I climbed down the tree and looked around. I saw no one, I sniffed the air, didn't smell anything either.
"Liam you can come down."
"Ok, coming." he says. He throws my backpack down first, I catch it and put it on. Then he throws his.
I watch him as he climbs down the tree. "Are you ready?" I ask as he puts his backpack on.
"Yea, but don't forget we still need to go to the stream to get water before we leave."
"Right." I reply.
We started walking to the stream of water that we've already went to countless of times. I kneel down and take my bag off my back, I pull out the empty jug and put it into the water, filling it up. Liam is beside me scooping up water with his hands and drinking it. After I put the full jug back in my bag I do the same. After a few moments of drinking I stood up and but my bag back on my shoulders
"Are you ready to go now?" I ask Liam.
He stands up "Yea, lets move."
He looks down at his compass and points to the left of us. "That ways south." he says.
We start walking in that direction. We walked for a few minutes in silence before I heard something. "Stop Liam." he stopped walking. I smelled the air, it was....rabbit.
"Hey Liam? " he looked over at me. "Wanna go hunting?" His face brightened at the word. Hunting was his favorite thing to do. He nodded his head eagerly.
We both went behind trees and took our clothes off. And then we turned. My wolf is white. Liam's is white and gray. Liam sniffs the air, a moment later he darted into the woods. I tried my best to keep up with him, but I keep losing sight of him.
Damn it he knows he's not supposed to run off without me, people could be around.
But of course I can't call him, I mean I could howl but others might hear me if I do. I quicken my speed. I can see him running here and there but the woods is really dense with trees right here.
Suddenly I hear a yelp. Shit. I run even faster towards his direction. I ran up to a clearing were I see a man holding my brother by the back of the neck. I growl. The man looks over too me, "Now who do we have here?" the man says with a smirk.
I bear my teeth and growl again. Damn it, I can't let my brother hurt, I need to decide my best plan of action, sure I could just attack him, but I bet his wolf is a lot bigger than my smaller one. He could change in an instant, I look around and I see rabbit meat hanging from a rope. It was a trap all along. I look the other way and see a log cabin, but besides that there's nothing here.
I guess I have to fight, I may not win but at least Liam can get away, or maybe I run sneak up on him and we both run for it, I mean it's worth a shot.
I run back into the woods and circle towards the cabin. I hide behind the cabin and look around the corner, the man is walking into the cabin with by brother. But before he can I lunge at him, making him fall to the ground and drop my brother. Liam looks at me and than understands that I'm telling him to run. I try to damage the man a little before I start running.
Behind me I hear bones cracking, shit he's turning. I run faster and catch up with my brother. We have no time to get our bags or clothes so we just keep running south.
I can hear the man running after us, I look back his wolf is brown, and bigger than I thought. I nudge my brother signaling him to run faster, he does, but only the slightest bit because he was running almost as fast as he could in the first place. I pick up speed to stay with him tho, even tho I could run faster than him.
The reason we've never been caught is because were fast runners, it's in our blood.
We keep running, and every second we do we put a little more distance between us and the man.
