Here are the (more or less) finished lines I used before beginning to colour the last batch. I don't put too much importance in defining each panel at this stage because I tend to add and layer on more lines actively as I colour, creating boundaries with light. So long as I have something to begin filling in that's fine. I also draw over some of it, too, so why waste time.
At the bottom is a page I wasn't finished colouring. I do each panel at a time. Some are quicker than others and backgrounds are redrawn every time, as are most panels even if they're similar.
I focus most of my energy on getting expression and gesture right. If those things are nailed down, I'm happy to move on to different stages. Body language is super cool and I will always choose an expression over dialogue-- especially for characters like Serge.
