Earth 12.02.3777 [Zyla, Callista]

5 years later.

It was a windy day as the trees and grass danced and a lovely tune could be heard from afar.

The school, which could be seen from a distance, reflected the sun that was slowly going down. A nice pink and orange hue is shown on the sky. The clouds cluttered on the opposite side, showing the dark night that was about to come.

A fairy fluttered by with her glowing wings as she lied down near the six kids who were taking a break and sleeping.

A fairy with wings sometimes brings trouble, they usually act a bit coy, but they love being near humans and showing off their wings. Their wings were their pride, not a lot of fairies had wings, and those who did bragged about it all the time.

This particular fairy loved the warmth Solaris’s hair gave off, as did the other 5 who cuddled around her hair. As the six got older, their powers got stronger. Solaris was able to grow her hair to any length now, and as she did, her classmates wrapped themselves around her hair to keep them warm from the chilly breeze.

It was pretty common for humans and other species to come up to Solaris during winter and try to steal her warmth. Zyla was a place that didn't snow, but the winter time was definitely cold, especially since Zyla was mostly a plain as it was connected to Deredra, Aria. Aria was a continent filled with plains, and some high trees, while Callista was covered with many mountains and trees. As you go down south of Callista and reach Zyla, the mountains become scarce and you are left with hills and plains.

Solaris then started to have a headache, having six people wrapped around her long hair was becoming a pain to her, especially when she had to emit warmth to her hair. It was taskful to emit just enough so that they wouldn't burn, and the weight of her long hair, as well as the weight of the six increased her headache.

She decided to wake them up by emitting more heat into her hair, she succeeded when she heard Aiko's shrill voice as he jumped up and looked around.

He had a red mark on his face from where he slept, making Solaris chuckle at the sight. The rest followed as they jumped out from her hair, then the fairy who was also stealing her warmth flew away with a huff.

"Having headaches again? Do you want some water?" Nym asked with a worried tone and offered her vile of water to Solaris.

The sun was getting dimmer and the wind was blowing by faster. The warmth from Solaris’s hair now gone, the six shivered.

Solaris accepted Nym’s water, but before she could grab it, Laputa, their classmate, snatched it from Nym’s hand first and took a sip.

"Mmm, it's warm." Laputa snickered and passed the bottle to Solaris who then snatched it from her hand.

Solaris recalled the first time they met, Nym had asked her what she said to the judges with her eyes white. Laputa replied 'one of us is missing, the other one is gone'.

Nym didn't understand what she meant, Laputa didn't either, she didn't even know she had said that.

Laputa had magic that allowed her to predict a possibility of the future. Her predictions weren't always right, for they were only a possibility of what could happen. However she can't recall what her prediction was, it used to come randomly, but now she has more control over her magic.

"What was that for Solaris!? I was having a good dream!" Luck whined and faked a tear. Luck had the magic to control lighting, or any form of electrical currents.

"Stop shouting, you're so annoying." Solaris groaned and tried standing up, but she got up too quick that her head felt dizzy. Nym and Yuno then caught her and held her steady. Yuno was half elf and his magic allowed him to manipulate the wind. He was actually from the Wind Elf tribe, so his magic wasn't a surprise to his family.

The six had gotten quite close after they hung out a few times. Their personalities clashed so well together when they were young that they stuck together even when napping.

Nym looked at the setting sun and it reminded her of sweet potatoes. Luck had the same idea as he rubbed his stomach and shouted once again. "Let's get some food!" Luck bounced up and down from where he stood and Nym turned to Solaris while violently shaking her head.

Soon the sun went to bed, leaving a dark purple hue and twinkling stars in the sky. The moon was dim but still gave light to the six who stood still admiring the view it gave to their school that they could see in the distance.

The other four soon followed Nym and Luck and rubbed their stomachs. When they were ready to leave, they all stood behind Nym and waited for her signal.

"Alright, should we go to my house? My mom has some sweet potatoes that we bought yesterday!" Nym was still thinking about the color of the drowsy sun from earlier and offered to take her friends to her house. They all nodded their heads at the same time and Nym smiled.

