturesquely lain, no physical marks on its body. I almost convince myself she’s not dead but just asleep. She hadn’t put up too much of a fuss, almost as if she were aware that her time was out. I saw the life drain from her eyes and almost transfer into mine. That only seemed to urge my killer instincts even more as if my soul had been taken over by a stranger with murderous intent. That’s all I can recall at this moment. I start walking, hoping that I’ll find a house or some kind of shelter before nightfall. Before the cold sets in. I walk until my feet are numb, and I can see my breath in the wind. It was then that I found the house that I would remember to be my home. The house that held the key to my life before my death.
