Leticia was sighing, reeling over Nick’s story, opened the van car door to get out. The group got out of the car to walk the rest of the way. She saw Toby, Darren, and Amelia landed their broomsticks nearby. The group headed to the back part of the building, where the doors opened to The Scarlet Caverns. Wondering how an Outsider never found this place, but Leticia chalked it up with the reason that some magic forces made the place invisible to them.
It was easy to get in the place with Nick motioning the bouncer to let them in. Once they were in, Darren, Chantel, and Leticia were on their own, since The Hexes left to do their own thing. They were, at least, here early since the rave party has not started yet. Just before Leticia wanted to start their search, someone grabbed her! Leticia looked up to see it was Roxy!
“Oh, hey! You made it, ya'll!” Roxy smiled, then looked over to see Darren and Chantel. “I didn’t think you guys would come. Follow me. We have private rooms at the back of the place.” She guided Leticia to the far back room.
Of course, Darren and Chantel had to follow with the buddy system in this place. It looks like finding Rose will have to wait. They soon arrived at one of the small rooms where a couple of people they knew were sitting at a stone table: Mercedes, Mikel, Roxy’s girlfriend, Casey, and Mark were all there. There was another boy in the room, who shared a striking resemblance to Mikel himself! Leticia felt shivers down her spine when the atmosphere was quiet until the leader spoke.
“Welcome! I wanted to meet all three of you, especially before you have fun tonight. However, Darren, I think your brother needs to speak with you, alone. Leticia, I want you to meet my son, Peter. There is another guest that is coming to meet with you, Chantel, but I’m afraid he’s late.” Mikel introduced his dirty blonde haired son, who went up to Leticia and Chantel.
As Peter greeted them, he focused his eyes on Leticia more, which made her uncomfortable, but she still smiled at him. Everything about this little meeting made her nervous until Mikel told Peter to hang out with Leticia at the party. While Leticia did not want to leave Chantel alone, Mercedes encouraged her to have fun. Being pressured, she walked out with Peter out of the room. Soon, the party started popping with more people coming in as the lights dimmed down when music filled in the air.
Leticia walked close to Peter, but did not know how to talk to this boy or even focus on her primary mission, which is finding Rose.
“So, you’re the leader of a band…?” Peter started a conversation with Leticia as they continued weaving their way through the crowd.
“Um, yeah. The Apple Queens? You heard of them, right?” Turning her head a bit to him, while they continued walking.
This guy was walking awfully close to her, she needed to ditch him.
“Yes, I’m a fan of yours. I like your music. Dark Queen’s Kiss is a banger.” Peter added, following her, which Leticia did not let her guard down, even when he was talking about music.
They stopped walking to listen to one band playing. The music was upbeat, everyone dancing and being wild on the dance floor. Leticia would have loved to enjoy the moment, though she needed to stick to her mission. The crowd was too big to find a 40 something year old woman and would she be even over here? The music moved from upbeat to slow down and the environment changed to people slow dancing with their loved ones.
Suddenly, she heard Peter speak once again, turning to face him once again.
“It must be lonely being the only Supernatural in your group.” Peter stood closer to her, and she moved back.
“It’s not like I knew I was Supernatural my whole life.”
“Still sad that you are. You would fit in better in our soceity than with the Outsiders. If you join the Rise of the Light completely, you would be open to a new realm of possibilities.” Peter grabbed her hands to move closer to her face. “Especially an opportunity for a new love…” Leticia’s eyes opened wide when Peter moved closer to her face, trying to kiss her!
Leticia punches Peter in the gut, then storms away from him, not before calling him a creep in Spanish. Pushing away some people in the crowd, she thought to herself that she needed to get the heck out of this place, at least, away from this creep. Leticia ran down the hallway, then stopped in the middle when she saw something that caught her eye. In the hallway, there was a doppelganger of her walking with an older guy. Leticia had to blink twice to check to see if she was seeing things.
Nope, still this damn doppelganger is with that old dude with a horrible fashion sense of an outfit!
Rolling up her coat sleeves, she geared herself for a throw down to smack down this faker. Just before the guitarist headed closer to the doppelganger, Trenton appeared out of nowhere! Leticia stood there, confused on how the heck he got here, but Trenton tackled the guy down to the ground. The doppelganger tried to stop him and Leticia had to intervene.
She punched the doppelganger to the ground, which caused her boyfriend to look at her.
“Leticia?” Trenton said, then he looked at the doppelganger Leticia.
“Trenton, what are you doing here?” Leticia then looked at her doppelganger, “and you! How fucking dare you!”
Confused, Trenton looked back and forward between the Leticias, “Which one of them are the real Leticia?!”
“Trent, I’m the real one! This horrible faker can’t dress right for crap! She is the whole reason you think I am cheating on you!” Leticia pointed at the doppelganger.
“Leticia, let’s talk this about in private…” The doppelganger tried to pull Leticia away, but then she heard another voice calling for him.
“Trenton?! Did you find Leticia?!” Dakota appeared from the crowd, seeing her shocked face.
Leticia wondered how the heck her boyfriend and her best friend followed her into this place?!
Heck, how could they see and go past the magical barrier that kept this place hidden from Outsiders?
“Dakota?! Wait, what’s going? How did you guys get here?!” Leticia saw Dakota, rushing her way through the dancing crowd to meet Trenton.
She and her doppelganger just stood together, facing Trenton and Dakota. Their faces confused at seeing two Leticias at once. The older dude got up and joined in on the confusion. This was becoming something straight out of a horror movie! Dakota headed towards the older guy and grabbed him by the collar. It was clear to Leticia that this pissed Dakota off.
