A Whole Different Life [Book III]

Chapter 4: Peace Is A Topic That Never Rests [Final Part]

Chapter 4: Peace Is A Topic That Never Rests [Final Part]

Nov 29, 2020

Note: My apologies for not uploading yesterday! I was tired as all I know :,D. I owe y'all an extra chapter (Mostly because this chapter is so gosh-darn short)

The weapons...I wouldn't deny the fact that they looked like something straight out of a novel and that was saying something considering the world I was in right now!

In the Chieftess' left hand, there was a sword. The hilt was a silverish color, two black stripes wrapping around before there was an onyx gem in the middle! The blade itself was a dark but passionate rose color as glowing yellow letters were engrained into the very blade itself. Daemoniums tended to speak Latin most of the time and yet...these words? It was completely unknown to me.

However, the sight of the spear in her right? That's what made my jaw drop to the ground.

It was gorgeous! The blade resembled a smaller version of an axe, the color being a dark golden while a small blue flame pulsed around it from time to time. The hilt, like the sword, was a silverish color with two black stripes wrapping around it yet the gem was a ruby instead of an onyx. But, unlike the other gem, markings and enchantments circled around it before a glowing, carved in drawing of a fox was centered right in the middle of the gem.

‘Everyone loves the Queen.' I thought with a sigh, the sight of Ortilla stopping right in front of us quickly making me straighten myself up a little.

"I will not hold you two back for too long, the Queen's army moves quickly and rarely rests" Ortilla started off.

"But...these weapons, they should provide you two some help along the way." She hummed before handing off the spear to Ryzel.

The sound of his gasp made me turn my head to look at him. "Ortilla, you know I can't take this-"

"Spare me the humbleness will you?" She scoffed. "Take the spear, use it to protect not just yourself but your mate as well. Besides, you'll be giving it right back to me once you come back!" She continued, a small tear rolling down her face before she quickly wiped it away.

"You promise to come back, little brother? Safely?"

As he gently took the spear, holding the weapon in both of his hands as if it was the most precious gem in the world, he then gave her a stern nod along with a quiet chuckle. "Of course! When haven't I ever been safe?" He said.

"Oh I won't even answer that-"

"Ill be fine soror! No new scars or anything."

She turned towards me with a cocked brow. "Make sure he doesn't get into trouble." She mouthed before I nodded with a small snicker following afterward.

"Besides you'll ruin this tribe with your terrible pastries if I stayed gone too long after all."

"Now I suddenly don't want you to come back." She grumbled, gently shoving her brother with a quiet laugh before she turned towards me.

“This sword...it was forged using materials from our homeland. The language in the lost tongue of the Beasts, will serve as an extra form of protection.” Ortilla hummed before she handed me the sword with an equally sad smile.

“Keep yourself safe, will you? Besides my baby brother, more than just a few people need you.” She said as I tied the sword to my waist.

I flashed her a grin. “Don’t go stressing me out now hm? I’ll keep him safe; I love him just as much as you do.” I said, the sound of Ryzel getting onto Akuji’s back giving me a quick reminder to shift.

“It's settled then, go now. Bring honor to not just your town but to our tribe as well!" Ortilla announced.

"Bring some much needed peace to these lands and maybe...just maybe, we'll enter into a new era." She smiled, the drumming only growing fiercer and fiecer alongside the chanting before Akuji suddenly raised onto his hind legs with a powerful neigh before he rushed off.

It didn’t take long for me to give Ortilla one last goodbye before I shifted and raced after the pair.

One last adventure...one last grand mission to put this world at peace. That’s all I wanted, for both my mate, his tribe as well as my village!

Anything that would guarantee peace for the future.

A deep growl reverberated from within' her chest, the Beast looking at me as if I had said the most offensive thing in the entire world.

"...Learn this and learn it well human, the hatred is far too deep. Do not mistake our respect for you, as a fighter, as a warrior, as a woman. Respect does not equate to friendship."

“...Learn this and learn it well human, the hatred is far too deep. Do not mistake the respect as a fighter, as a warrior, as a woman equates into friendship.”

"Tell you my name and learning hers-" She pointed a clawed finger towards the Owl. "-Doesn't mean we are equal; this world is not your world, you should know better, that in a world with so many races? Things are far from simple."

The final battle to end the 50-year long war between Beasts and Paladins begins to dawn. After narrowly escaping the Desert and spending some months licking her wounds, Eos finally decides that enough is enough and decides to fully join in on the Beasts' conquest. However...her journey to cure this world? Steer it from a path that was similar to her world's? It very may well prove near impossible to do so.