"Okay! Here we go." At her signal, they all sat down at once on top of Nym's stardust magic. Nym had the ability to do almost anything with her stardust magic, she was able to fly and take her friends with her on the journey.

While taking her friends through the sky, they all spotted a glowing purple cloud at a village quite far away. However the glowing cloud was big enough to be seen from where Nym and the others had been. Nym gave a questioning look to the others behind her to see if they should check it out, but Luck cut her thoughts off with the thought of food.

"The later we go to your house to eat food, the hungrier we'll get! Let's just go Nym, the upperclassmen will take care of that." The rest nodded their heads in agreement.

Class S of 72 didn't do as much as the older class S, there weren't any problems in Zyla because everyone is usually nice and peaceful. There would occasionally be a few monsters that have spawned around the area, but the upperclassmen were usually the ones to take care of them.

The monsters that spawn are not from the borders of Graciela, an Alchemist and a Sorcerer accidentally created an anomaly where monsters would spawn within the crops or the weather or the floras. As usual, monsters have no souls, and the monsters that spawned once in a while around the world were not the same as the monsters that border Graciela, they weren't able to mimic and they weren't as strong.

It is now illegal for a Sorcerer and an Alchemist to be working together, the consequences of their actions had caused an abrupt shift between their leaders. This created tension between an Alchemist and a Sorcerer and now they are seen as enemies.

The purple glowing cloud could have been where monsters spawned, so Nym knew the upperclassmen would take care of it, she didn't worry as she soared through the sky with her friends and took them to her house for dinner.

Her mother, Pandora Horne, was steaming the sweet potatoes as the six arrived at Nym's home. Pandora smiled as they all walked in and stayed in the kitchen.

"Mom, is there enough sweet potatoes for my friends?" Nym walked towards the kitchen while the five slipped down on the couch near the door getting sleepy once again.

"Yes, I can put more." Nym's mother smiled and added three more potatoes to the furnace. Nym smiled as she watched her mother cook while drool came out of her mouth. She forgot about her friends waiting in the dining room and only watched as the sweet potatoes got more and more appetizing. She stood still with amazement in her eyes as she watched her mother cook, her hunger growing by each movement her mother made.

Pandora then took the potatoes that had already been in the furnace for a while and carefully placed them on a plate. They were extremely hot, however Nym was ready to pounce on them. The sweet smell spread throughout the house and soon the other 5 walked towards the kitchen waiting for the potatoes.

Pandora had already anticipated to have more company, so she had already placed six potatoes in the furnace earlier. When Nym came home with the bag of sweet potatoes in her hands, she had excitedly asked her mother if she could bring her friends over to eat the potatoes.

The sweet potatoes are hard to grow in Callista, however the soil in Aria is great for growing sweet potatoes, and since Zyla is right above Aria, it was easy for Nym to make a trip in search of them. They taste best when eaten during winter.

Pandora smiled and handed Nym the plate of sweet potatoes to give to her friends to eat. She licked her lips as she took the plate and quickly brought it to the dining table to eat with her friends.

Laputa was the first to take a potato, she held it up in front of Aiko's mouth with delicate fingers, waiting for Aiko to cool it down for her so she could take a bite. Her fingers were starting to hurt as she held the burning potato in her hand, the sensation was similar to earlier when Solaris increased the heat of her hair. The feeling made her cry when Aiko still hadn't cooled down the sweet potato for her and she almost dropped her delicious looking potato. Aiko then held the potato that almost fell in his hand and quickly blew on it, as it almost burnt his fingers.

"Hey what was that for! That's my sweet potato! Give it back Aiko!" Laputa whined as tears formed in her eyes.

"Maybe don't shove a delicious looking potato in my face? I can't help but wanting to take it from you." Aiko smiled towards Laputa while holding her potato, he was about to take a bite when Laputa made an unbearable sound.

The sound made Aiko feel grossed out as he handed the potato back to her. The other four followed suit and held their potatoes to his face, making him feel the heat from them. The sweet smell that came near his face as he also licked his lips made his stomach turn and he quickly blew on each potato before grabbing the last one and doing the same.

