Blake had no idea why he sat on the ground and reached out towards a wolf. Or was it a dog? A really big dog, maybe. A really big, red dog.
The fur was softer than he’d expected. It was fluffy and warm, and the way the dog/wolf thing pushed its head further in to his hand for more head pats was adorable. Chuckling, Blake scratched behind one ear, laughing at the happy sounds the dog made when he did so.
Daring to open an eye, Blake very quickly established it wasn’t a dog. “You’re a wolf, right? But aren’t wolves normally like, kinda massive? You’re a big dog really, aren’t you,” he mused, continuing to ruffle the animal’s hair.
He didn’t expect it to look so offended. “Oh sorry, not enjoy being called a dog?” The animal growled at him, and it should have been threatening, but the tail wags hitting the concrete gave away the wolf’s real feelings.
“Ok ok, you’re a wolf, and you’re the perfect size.” The animal whined, pushing its head into his hand happily. Glancing down, Blake established that the animal was in fact a boy. When he looked back up again, the wolf was staring into his eyes, before it gave his hand a cheeky lick and turned around in a circle, laying down with its head on his lap.
The short moment had been long enough for Blake to see the eyes. And recognise them. They were the same as the dream-boy’s, the golden flecks were even in the exact same place. “You know, I think I had some weird dream about you - am I still dreaming now?”
The wolf tensed on his lap, glancing up at him and nudging his hand with his red and white muzzle again. “Yeah, I had this weird dream. I’ve been dreaming the same thing for quite a while now, like a few months. It’s so awkward to be honest. I’m kissing this boy.”
The wolf froze, and sat up, removing his head from Blake’s lap. “Oi come back, I’m cold now,” he laughed, coaxing the animal back with more head pats. “It’s weird because I have no idea who this boy is…but he looks like this guy I randomly had eye contact with. Well, this guy is my friend’s friend, and now he’s part of our group.”
Scratching one of the wolf’s ears absent-mindedly, Blake continued to tell the animal what he hadn’t been able to tell anyone. “I feel so guilty. I’m gay, but I haven’t been able to come out yet. And as soon as I meet this poor guy, I have a dream where we kiss. How creepy is that. If he knew, I bet he’d run away from me,” he laughed dryly, hoping to keep his secret dream just that forever.
The secret part, not the dream part. If he ever got the chance and the guy wanted a blow job, Blake was all for it.
He was getting off-topic, and also blushing now, and the wolf was staring at him with the same eyes as the boy from the dream. With the same eyes as Atticus. He really needed to confirm if Atticus had eyes like that in real life also.
“You know the weirdest part though?” The wolf licked his hand again - his tongue was warm and soft, and Blake laughed at the touch. The animal made him feel really warm, but he assumed it was just because of all the fur.
“The weirdest part is, whilst this guy I’ve literally met like, two times, was kissing me, and I was kissing him…I started um…kissing him elsewhere too.” The wolf sat up straighter, looking him dead in the eye. “Yeah I know I’m creepy for having a sex dream about a guy I’ve just met, but he’s really cute so cut me some slack.”
The wolf hid its face in its paws, and if Blake hadn’t known better, he would’ve thought the animal was embarrassed. But, it was just a wolf, who didn’t understand human speech.
“Anyway, the weird thing is how in the dream, I kissed this mole he had above his left collarbone. I’d never seen this guy’s collarbones before then (he has nice collarbones, I can confirm that). But I saw him the other day, and I could see that mole.” The wolf lifted its head, and plonked it down on Blake’s knee again.
“I have no idea what’s up with these dreams, but I shouldn’t know there was a mole there. It was in the exact same place. Oh yeah! I heard him laugh in the dream too, when I hadn’t heard it before, and then it was the same in real life too.”
Suddenly, the wolf stood up, shook itself, licked Blake on the cheek, and dashed off. If it wasn’t for the red fur left coating his black jeans, he would’ve thought he imagined it all. “Am I seriously going crazy?”
—————
Atticus ran all the way home without stopping for even a second. He dreamt about me. He had no idea how to interpret that this guy had a sex dream about him; that he’d unpack with Riya later.
Oh yeah, he was definitely telling her that little bit of information.
However, he would keep the fact that Blake had come out to him to himself - he clearly wasn’t comfortable with others knowing, so telling someone else would be a dick move.
A side note - Blake had called him cute. That one word had no right to send as many butterflies through his stomach as it did, and it shouldn’t make him wish he was in human form so he could smile properly.
It was one damn word.
But oh God Atticus was elated. He was fairly certain this Blake was his mate - all he needed to do was touch him in human form, and BAM they were supposed to get some kind of feeling. After his little chat with Blake, Atticus felt less ashamed for staring at the guy so much - he hadn’t done the ultimate awkward of jerking off to his face, so apparently, he was one step ahead of Blake.
OH MY GOD HE HAD A SEX DREAM ABOUT ME!!!!!! The thought continued to jolt around his head until Atticus burst into Riya’s house, dashed up the stairs to her room, and scratched at the door until one of her parents let him in.
