I squint at the female who comes to join us as she asks if their target has a bodyguard. Apparently, she is either blind, or uneducated to who I am related to. A mistake that would cost her life if she decides it to be a good idea to spring from her hunched position. A cruel smile pulls at my lips as Red Eyes threatens to ‘punt her to the beast’-- whatever that means.
“Well that’s no fun,” I muse, looking Miss Leif over for a moment before I glance back to Red Eyes. “From the stories I’ve heard of the Mothman, I would have assumed you’d enjoy a little carnage.”
"In my youth? Most definitely...however, at my age even carnage has lost its luster."
“Shame,” I murmur, moving away from Tereza, who tries to grab my arm. Something I shirk as I step up to the Mothman. “Though you don’t look a day over thirty, love.”
Calling him that makes my skin crawl, but who knows, maybe I can do to him what I do with every other man who tries to get in the way of what I want. I can make him drop his guard by wooing him, and then I can hopefully injure him enough to escape. That is my hope at least. Though some part of me doesn’t believe it will work as he pulls out a rectangular wood box. My eyebrows pinching together when I see the collar inside.
“Obsidian and glass beads?” I ask, scrutinizing the pieces of glass for a moment before I look back up at him. “What are you putting on me, Red Eyes?”
“A necklace, obviously.” No shit, sherlock. I glare at him--my arms folded as I wait for an answer. “It dampens your ability to gather power to perform spells. You could perform ones at most. Nothing that could damage another living being.”
“Interesting.” I murmur, moving my hair out of the way so that he could put it on. His hands linger longer than they need to. An action that seems to piss off the woman with him. A smile pulls at my lips as I decide to change my focus.
If they are going to take me, god knows where, I can at least play with them and have a little bit of fun, right? That’s my thought on the matter as Red Eyes asked if I needed to grab anything. Shaking my head, I hold my bag a little bit closer.
“I have everything I need right here, Love,” I murmur, looking him over, smirking slightly before I move to walk out of the camp.
I wasn’t excited for this next chapter of my life, but with any luck, I would find my way out of it. I couldn’t depend on Dimitri to save me-- not a second time. So I would have to find my way out of this mess.
