"But the present doesn't end there." His expression suddenly gone serious.
I retreated immediately on the other side of my bed. I just realized we're alone inside my room let alone inside the house.
"whatever you had in mind right now, it's creeping me." I said to him as he walked closer without drifting his eyes away from mine.
I swallowed.
But I was confused when he suddenly chuckled. I raised my brows at him.
"What exactly do you think I had in mind right now,” he paused as he eyed me intently with his soul piercing gray eyes "that creeps you? Hmm?"
I looked away from him, embarrassed by the thought I had in mind. Shit.
He chuckled. "You know I was just kidding." He slumped on the bed with his hands above his head of which the bunny hat still lingers.
"What are you smirking at?" He asks, suddenly curious still with that smile.
I touched my face unconsciously with what he said. I didn't realize I was smiling at the sight of him with that hat.
And I realized I still have one myself.
I touched the bunny hat and removed it.
He chuckled. "so that's what you were smirking at."
He patted the free space of the bed beside him using his left hand, motioning me to sit beside him.
I eyed him with I-can't-trust-you look.
"Aw, come on. I'm not gonna bite." He said, chuckling.
"I doubt it." surprisingly, I found my voice.
"Well you shouldn't be. I'm not gonna do anything unless..." He paused with that look in his eyes that rather annoyed me.
"unless?" I asked, brows twitching.
"unless you have given me your consent." He finished; eyes gleaming.
"what are we gonna do anyway?" I asked.
"some sort of game." He said. Well it sounds more of a question rather than a statement.
"why are you not even sure of what we are about to do."
He took a breath. A deep one.
"why don't you just sit by my side so we could start?" He asks. A little frustrated.
But I really don't know how he managed to still smile.
"is sitting beside you necessary?"
He smirked. "No but it will make it a lot better." He said with that annoying smile of his.
I rolled my eyes. I saw the wall clock. 9:30.
"I have to take a Bath first so I could sleep right after whatever that game is you had in mind." I announced.
"Fine by me." He said and relaxed on the bed still with his hands behind his head.
I cleared my throat. "You can wait in the living room." I told him.
He cocked his head and opened one of his eyes. "why should I? It sure is fine in here."
"But I deserve some privacy okay."
He chuckled. "Why? I'm not gonna peek. Besides, I have seen you naked before so what's there to hide?" He said casually as he laid his head back on his hands.
I felt hot on my cheeks just by the memory of that moment.
I shrugged at him. I have no choice but to bring my towel inside the bathroom.
I stared myself at the mirror.
Sigh
I don't understand myself. I think I'm just over analyzing things I that shouldn't.
I stepped in the shower and let the thoughts ebb away with the flowing water.
When I finished, I literally peeked to see what Grey is doing but I found the bed empty.
I scanned the room and spotted him outside, leaning at the porch.
I took the opportunity and tiptoed towards my closet with hands holding my towel firmly.
I had my underwear wore inside the bathroom, so I just need a shirt and a pajama.
Just as I stepped into my pajama, I heard someone whistles behind me. I frantically sped up what I'm doing.
I looked at him seeing his bemused smile playing on his lips.
"What are you smiling at?"
"Nothing." He chuckled and sat on my bed with his back on the headboard. He motioned me to sit beside him and then he put his hands at the back of his head.
And I saw his biceps. Damn, why does he look so stunningly handsome and muscular?
I hesitantly sat down beside him, carefully bearing in mind to keep a reasonable distance between us. "So, what now?" I asked.
He then shifted his weight on his left arm as he tilted himself to face me.
"The game is called confess to me." He said
"Oh. But I think it sounds a bit funny." I half-laughed.
He smirked. "I intend it that way." He answered.
I rolled my eyes. "So, how's it done?" I said as I dried my hair with the towel.
"It's easy. Whenever I say something about me, you answer me with something about yourself."
"I see. You start." I told him.
"Okay. Hmm. Let's see." He looked up as if he was in deep thought. "I'm possessive of everything that's mine." This time he looked at me.
What does he mean by that? It gives me the feeling that it somehow pertains me. Or maybe I'm just overanalyzing things again.
"Your turn." He said.
"Oh. Uh I'm afraid of heights." Uh what was that? I'm sure can think better than that.
He chuckled. "I know. I hate mayonnaise."
