I see others build sandcastles 
I have some of mine own
But I am trying to make one like theirs

I try my best to make one
But the waves come up and wash it away

Sometimes others give me advice
"Try a different type of sand!"
"Build a moat around it!"
"Use buckets"

But none of those can stop the waves

I use their advice anyway
But before I finish the waves come and wash it away

I feel their eyes on me every time
They don't understand why I can build other castles

But not this one

I know they want me too build it
I keep doing my best to make it work
But they don't believe me when I say that

since I can build other castles just fine

I want to scream but before a voice creeps in

"Why are you trying to build this?"
Because thats what everyone wants
"Well I don't want it. Do you?"
I don't, this isn't what I want to build

"Then work on what you want"
But what about them? 
They'll be upset
"It isn't important if they are,"
"It's more important we're happy"

I want to ask it what they mean by 'we'

but they don't want to explain yet