He pouted while taking a bite and then glared at his friends. He didn't like how they always shoved hot food up his face like that, however his friends kept on doing it and Aiko would always reluctantly cool off their food for them. He thought that this is what friends are for and smiled to himself before devouring his potato.

Luck was still standing and he bounced as he ate, causing Pandora to worry. "Luck, you might choke if you keep bouncing while you're eating, please stay still." Nym turned towards Luck and watched as he sat down on the chair next to Yuno. She then turned towards her mother and gave her a thumbs up with a smile, then finished her potato in a few bites. She then licked her fingers as the caramelized potato stuck to them and she patted her stomach, unsatisfied with how much she ate.

"Mom is there any pumpkin pudding? Or any cherry pie?" Nym walked towards the kitchen where her mother still stood and looked around for any other delicious food to eat right away.

She then noticed a circular pan and her stomach grumbled again. "We only have blueberry pie and chocolate pudding, you didn't buy any pumpkins Nym." Pandora saw where Nym was looking and handed her the pie, as well as uncovering a pan with chocolate pudding. "Oh, I'll make sure to go down to the next town and buy some, this time of the year they have a sale on pumpkins!" Nym waited as Pandora gave both of the desserts to Nym and she happily took them to the table, then ran back to grab silverware for her friends.

"Thanks mom! I'll make sure to save you a piece!" Nym then ran back to the dining table, not wanting to keep her friends waiting for dessert, and after she handed them the silverware, they all took a bite from the pie and pudding. The kids stuffed their mouths full of food till they became satisfied, leaving only a small piece for Nym’s mother.

Laputa stood up and stretched and scanned Nym’s small house. The walls were painted with a floral pattern and the floor had red carpet, a luxury that was quite hard to find and even to afford. Laputa always liked this carpet, this was the kind of carpet you could only get if you lived in the capital and worked for a long period of time. Nym had mentioned that her father had gotten it for them when she was young, how happy it made the small family feel to get luxury carpet, it was as soft as a rabbit's fur.

She walked around the small room, avoiding the kitchen and once again admired the small abode. Every time she came here she felt the exact same thing, warm, but at the same time she could also feel that something was missing.

Nym quickly took the pan that still had a small piece of dessert left to the kitchen for her mother. Pandora smiled at Nym and patted her head before eating the last piece of dessert.

"Nym, it's getting quite late, why don't you take your friends home?" Nym looked up at her mother in wonder and then looked out the window from the kitchen. She saw how high the moon was and gasped.

"Wow the moon is so pretty tonight!" As Nym got sidetracked, Pandora smiled and patted her head. Nym then turned to look at her mother and also gave her a smile.

"Okay I'll be back soon then mom!" Nym then left the kitchen and walked towards the dining table where only Solaris, Aiko and Yuno sat. Luck and Laputa were near the opposite side of the house admiring the photos on the wall.

Pandora had made extra sweet potatoes, but it seemed that Nym and her friends looked full, so she stayed in the kitchen watching as her daughter smiled towards her friends.

"Okay guys it's time to go! Do you need a ride home, Luck?" Nym turned to face Luck who wasn't bouncing at the moment, he smiled and yelled out his answer. "Nope! I'm a fast runner. Wanna race?" Then Luck started running in place to show Nym that he could run fast, this made the rest who were watching laugh.

"No, I can't run fast. Plus we just ate, I don't want to get cramps." Nym rubbed her stomach as she answered Luck, thinking about food. Luck shrugged his shoulders and started running in place again.

Yuno stood up and walked towards Luck, grabbed him by the collar, and dragged him outside. "I'll take him home Nym, you should stay with your mom." Yuno lazily walked out the door, bidding farewell to his friends before creating a small spiral of wind and stepping on it, to which it lifted him and Luck up in the sky and breezed towards their destination. Nym and Solaris looked at the door in a bit of shock by how much Yuno spoke in one sentence today.

"Do you think something good will happen now?" Laputa said while twirling her hair. She smiled as she looked back and forth between Nym and Solaris. Both girls just shrugged their shoulders in response, not knowing what to say. Yuno wasn't much of a talker, he expressed himself through actions rather than words, so it wasn't a daily occurrence for him to utter even one sentence.