I raised my brows at that. "I really like spaghetti."
"I despise beer."
"Uh it may sound gross, but I like someone touching my nape." I looked down bashfully.
"Hmm." He chuckled. "Let's change the mechanism of this game. You tell something you like about nee and I will tell something I like about you in return. I'll start."
He looked at me. "I like your hair that I wanted to touch it."
My eyes widen with shock. He eased himself towards me, closing the distance that separate us in the bed. His left hand reach for my head but before he touched me, he ask for a permission. "May I?"
I faked a cough and nodded. I could really feel the grating of my face as I waited for his hands to caress my hair especially at that part.
His touch feels so good That I closed my eyes by the feel of it.
He thug me. "Hey, it's your turn."
"I opened my eyes. Uh sorry."
I looked at him and gather all the thoughts that I could muster.
What do I like about him?
Okay for physical things, I guess I like everything about him. But I can't admit that to him.
"I like your smile and err- the sound of your chuckle." I said that without lifting up my gaze at him.
But I can feel that he's smiling. And I fought the urge to look up.
He made me look at him in the end using his free hand. And yep, he was indeed smiling. The smile that I used to love. What am I thinking?
"I like your nose and your bottom lip." He said as he traced the contours of my nose down to the base line of my lips.
I looked away because it's starting to get awkward with his left hand around my shoulder caressing my nape.
"I like the way you care for others."
"I like your simplicity."
I bit my lip. "I like your scent."
Shoot! I can't believe I said that!
He chuckled huskily. "And I to you." He whispered as he leaned closer and snuggled me so that his nose was at the base of my ear.
I closed my eyes, drawn by the sensation that envelops me.
My mind is trying to tell me something. Something that I should do. But I let them flow away.
I haven't realized I drifted away.
GREY'S PERSPECTIVE
I nuzzled closer to him and I realized he was already sleeping.
Tsk. Tsk.
I just smiled at the thought that he slept on my arms.
I took the opportunity to look at him intently.
I know I will never get enough of his angelic face.
It was just like that day...
FLASHBACK
I walked towards him as he sat playfully at the swing. When he realized I was there, he smiled and asked. "How's Blue?"
"He's fine but he can't go out do it's gonna be you and me today." I answered. Happy with the fact that I could finally have him.
We played around the bushes then he suddenly stood still. Eyes wide with fear and after he let put the most hysterical scream that I heard from him.
He ran towards me hiding behind me. He was shaking.
"What's wrong Dean?"
"T-there's a caterpillar." He said stuttering.
And I laughed so hard.
I went to the bush and took the culprit of his outburst. Upon seeing the thing in my hand, he ran.
"It's not gonna bite you. It's just a caterpillar." I shouted as I walked towards him.
I was about to tease him.
He looked at me with pleading eyes. "please don't let that thing near me."
I discarded the thought and put away the caterpillar.
That was the first. But I would still threat him with the caterpillar.
There was one day that he cried so hard when I gave him a box full of caterpillars.
He was literally shaking.
I hate myself for doing that.
Another scene...
I touched his hand. "I will tell you something."
"What is it?" He asked.
"Would you run away if I tell you that I love you?"
It was the craziest move I have done but I can't take it anymore. I have been containing the feeling for so long that I'm gonna burst if I can't channel it out.
He was astounded for a moment but then he looked down.
I was scared.
But his firm hold of my hands remind me that he's still there.
"No." He said slowly.
"What? " I can hear the erratic beating of my heart.
"No. I won't run away. Because..."
" because? "
"I love you too."
At the sound of it. I literally embraced and held him high.
I seized the moment and kiss him so hard.
I'm so glad that he kissed me back.
We were at the abandoned house. It was our sanctuary. It was the place only the two of us know.
I pulled him towards me. He giggled.
"I love you, marry me."
"Okay."
I smiled. "Let's go."
"Where?" He asked.
"Up there." I pointed at the sole tree standing on a hilltop just beside the house.
And we exchanged our vows as the sun slowly sets at the horizon, the sunflowers following its direction.
END OF FLASHBACK
I smiled at the rush of memories...
I looked at Dean who was sleeping inside my arms.
I cuddled him closer and made him rest on my chest.
It's one of the most wonderful feeling in the world.
To have him safe inside my arms.
Happy birthday Dean.
