"I am a Lizard?" The familiar voice asked, now coming directly from the little white and blue lizard in front of Yvie. Yvie nodded with full power, as the entire room kept rumbling. The stone-like walls started to cave in, as Yvie was too enamored with the little creature in front of her.
"We have to get out" The Lizard said in an urgent tone, starting to run. It was confused at what was happening, but knew that this place was for answers. Not for questions. They had upset the balance, and had to get out.
Yvie followed, as she finally looked around. The rumbling grew ever bigger with each step they took, as they were running out. Yvie wondered what to do about the clothes she was wearing, as it would be hard to take it with her.
As they ran out, light showed itself, guiding them. It was no longer the soft light of the moon, but the sun, that had taken over the job of showing them the path. Yvie closed her eyes, getting ready to fall directly into the water as they reached the door, but she didn't. Instead she stepped on solid ground, opening her eyes, peeking around.
"Where is this?" Yvie asked fascinated as she looked around the place. There was nobody and nothing there, but it still seemed like it was a place buzzing with life.
"This?" The Lizard asked as well, not all too sure about what to say. It had only ever had the answers to things beings would seek out in the cave. It didn't know anything about outside of it.
"This is a… Uh…" It tried, trying to find something to say. Just a little thing it could answer.
"It's okay if you don't know" Yvie broke in, as she sensed what was happening.
"If we don't know something, we'll figure it out!" She said, excitedly, although, there was a sense of anxiety in her as well.
'How can a place so barren, feel like it's full of life?' She wondered, looking around, trying to figure out if it was just her imagination.
She decided to turn into a snake, to get into better contact with her instincts. They hadnt failed her yet. In the start, she had been dubious, as it felt like it told her what to do, but after listening some times now, it was clear that it was on her side. Otherwise it wouldn't have stopped her from hearing the story.
'What's this… Vibration?' She pondered, as she felt her entire body pulsating.
'Oh, this is!' She thought, immediately turning back to a girl, as there was no time to waste.
"They are underground! A lot of them!" Yvie said, trying to figure out what 'they' were.
"But I think they are coming this way…" Yvie whispered, feeling her instinct once again pulling at her. It was time to get going. This wasn't a place they should be. They didn't even know where they were or how they got there.
"What should we do?" The Lizard asked, as it started to freak out. There was no better way to put it. It ran around in circles, dropping it's tail, not knowing up from down.
"Calm down" Yvie said, a bit annoyed. She wasn't supposed to be a babysitter, after all.
"They aren't here yet, so we just need to hide" She sounded like she had the situation under control. But inside, she was starting to be scared as well. There wasn't much to do. They really had to hide. Then figure out what kind of beings were living here, and then find a way to get away.
"Can't we go into the cave again, just staying in the opening?" Yvie asked, wanting to try out what se was saying as she once again put on her clothes, since she had nearly forgotten it. Just as she picked it up, she saw another shed skin glistening in the light.
"We can use this as bait" She said, feeling a bit sorry for this earlier version of her skin, that would now be sacrificed. Maybe.
"The door is gone…" The Lizard said regretfully, as it looked right at the place it should have been. Yvie hadn't noticed, but at some point, the gate had disappeared.
Yvie bowed down to pick up the tail, holding it together with her shed skin. Then she looked around, trying to scan the place again. There was nothing. No trees, no hills, no sand, no water. There was only them, and whatever was coming.
"Let's just try going this way" Yvie pointed to the opposite side of where she had sensed the incoming vibrations from.
The Lizard said nothing, and just followed as they started to run again. They didn't get far, before sudden huge rock appeared behind them.
"Oh, it's like the gate!" Yvie shrieked happily, as she was aware of this phenomenon. As she had tested out with the gate, when it appeared in the water, you couldn't see it from one side, but could clearly see it from the other, as well as go through it from the way you couldn't see it.
"We can hide here" Yvie said, thanking the rock for her being able to take a break.
"Are you sure?" The Lizard said doubtfully. It hadn't yet fully figured out what was going on at all. For someone who was used to have all the answers, without even asking the questions, it was a bit uncomfortable for it to be in this position.
However, there wasn't time to be uncomfortable, as the incoming entities were getting closer. Yvie studied the way they moved closely.
"I think the gate was made here" She then said, just think out loud, as she noticed how the entities was running like they were avoiding things, but Yvie couldn't see anything. So it must be like the stone they were hiding behind, as well as the gate.
'Did I just deduce something again?' Yvie thought proudly, still keeping an eye out.
Even though Yvie had a clear view, she couldn't really see what they were. The sun shone down, making them all so dark to look at, and the shadows as well as the shapes, was not something Yvie could pinpoint.
They came closer. And closer. And closer. Yvie tried hard to figure out what they were, while the Lizard hid behind her, urging her to take her head in, as she would otherwise be noticed. Yvie agreed with this, and turned into a snake, so she could keep an eye out from down on the ground.
One thing she hadn't thought about, though, was how her skin tended to glisten in the rays of light, and the sight of this led the entire group of incoming beasts to a hold.
"LIIIIIIIIIGHT!!!!" The group yelled, as they looked directly at Yvie.
'Oh no, what now?' She thought.
