Okarg relished the impact of his large foot on Malach’s ugly face. He watched condescendingly as the gaunt creature went down in a heap, spitting blood.
“Let’s have no more of that now.” He snorted. “Orego, you remain here with your mate and pup and watch over this cur. While the rest of us go get our long awaited dinner.”
His brother nodded in grim silence and even if Orego didn’t like being left behind, Okarg couldn’t care.
He would not have Malach ruining another hunt again, especially since he was more useless now than before, if that were even possible.
“I see them now.” Okana whispered. “That tall male could be trouble and so could that skinny female we took before.”
“That one, with the crown of sunlit hair.” Okarg pointed at one of the female Humaine sitting on a fallen tree trunk. “She looks the weakest, and so tender. Leragh! Graga! You two draw the others away, scatter them apart… while Okana and I corner the weak one and take her. Go now.”
watched the two hulking brothers rush away, howling and snarling.
They burst out in front of their quarry, making the five Humaine young instantly leap to their feet.
One of them, the tall lad, drew something that flashed in the sunlight like summer lighting.
