Miele
The building looked small, only one floor, but that's because all the action happened underneath it, the rooms, the bar, the dancers. I was about to head inside and have fun, get my mind lost for the night, let the release of another girl free it from the depressing thought of how my father looked like and the annoying ass who's all to blame. Maybe I'll take JC this time, it's been long since I had her with me in the sheets. Smiling like an idiot, I walked forward but was grabbed and dragged away from the building.
"What the hell?!" I roughly pulled my arm away from the guy, he was tall and bulky, I can't see much from his hat, shades, and coat.
"Go home, something's gonna happen to your brother," Ominous as it sounded, I believed it because I would do anything to keep that midget out of harm's way. I was about to pull the guy to ask him more questions like how does he know this, or most importantly who he is and how does he know me. But when I looked around, I was all alone, there was no one else with me. I scanned the line of people waiting to go inside of Miele but there was no one who looked like the person who just pulled me.
I got out my phone and dialed Ash's number, whoever that guy is, he sounded so sure that my brother is in danger. As stupid as it may seem, my gut is also telling me to just go home so that I can keep watch on him and make sure that he is safe and sound. The phone rang a few times, making me more indignant with every passing ring. After what felt like ages, he answered me, sounding as bored as usual. "What do you want Tony?"
"Hey, you okay? Some weird dude just pulled me aside and talked about you being in danger and sh1t, so I'm just calling in to check," I said, already on the route home. The commercial buildings grew less and less as the village entrance came into view.
"Yeah, yeah I'm good." There was a short pause on his end and a shuffling of papers, "Weird thing though is that a guy also talked to me earlier saying something similar. Said something like, there's this thing that's gonna happen and that we should escape to the Dreadlands, of all places." The sky was darkening, the sun setting as more and more police officers stationed themselves outside the entrance of every other village. Androids outside of shops turned into their standby mode as their owners brought out their charging pads, their eyes closed and heads lulled forwards as their skulls opened to become a camera. A feeling of repulsion went through me, making me shiver as I saw the transformation happen. I shifted my gaze away to focus on the road in front of me.
"I'm home!!!" I heard my mother's voice over the phone, Ashton giving her a quick reply as I heard him start to walk. "Is your brother here?"
"No, but he's coming back in a few-" Ashton suddenly stopped with whatever he was about to say, "-Who is this?" The line cut off at that, which made me panic and walk even faster than before. I saw our house in the distance, an unknown car parked in front of the gate. I ran up to the door and swung it open, hearing voices in the lounge. Stopping to regain my normal breathing, I slowly walked to the lounge and made my presence known instantly.
"Ah! Anthony, just in time! I would like you to meet my match, Frederick," Mother stood up along with the man that was next to her. He looked young, but none the less dapper. His black hair was slicked back, showcasing his honey-colored eyes and pale skin. He extended his hand out to me and I shook it stiffly, something about this guy is off. I don't know if it's just him or the aura that both he and my mother are giving off, there's just something that's not right with them. I took a seat next to Ashton, who barely said anything in the past few minutes.
He didn't even look at me when I sat down, a face of pure horror on his face. "What's going on?" I asked as I looked at them both, having abnormally large smiles on their faces, which creeped me out greatly.
"You see, Hunny, We're getting married, and we can't have dysfunctional children from my old husband walking around and giving bad reputation, that's why we're selling you both," She finished with a giggle as if it was so normal to just sell your own son away to whoever.
"What?! Have you gone crazy woman?!" I'm enraged, she's giving us away like we were nothing, like she didn't carry us in her for nine months and went through the pain of labor. Who wouldn't feel angry?
"Anthony, it's not only that," Ash grabbed a hold of my wrist, pure fear smoldering in his eyes as he looked to me and then back to the couple in front of us. "They want us to go through the burning as well."
"WHAT?!"
"Yes, well you see," Mom smiled sickeningly sweet at the guy, grabbing his hand and intertwining their grubby fingers. "The head of the council somehow got the information that you two had sexual relations with an outlander, it was so scandalous even I was embarrassed."
"What the hell are you saying woman?! I never did that and Ash is a total virgin so he would never-" I might have, a few times.
"Lying to your own mother?" The man, whose name I didn't bother to remember, stood up and towered over the two of us, his smiling face a weird enigma of what is coming.
"What? You know what, no, I don't have time for this bull, Come on Ash let's go," I dragged my brother up and walked towards the front door, him stumbling after me like a blind man. I threw the door open and was greeted with a laser cannon to my face. I looked up and saw Sophia standing there, arm transformed, her eyes a blood-red color as her mouth was drawn in a tight line.
"You can't leave when you're under house arrest," The man strode out into the hallway, our mother hanging off him like a hungry leech. "Honestly, shouldn't you be ashamed of yourselves? acting without discipline? Dear, you must be so fed up with them," He looked at my mother and stroked her face, leaning down to give her a disgusting open-mouthed kiss.
"Mhmmmm yeah, I'm so tired of them, please give me new babies," She clung to him harder, her arms wound around his neck, one of her legs going around his thigh. I heard belching noises beside me and saw that Ashton was hunched over, what once his breakfast, a messy goop now on the floor. A small circular robot came over and sucked it all up, disinfecting the spot, and left the room.
"Rude, Exactly like their father," Our so-called mother looked at the two of us in distaste as we glared back at her.
"Alfred, take them up to their rooms please, make sure they can't get out till their trial," She said and her Android, that was told to look like an old typical butler, materialized beside us, the same red eyes and dead look on his face. His arm also turned into a gun as he pointed it directly at my forehead and with a robotic voice he spoke.
"Come or be exterminated," He said, the sound of his voice was still that of Alfred when he was normal, but it had a typical robotic edge to it.
"Mother, you can't be serious about this," Ashton said beside me, he was grabbing onto my arm for dear life.
"I am, boy, We can't have you both walking around with the possibility of ruining this relationship for the both of us," She said, glaring at the two of us and then staring dreamily up at the guy beside him. "Go on then, take those two up and make sure they won't be able to get out. Now, where were we, my love."
My brother's AI, Raven appeared in front of us, taking hold of both of our arms and dragging us up the stairs. From what I saw, he also had the same red eyes as the two other androids. The three dragged me and my brother up to his room, where we saw, our father's Android, completely broken and torn apart. My brother's room was a mess, clothes everywhere, closets and drawers were strewn, lampshades and bulbs are broken, the floor had some parts which are carpet and some which are wood means that it's likely broken and dysfunctional.
We were shoved beside the broken Android as the door slammed and we were trapped there until the day we are set to be burned.
