LEÓN
Violet turned away from me, but I could still see the tears pooling in her eyes. "V-Violet, I didn't... I'm sorry. That's just a sensitive topic."
I heard the soft sniffles she tried to conceal, "No, it's okay. I shouldn't have interfered."
"I know you were just trying to help," I pulled her into a hug and laid her head against my chest. "I trust you, Violet." I whispered near her ear. She raised her eyes to meet my gaze, her tear streaked face glistening in the dim light. "Vi, you are special to me."
Her small arms wrapped around my neck as she relaxed into the embrace, and finally dropped her guard. I hesitantly began to stroke her head, feeling her silk spun hair weave between my fingers. She felt so warm and petite, I was afraid that if I held her too tightly she would break. We embraced for a few moments more before parting.
Violet placed her hand on my cheek, "I've fallen for someone recently."
"Lucky guy. I hope it goes well," I smiled politely and masked the small stinging sensation I felt in my chest.
"Me too," She whispered.
...
VIOLET
León left the room a while ago to find Adonis. I was busy making the bed when I heard a swish ring out through the room. I spun around and squinted my eyes against the dim lighting. An arrow flew past my head. I dodged the second, momentarily losing my balance. I heard another arrow cutting through the air and I ran up the wall then flipped out of the way. I unsheathed my twin blades.
"Not bad, Vi." A familiar voice greeted.
"Ausana!" I blurted and dropped my blades so I could wrap my arms around the dark haired woman.
"Glad you're still on guard," Ausana smiled.
"I thought you were out with the scouts?" I lifted an eyebrow.
"Yeah, then Mr. Boss-man just had to bring me back. I was having fun, too." She pouted.
"Hm, whatever could he bring you back for?" I feigned innocence then gasped, "You weren't bossing around the newbies again, were you?" I sighed but a small giggle escaped my sealed lips.
"Aw, you caught me." Ausana rose her hands in surrender.
I giggled openly this time, "I wonder though, it is kind of strange for him to call you back all of a sudden."
"That's true. I better get going before he throws a fit. I'll see you later." She said as she left the room. The sunlight from the cracked curtain hit her back and perfectly accentuated her lush curves and fair skin.
...
AUSANA
I sighed deeply before opening the heavy oak doors that led into a dimly lit room.
"Jeez, do you always keep it so dark in here?" I forced a chuckle and tried my hand at lightening the mood.
"Ausana," The higher up quickly responded, his deep yet soft voice easily carrying through the room.
"You called?" I said sarcastically and raised a letter into his line of sight.
I glance to the right of my boss, Kion, after hearing movement in the room. I spotted my close friend Killiom leaning against the wall and my body relaxed, before my boss spoke again, "It's about Violet."
"What about her?" I shifted my weight defensively and crossed my arms.
"I have a feeling she may not be pretending anymore. To be in love, I mean." Kion informed and stood from his chair.
"With León?" I suggested with a quirked brow.
"Yes, I don't want to see her getting attached to him. She may get hurt." He sighed when he spotted the small smirk on my lips.
"Aw, do you care for her that much?" I teased with pouted lips and raised my hands to cup my face.
"Cut it out. I was just wondering if you would be open to keeping an eye on her, and making sure that doesn't happen." He glared.
"No way, I'm not going to ruin my little sister's life!" I balled my hands into fists at my side, "Look, Kion. If they fall in love, they fall in love. There's nothing we can do about it. Stay out of their lives." I insisted in a protective tone.
"Right," he responded in a curt tone, and tapped his fingers dismissively on his desk. I glanced over at Killiom and saw an arrogant smile alight on his face. I stuck my tongue out at him. I turned and opened the enormous doors with Killiom following close behind me.
"What a heartless jerk!" I scowled when the door shut behind me.
Killiom giggled, "Hey, he does kind of have a point. He just wants the best for Vi."
I continued to stomp my way down the hall, "More like for the Black Cross."
"Ohh right, and that." Killiom remarked with sarcasm. I turned my scowl onto him and glared. "Please, your highness! Don't pierce my soul with your icy glare!" He gasped dramatically and covered his eyes with the back of his hand, before he gripped at the front of his shirt and stumbled backwards.
"Cut it out," I groaned and shoved his chest.
"But seriously, I would hate to see Vi get hurt, or get her hopes up, only to be torn down. She barely knows the guy," Killiom added and rested his arms around me.
"It's not that I disagree, but we don't know what will happen. You can't just assume things." I retorted and bumped him with my elbow.
"Yeah, okay, Ice Queen." He mumbled.
"What was that?" I questioned gravely, my eyes sharp like daggers.
"Nothing," Killiom chuckled and raised his arms behind his head when we continued to walk.
"I heard you," I hummed.
"Suuuure, okay." He said with a teasing sigh.
"I did, you ass." I smiled and attempted to slap his head as we continued to argue.