“Did you have anything to do with this?!” Dakota shouted at the guy as the older guy quivered in fear of how aggressive Dakota spoke to him.
The older guy shook his head and told her, “No! I don’t even know what is going on!?”
“Dakota! Please, stop! He did nothing wrong. I did!” The doppelganger Leticia pulled on Dakota to get her to stop. In quick motion, the girl punches out the man, knocking him out before the doppelganger could do anything.
Trenton went up to Leticia and looked at the other one who was dealing with Dakota, “Did you know anything about all this?”
“Babe, I just found this chick impersonating me and being with this weird fucking grandpa. I came over here to see if the bitch Rose is the one behind it.” Leticia’s voice almost went into a panic and then said, “How did you and Dakota get in here? This place isn’t supposed to let in people like you! It’s magically invisible to people like you.”
Leticia opened her mouth, then shut it. This place is too public to explain everything that was going on. They will have to go outside to deal with all this. Once Dakota let the older guy go, the doppelganger Leticia and Dakota came back to the group. The group had to get out of the rave party to go somewhere private, but not too far from where she needed to meet back with Chantel and Darren.
Leticia, Trenton, doppelganger Leticia, and Dakota walked back upstairs where there was no one in the cafe part of the Night Barista Tower. Doppelganger ‘Leticia’ closed the door that led to the Scarlet Caverns once everyone was in. The doppelganger ‘Leticia’ then shed away her appearance from a nineteen-year-old woman to a forty something year old woman. The woman still was wearing the same outfit that she wore at the rave party, it was mystery how her current outfit still fit on her. The woman, Rose, took a deep breath to relax, but not before Leticia went up and slapped her across the face in fury.
Leticia’s blood boiled when the woman revealed herself to be none other than the band’s former manager! Aiming for another hit, this time with a punch, until Trenton pulled her back from doing more violence. Leticia screamed and kicked her legs in the air as Rose did nothing to fight back.
“Let me go! I’m going to murder this chick! How fucking dare you, you fucking psycho!” Leticia shouted.
“Okay, I’m so confused right now… Leticia, chill out!” Dakota tried to calm down the guitarist.
However, she escaped from Trenton’s grasp and headed to Rose. Leticia pushed Rose against the wall and grabbed her face, activating her powers at once. She burned a part of the woman’s face and then punched her in the nose. The guitarist did not care how much Rose got hurt; this woman is out to ruin her life and band’s reputation in her eyes. Soon, Rose pushed Leticia back, which made Leticia fall to the floor. Growling, Rose got herself up, then walked over to the angry girl.
“Let me explain…” Rose said.
“No! You shut up, you fucking train wreaking bitch! You’re trying to ruin our band’s reputation! You were the one that has been throwing yourself out to random people, pretending to be us all along! That’s why we have been getting better gigs! You are ruining everything that we worked for!” Leticia cried.
“Surprise, surprise you are handling this situation poorly, Rose...” Heads shifted to the opposite side of the room.
A pale, red-eyed, blond-haired woman wearing a white nursing outfit came out from the shadows.
“Marieum! I have the situation under control. Just give me time!” Rose begged Marieum, which left the entire group even more confused of what was going on.
“You’re out of time! Your husband is inducting new members of the Rise of Light. Just get Leticia and those dormant Outcasts out of here!” Marieum told her.
“So you’re Marieum?!” Leticia stood there, frozen, freaking out on the fact that an actual vampire was in front of them. She remembered Chantel had told about that rude vampire that stopped her friends from fighting.
“Humans, you need to come with me! You’re lucky that my idiotic sister cares about you all. Now, if you all want to live, follow me!” The vampire demanded of the group as Leticia crossed her arms, still angry at the moment.
“Why the heck should we trust you?! I don’t know what’s going on, but you clearly are doing something wrong here, Lily!” Dakota said as she wasn’t aware about Rose being Lily, which Leticia had to fill her in on that later.
“No. I don’t trust your fucking sister! Why the hell should I trust you when you’re a bloodsucker of the night?!” Leticia stated, then suddenly her boyfriend just pushed her to the back room of the cafe, opening the exit door in a hurry. “Trenton! What the… Why are you pushing me?!” She exclaimed with Dakota and Marieum followed her.
“Listen, Leticia, we can figure this whole thing out later when we’re in a safe place! Let just do what they say!” Trenton said, grabbing her hand, guiding her to the door to escape from the cafe.
As the group left, Leticia stopped walking then looked back at the building. She called to them, “Wait! I can’t leave Darren and Chantel there!”
Marieum coldly glared at the guitarist when the group stopped for a moment. Leticia could tell by the look on Marieum’s face. The vampire was ready to bite off her head! Instead, the vampire woman stood back and calmed herself down. Then she pointed toward an abandoned building. “Go over there and stay over there! Do not leave the building until I say so! I will get your other human friends, especially that foolish Light/Shadow Mage boy. All of you, stay with Rose.”
With that, the vampire woman left the group to follow Rose on the trek to the abandoned building. Leticia hated the fact that she had to follow Rose in order for her to stay safe. She still had to figure out how to explain to Dakota and Trenton about everything when they get back home. This entire night has been a mess, and Leticia does not know how much worse it was going to get. When they arrived at the abandoned building, it seemed to be an old, brick, textile mill with the windows all boarded up.
Rose opened one of the broken doors so the group could walk into an empty, red bricked room. As they waited for Marieum to come back, Leticia hoped that Darren, Chantel, and The Hexes would be okay and get out of that place as fast as they can.
